Do you decorate the childrens' bedrooms?

I'm idly browsing the christmas decorations on a few sites, and wondering about the kids' bedrooms - they just don't normally feel very christmassy at all. We've got some battery operated fairy lights, and stick some of those snowflakes on their windows.

What do you have?

DS has battery LED lights round the foot of his bedstead, sticker type things (the gel ones that peel off) on his window, a little battery fibreoptic tree & a battery colour changing snowman.

And his yearly Lego advent calendar, of course.

blibblibs · 12/10/2014 13:27

Both DC have a small tree they decorate themselves and countdown to Christmas duvet covers - all go on & up on the 1st Dec Smile

ElephantsNeverForgive · 12/10/2014 13:28

Fairy lights, fibre optic trees and as much tinsel as they can be bothered to climb up and drape over pictures and wrap round book cases.

Sometimes they go to town, some times they don't.

They have the big tree in their room as our living room is tiny and there's no room for it. Well there might be room if not for the 36373082 other decorations. But they love it in their room.

We have Christmassy duvets for them too. Plus the 3562m of tacky tinsel. Grin

both mine have a small tree in their room that they decorate themselves

Mini Christmas tree they decorate themselves in each bedroom plus gaudy multi coloured lights and decals on the windows

poolomoomon · 12/10/2014 14:02

Christmas duvets, Belle and Boo christmas stickers behind their beds and their mamas&papas first Christmas bears on their beds. I was considering rabbit shaped fairy lights behind their beds too but they're all very young (4, 3 and 2) and I can picture them being yanked down Sad.

Dcs have their own tree we started off buying a box of cheap decorations for it and then every year they choose a new one and these decorations will be theirs when they leave home. We've been doing this the past 6 yrs and I love looking at change of styles as they've got older.

KnittedJimmyChoos · 12/10/2014 14:12

tacky tinsel Shock

I stopped tinsel for a few years but missed its smell, its twinkle, its soft rustle when you walk round the room.

I LOVE tinsel again.

I have a tree I got off freecyle, some decs from homebase all in the sale, tinsel and wilks do great stuff to drape round and hanging from ceilings etc.
I also dot things about in the halls.

KnittedJimmyChoos · 12/10/2014 14:12

I will do xmas duvets next year If I can buy some in the sale this year.

Purplefrogshoes · 12/10/2014 14:17

I have christmas bedding for DD and she has her own pink christmas tree that she can decorate how she likes

Knitted, I'm sure you have quality tinsel. We have Home Bargain/Poundland tinsel. Grin

KnittedJimmyChoos · 12/10/2014 14:28

No, its a mixture.

But Next did do some really thick and Lux tinsel last year I may get if I see it again.

RufusTheReindeer · 12/10/2014 14:31

They have a 6ft (apparently!!) tree each, plus one in the playroom

They are not allowed to touch the one in the living room

I'm getting one for the kitchen this year

I may have a problem with trees Blush

Guitargirl · 12/10/2014 14:35

They have a tree in between both their rooms which they decorate. They both have Christmas duvets and our elf decorates DD's dolls house with mini Christmas decorations and lights.

Guitargirl · 12/10/2014 14:36

Rufus - that is a lot of trees!

Love the NN by the way, are you a reindeer all year round or is this an early Christmas name change?

RufusTheReindeer · 12/10/2014 15:40

Thanks

I change it to red nosed at Christmas

Could not think of an Easter one for love nor money Grin

I do fancy christmas duvets!!!! Off to google (think DH may cry...it takes us a whole weekend to decorate as it is!,)

RufusTheReindeer · 12/10/2014 15:46

He is now yelling NO at me Grin

"You can't watch me for ever!!!! And I have your credit card!!" Mwah, ha, ha!

Guitargirl · 12/10/2014 15:53

I have worn DP down over the years. He just humours me now Grin.

He even bought some Christmas loo roll with the weekly shop last year. I think I may have won him over...
