Who's hoping to get a slot for Harrods Santa's Grotto this year then?

The time is almost here! Upset they're not going allowing members of mini harrods the first day priority booking this year so crossing my fingers we get a slot as we're really busy this year!

Let's all cross our fingers together Grin

Thanks... I still can't get through to book tickets, I will go mad if I listen to any more of hark the herald angels sing had to hang up after 20 mins it was so awful with static on the line so I might just give up now. Can't imagine much will be left by the time they fix the problem.

Annoying woman on the phone was a bit computer said no when I asked if she could book it for me over the phone and spare me holding on through any more of the hold music

Probably look at Westfields now instead

KnittedJimmyChoos · 10/09/2014 21:24

I am so dissapointed, I thought there would be no question we would get a slot this year.

I hope those who are also dissaspointed write to them to tell them.

Anetter I will be joining you in Westfield I think. Sad.

Anyone else know of any good ones?

Annetter · 10/09/2014 21:30

well I finally managed on my phone not sure why couldn't book from laptop!

But could only get a November thursday at 12.30... annoyingly before DH and I take him to see what is meant to be his "first" F.C (this one is just to please the grandma that she has taken him to a grotto) so harrods will be his first experience. really hope it's ok... suppose tots have short memories, he'll probably forget by Ruxley manor if he's been scared of F.C?

Loue79 · 10/09/2014 22:21

Knitted Jimmy Choos I do agree with you that those who spend more should not get priority but unfortunately money seems to talk nowadays especially with people spending less.

I was lucky and did get a space but not on a date or time I wanted. I will be complaining when I visit especially about the hold music I and many others had to listen to.

Twitter seems to be getting a bit of a battering so a complaint that way may also help. I hope those who didn't get a space may get help through a complaint and that they sort the booking out for next year.

xalyssx · 11/09/2014 00:15

I'm really surprised, I managed to get the one I wanted! Mind you, I did want Tuesday 18th November, so not a highly sought after date.

SpottyTeacakes · 11/09/2014 06:45

Right we've decided we're definitely going to Drusillas it looks quite good and you can use clubcard vouchers and I will pretend ds is still under two Shock plus going to Chessington garden centre one.

I just got the email through a few minutes ago and managed to get a 10am slot on 4th Dec Smile Was desperate for a Thurs or Fri slot as those are the days I'm off work. Was hoping for an afternoon slot but heighho.. As far as I could see most slots in Dec were gone. I joined the reward card a few weeks ago and have spent nothing in Harrods.

Gooseysgirl · 11/09/2014 09:49

By the way, we went to the Stratford Westfield one last year and thought it was great. My then almost 2yr old DD really enjoyed it. My only gripe was the quality of the photo was awful, regretted paying for it.

Knitted we were able to take photos anywhere except in the room where we met Santa. It was very well run and all went to schedule

KnittedJimmyChoos · 11/09/2014 10:36

JUST GOT MY LINK there is one saturday showing avilable the 15th nov BUT i CANT schoose a time on any of the free dates i cannot choose a time

KnittedJimmyChoos · 11/09/2014 10:38

I see, cant book times as they are not actually available

BeyoncesCat · 11/09/2014 10:47

Yes times not allowing me to select one! What's going on? I called but was on hold for 20 mins!

KnittedJimmyChoos · 11/09/2014 10:54

bascailly they are showing days on calender when there are no time slots availble click on other dats in novemeber early, and the time free will turn green

i think they have done it to make the calender look better when they send it to us, as actually there are only a few times on days on nove free

Artandco · 11/09/2014 10:56

Yes as said Westfield ones good. Only thing I despise is they charge for the adults also, yet you obv get nothing out of it. It was only £3 I think. So £12 for x2 children and x2 adults. Yet I would rather out of principle they just said say £6 per child, adult free.your hardly going to send most in without an adult surely.

Gooseysgirl · 11/09/2014 11:00

The days show up as green but if the time slots are all grey it means they're booked out... v frustrating

Guitargirl · 11/09/2014 18:52

I had the email this morning and had the same experience as others.
Lots of dates in green but when you click on them no times actually available.

Anyway, I booked for an after school slot in November. This will be our 8th year so I would have been gutted if I hadn't managed to get tickets.

KnittedJimmyChoos · 11/09/2014 18:56

Please add your voice to our complaints too. esp as you have been going for 8 years.

Guitargirl · 11/09/2014 19:03

It seems to have absolutely taken off in popularity. The first year we went was 2007 and there was none of this palaver then with rewards cards and booking online. You just called up, waited for a few minutes and booked. But the queue was much longer then. Now the queues are not so bad but the booking system is such a pain.

KnittedJimmyChoos · 11/09/2014 19:13

Its always been popular though

FestiveFox · 19/09/2014 22:55

how muchis this please
cant see the price

SixerofthePixies · 20/09/2014 10:28

I ended up booking the tea with Santa, it was the only way we could get a time we can do (live 3 hrs from London). As we needed a weekend day.

It's going to be our big Christmas treat day it had better be good!
