As previously, if you shot a link in the OP links isn’t working/no longer in date, please let me know by posting in bold so I can easily see to update Thanks

Ahem, I can’t actually remember if I updated the links from 2 threads ago. I think I have, but I’m not sure. If you spot any links that don’t work and you’ve already told me please tell me again in bold Thanks and sorry.

Hello all, so this tread doesn't get clogged up I have started a thread about Christmas presents traditions, as I was getting rather interested as to how everyone else does presents, it's in the Christmas forum.

Petal7 · 01/09/2014 13:59

My non Christmas present Tassimo arrived today too! Yay! Now need to order some pods! Am ridiculously excited!

Missteacake · 01/09/2014 14:04

Hello sorry I have been dipping in and out of this thread so someone may have said already has anybody ordered frozen outfits from aliexpress which have come and are in good enough condition for Christmas presents. Thanks

WildFlowersAttractBees · 01/09/2014 14:05

I can't remember who was looking for despicable me bargains???
Stamper set £3.

WildFlowersAttractBees · 01/09/2014 14:40

I just got 64 gift tags, 40m of gift wrap and a gift box for the grand total of £14 including delivery form John Lewis clearance section. perhaps a bit bright and modern but I fancy a change.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 01/09/2014 14:48

Stockings here are small gifts Inc to husband n I n no one item should be over £2/2.50 and whole stocking less than£20.

We only had stocking as kids from when I was about 12/13 there was 8 of us n remember youngest being a baby before that we had a small wrapped gift on bed from father Xmas.

Today in Tesco children ready beds were cheap no reduced labels but these r normally£30 and I got Spiderman for £13 and they had Thomas tank n a girly one for @£14 all said age 3+ on them.

Sorry about that Hope - Unfortunately the Tardis seems to be broken as I can't go back and change it, so fingers crossed, second time lucky...

Here's the proper link to the Bake Your Own Dog Biscuits set £5 for a tin with a recipe book in for 50 different dog biscuits as well as 3 doggy themed dog biscuit cutters...

zipzap · 01/09/2014 15:05

There's a £3 iphone - it's made of that stressball foam rather than the real thing but could be a good office secret santa gift or for somebody that wants the real thing but isn't getting it as a tease.

HopeAndStories · 01/09/2014 15:10

Me too Ruby Grin

Thanks zipzap Thanks

stupidgreatgrinonmyface · 01/09/2014 15:12

Hi again. Not strictly just for christmas, but money saving nevertheless. Since ordering the Tassimo machine last week, my (adult) dcs have discovered a hitherto unknown love of coffee! In an effort to keep the costs down, we have added our favourite pods to our Amazon subscribe and save items. Have just taken delivery of five packs of americano for £12.35 instead of£15.00 and five packs of kenco Columbian for the same price. Delivery was free. Savings seem to depend upon the number of items in each order. Worth a look for anything you would buy regularly such as toiletries etc.

zipzap · 01/09/2014 15:15

Howabout this for anyone that knows somebody that shovels their food - a dinner digger.

It's a spoon that's shaped like a digger's front scoop - big enough for somebody that shovels their food in to use as a spoon, and for everybody else to use as a serving spoon.

lucysmam · 01/09/2014 15:21

Anyone bought any other cheap randomness from Amazon?

Stockings, advent calendars and my rainy day stashes are looking well stocked now.

Must get socks and knickers at the weekend to finish stockings off (apart from choc coins).

JiltedJohnsJulie · 01/09/2014 15:39

Haven't caught up with this thread yet so sorry if repeating.

Been shopping today and got bargain Harumika from Home Bargains for dd.

99p Horrible Histories Top Trumps from George and Freddie and also a Lego Technics set for £9.99 instead of £19.99.

HorizontallyChallenged · 01/09/2014 15:54

Whoever was asking about Harry Potter jewellery a few pages back, I got this for my niece who is Harry Potter (well, mostly Snape, actually) mad. I like that the theme isn't apparent unless you know the story.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 01/09/2014 16:07

Does anybody have a link to last year's Snitch necklaces that were cheap?!
and any other SUPER cheap Harry Potter bits?

NorksEnormous · 01/09/2014 16:12

Just an idea for those who have ordered the personalised glass coke bottles- pound world (the blue one) have magnet bottle openers in the shape of a coke bottle.

Other bargains spotted there were lazy town action figures,
little furry creatures called kachooz playsets.
Strange little creatures called bratzillas- they lit up and made noises and stuff
Peppa pig/doc mc stuffin/Minnie hairbrush set with clips - looked the same as the ones you would pay about a fiver for in claires accessories

KEGirlOnFire · 01/09/2014 16:15

Oh wise ones, with all this talk of stockings, dh and I have decided to do a stocking for fil who is staying with us for xmas. It is his first xmas as a single man so we want to make it as fun as possible for him.

As his main presents we have got him one of the ben sherman watches that was in one of the earlier threads and a tassimo machine.

Stocking fillers so far:

Grumpy old man mints
Blow up walking stick
Egg-timer (he's been admiring ours and we've found one the same)

Dh doesn't do baths but fil does, what would you recommend for a man's bath?? He uses hankies still so definitely some of those for his stocking plus some socks. Any other ideas?

Appin · 01/09/2014 16:25

Inspired by the talk of dressing up costumes on here, I've just been to my local argos and got DD two Disney dressing up costumes reduced from 14.99 to 5.99, they only had Alice in wonderland and little red riding hood, but still a bargain!

WildFlowersAttractBees · 01/09/2014 16:34

Can anyone link to the amazon watches for teenage boys please? I can't find them, they were all different colours and ideal stocking fillers.

lucysmam · 01/09/2014 16:35

KEG what about Radox or some sort of 'muscle soak' for baths. Supermarkets/poundshops usually have those for a pound. Hankies too in Poundland IIRC Smile

Miniature of whatever he drinks? Or can of beer?

Fancy razor (unless he has a beardy thing going on).

Appin · 01/09/2014 16:48

Ravel princess watch on amazon, £5.79. Bargain, these are really good quality!

pigleychez · 01/09/2014 16:56

Ohh thanks Appin.

DD2 has a party for twins soon so that's the sorted :) There's a ballerina one reduced too so one of each.

zipzap · 01/09/2014 16:56

KEGirl how about minature bottles of whiskey, brandy, or his favourite tipple?

Aldi last year had some Christmas themed lager and beer that dh enjoyed.
Chocolate coins and satsuma (and whatever else Santa traditionally leaves for your dc!)
Pair of socks - some good warm woolly ones or thick walking ones or with his favourite sports logo on or some other reason to make them not just regular ones
If you put something silly in for the dc like finger lights or a yoyo etc then get one for him too - if he doesn't want it he can leave it behind but while he is staying with you he can join in with the dc (last year I got cheap wind up dinosaurs, there was one in every stocking regardless of age so we could all race them over the breakfast)
Toy car (his dream one!) and a bottle of baby bio to make it grow big (edit the label yourself!)
Last year home bargains had packs of tissues printed as £50 notes for 20p - I know he's a hankie man but they would be fun
A magazine of whatever he is into
The Book people have lots of interesting books on all sorts of random things, you'd probably find something he enjoyed
A bag of marbles (in case he loses any of his!!)
A bag of jacks or pack of dominoes - something from his childhood he could use to show your dc how to play
Some ear plugs and any other bits that could be a grandpa christmas survival kit
