As previously, if you shot a link in the OP links isn’t working/no longer in date, please let me know by posting in bold so I can easily see to update Thanks

Ahem, I can’t actually remember if I updated the links from 2 threads ago. I think I have, but I’m not sure. If you spot any links that don’t work and you’ve already told me please tell me again in bold Thanks and sorry.

Can anyone recommend a good but cheap Christmas colouring book for a 4 year old?

There's a few on Amazon but they're a bit more than I'm willing to spend on a book that DS will take 3 seconds to colour in!

Also looking for packs of Christmas themed stickers if anyone can help?

Scaredycat3000 · 31/08/2014 18:24

They had some great dress up stuff in 99p shop, Policeman's/Fireman's hats with accessories plus other ones. The accessories were a bit naff but the hats themselves will last some time. There were bib style costumes to match we did leave those on the shelf, but looked alright. Amazon is worth keeping an eye on and Aliexpress seem best for superhero costumes. I can't honestly think they could be any worse quality than the rubbish we usually pay £10ish for.

I would love to do a dressing up box for dd for Xmas- what sort of box/rail are you putting it on?

TenMinutesEarly · 31/08/2014 20:12

Oh just remembered another dressing up tip. Halloween dressing up outfits are dirt cheap just after Halloween. Marks and spencer do fab witch outfits and usually reduce them online on Halloween itself.

1980jm · 31/08/2014 20:15

Norks re the box I'm on the lookout for a trunk style box, I saw a great pink one in a local shop but I am absolutely not shelling out £95 for it!

Keepcalmanddrinkwine · 31/08/2014 20:17

If you are on Facebook, look up Red Ted Art and go through their photos. There is an amazing dressing up rail upcycled from a chest of drawers. Looks pretty easy but very effective.

lucysmam · 31/08/2014 20:22

GiveMeCheesecake Wilko's have some nice looking colouring books in atm for about £1.25 Smile

lucysmam · 31/08/2014 20:23

Sorry, just realised you said Christmas Blush Pound/99p shops/The Works closer to the time maybe Smile

NorksEnormous · 31/08/2014 20:40

Keepcalm that looks amazing, I'm sure if I tried it it would look nothing like that! Grin I have the creativity of a newt! Grin

That's the type I would like though, one where I can hang things up and storage at the bottom to put hats/shoes/accessories. Ones I've see are around £100 though!

Primark have really bright funky sunglasses which would be great for a dressing up box, they are glittery and have a big parrot over one eye and a palm tree over the other, I know my 2 yo would love those in her dressing up box! Pair it with a flower garland and you have a hawaiin girl Smile

WeHateAmy · 31/08/2014 21:00

KeepCalm I saw that dressing up wardrobe on Red Ted, it was amazing.

DS has never been keen on dressing up though.

Groovester · 31/08/2014 21:18

Another Tassimo sheep here (Baa!)
Bought for my in laws who are notoriously difficult to choose for. DH delighted too - some Christmas stress removed. In August. Yay!

1980jm · 31/08/2014 21:21

Keepcalm the wardrobe on Red Ted is brilliant, wish I had time to make it. I'd love to make the outfits myself too but full time job + 2 year old doesn't leave much time!

MyFirstMyLastMyEverythingBagel · 31/08/2014 21:33

Hi everyone, just to say how much I love this thread! Been lurking and got some great bargains and ideas too so Thanks all round.

Haven't posted before but finally have a bargain to share that I don't think has been mentioned ... ASOS have an up too 75% sale on at the minute with thousands of lovely things including clothes shoes and accessories ... I used the code ASOSGLAMOUR and got a further 20% off a gorgeous play suit that was already in the sale. It didn't work on the jacket I ordered too but did work on the jumpsuit so worth a shot Wine

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 31/08/2014 22:16

For dress up storage ideas, have a look on pinterest- there's tonnes! I searched for childrens dress up storage ideas and there are some fab easy looking ideas.

ItStillLooksLikeRainDear · 31/08/2014 22:17

norks I use one of these rails for dressing up stuff £14 at ikea. I have plastic boxes underneath and on the bottom rails that store hats, shoes and various accessories. Ikea sell other bits to add too. It's also handy as it's on wheels.

Or they do another rail here for £6.50

KittyMouseRocks · 31/08/2014 22:22

Just ordered the tassimo - thank you to the poster x

leavesalmondoutofit · 31/08/2014 22:34

Wow, loads of ideas and enthusiasm for dressing upGrin Thank you. I forgot about charity shops and Halloween, also reductions in prices afterwards.

I don't have a big Sainsburys anywhere close enough and I am always jealous of the bargains. I visit TKMAXX whenever I can but have yet to see anything non princessy in her size. Reastie the Dragon sounds really appealing, I will keep looking.

Checked out the upcycled chest of drawers on Pinterest, I couldn't find the recommended one. Grampa will be on that tomorrow checking out the charity shops what a fab idea.

And thank you Reastie for this thread. Flowers Cake Wine

KittyMouseRocks · 31/08/2014 22:45

I've just ordered one of the little live pets from Amazon - link below:

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00ITTMWQ4/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1409521074&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40

You can't pick your style but for £9.99 I don't mind! Out of stock at the mo but you can pre-order. I bet this is going to be one of the sought after bits of tat that all the kids want!!!

If anyone spots the birdcage at a good price, please let me know. Also DD is pining for Shopkins - useless squinkie type things more of an American thing. If anyone sees any bargains would be grateful for a shout xxx

zipzap · 31/08/2014 22:49

I misread Leaves post and thought for a moment that there was a character in a film/book/etc called Reastie the Dragon which was a coincidence as she set up these threads. Then I thought maybe not, maybe Reastie has been renamed or had been renamed by somebody else as Reastie the Dragon.

And then I thought that actually I'm going cross eyed and doolally sitting here when I should be asleep so I'm off for an early night for a change instead of staying up way too late to get Christmas bargains sorted in August.

leavesalmondoutofit · 31/08/2014 23:09

Amazing the effect a missing comma has Reastie the Dragon

lucysmam · 31/08/2014 23:15

zipzap check Home Bargains for Shopkins, I'm reasonably sure dd1 was eyeing up a set in there on Friday for about £6.99. If it wasn't actually Shopkins, it looked very similar Smile

306235388 · 31/08/2014 23:25

Surely this is reastie the dragon??

LottieAndTheDinosaur · 01/09/2014 01:00

Grin Reastie the dragon.

I missed the tassimo fever thread for a few days and after catching up this afternoon decided I would buy a tassimo too Smile. I got distracted by kids and have now just realised I never finished filling gin the form.

LottieAndTheDinosaur · 01/09/2014 01:10

Argh bloody mobile site not letting me write a long post and kicking me out when I try to put an angry emotion!

Anyway - I missed out on the tassimo offer but the couple I was buying it for only really drink normal or peppermint tea so its probably for the best really!

LottieAndTheDinosaur · 01/09/2014 01:12

*fill in not fill gin Blush
