As previously, if you shot a link in the OP links isn’t working/no longer in date, please let me know by posting in bold so I can easily see to update Thanks

Ahem, I can’t actually remember if I updated the links from 2 threads ago. I think I have, but I’m not sure. If you spot any links that don’t work and you’ve already told me please tell me again in bold Thanks and sorry.

Weehee I'm getting me a Tassimo for my birthday next month, its on its way :)

Now I need to find some cute cappuccino cups to round out my pressed --and tons of pods--

DD's Elsa dress arrived today, its quite nice for a costume, DD isn't a mad fan but does enjoy a good flounce in a frock ;)

Looking for a bargain on a men's electric razor if anyone sees one!

Scaredycat3000 · 30/08/2014 20:54

Grin I was just going to post about those oakleys. I many pairs of frogskins. I bought them because I like them, I had never heard of them and prefer things with out brand names myself. So I wasn't to bothered when the paint was smudged on the logo. Comparing my many pairs to that website they are real or good copies.

Miren · 30/08/2014 21:06

After seeing Aliexpress mentioned on this thread, I've been having a browse - wonder if you lovely ladies coukd give me advise on this Sven plush? Pics show it with Disney store tags... is it fake? Does the seller look ok?

I've never ordered from anywhere other than Amazon or well known UK highstreet stores so I'm a bit nervous!

Miren · 30/08/2014 21:08

sorry for typos - on phone doesn't excuse advise instead of advice

NormHonal · 30/08/2014 21:11

Feartheescalator that Bentalls clearance shop is amazing - got some fabulous Cath Kidston towels in there last time for £10 each (normally £40) and bath robes for similar.

We just bought 5 pairs of sunglasses and we are now fretting as we didn't get a confirmation email.

Have we just been scammed?

KEGirlOnFire · 30/08/2014 21:29

Miren, I think we have to assume that most things on aliexpress are fakes to be honest, at the prices that they charge, however I have bought the anna and elsa toddler plush dolls and even if they are fakes, they are amazing, have disney store tags and certainly dd would never notice... hope that helps. Smile

Miren · 30/08/2014 21:35

Thank you KEGirlOnFire. I suppose if they are good fakes it won't matter - just worried it will come and look nothing like the pic! Most cuddly toys work their way to the charity shop within the year anyway but I the kids like a cuddly atop their pile on Christmas morning Grin

Scaredycat3000 · 30/08/2014 21:45

One thing to remember is we basically have no sewing manufacturing industry in this country since M&S pulled it's production from the UK 2000/1. Most things are made aboard, so it's quite easy to make a few more items than Disney ordered and sell them to locals, who sell them on Amazon/Ebay/Aliexpress. Whilst there are most defiantly copies I'm not sure why one seller would have gone to the trouble of making Primark plain vest t-shirts, including sales tags, and then selling them for more than the tag price!

soundstrue · 30/08/2014 22:27

Just ordered a maxi micro scooter from Austrian site sportgigant Maxi Micro it worked out at just over £70 including postage. Just hope it arrives. Grin

lucysmam · 30/08/2014 22:50

sounds will you report back if it come alright, please? The £100 ish price tag that I was looking at,each, is a bit of a shocker Shock ! Maybe I'm tight but I don't want to pay 100quid for a scooter if I can help it.

ItStillLooksLikeRainDear · 30/08/2014 22:57

pickle have you used that website before? If it is genuine they are most definitely a bargain but I was concerned that the only contact details are hotmail addresses.

zipzap · 31/08/2014 00:28

Argh. I've just tried to be clever and split my rather too large Book people order into two (I need 2 more orders to get my points passport back and it is handy having orders turn up the next day without having to pay any more!) BUT having done one order and then tried to do the next one, it won't let me do the payday cash back code again - it's a one use only one apparently.

Also the minecraft one - if you buy less than 4 books they have the discount for childrens books taken off them but if you buy 4 then they just take the set discount off and not the other discount. I have one of the books already but thought with all the discounts stacked it would be cheaper to buy all 4 than 3 without the discounts but that now isn't working.

Plus if I went through top cash back it said there was a £5 back if I spent more than £50 plus cashback (so long as it wasn't sale items). Unfortunately I had some sale items from the bananas section so couldn't use it.

Also in the bananas section - they were giving a free book if you bought 5 books from them - called Packing for Mars - a sort of science-y fact book that would be suitable for BILs or uncles that were difficult to get for and you could think they would be interested in space travel in any possible way!

Think I am going to have to ring up tomorrow and see if I can get my order put back all together again - I was just hoping that I could split it for the benefits of getting my passport stamp more quickly - but also so that I could get half the order sent to my mum in the guise of most of them being christmas presents, as dh is trying to cull lots of books (it's true we do have too many) so doesn't want to see a large box of books arriving!

PinkAndBlueBedtimeBears · 31/08/2014 05:51

The free photo prints thing, can you only use it as an app from your phone or can you do it from a computer? I can do it from my phone, but a lot of my photos are already on the computer and deleted from my phone!!

Was just about to post livvy that I got dds elsa dress from megafancydress on eBay. £15 and it's a uk seller.
Costume is lovely.
norm that bentalls outlet shop is fab we have had loads of bargains from there before (shop smells a bit funny but you get your shopping in bentalls bags..)

I went to argos yesterday & got £70 worth of stuff for £20 using the free £5 voucher they gave me plus the nectar points I had saved at sainsburys. Happy

LalaDipsey · 31/08/2014 07:58

Sounds true - did you find a way to make that website speak English? I can't make head nor tale of it but am keen to order thinking as they take paypal it's pretty safe! And it looks like a decent website.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 31/08/2014 08:32

I had an email from the body shop. £10 off a £25 spend online. Ends midnight. Code SPLASH

soundstrue · 31/08/2014 08:46

I tried google translate but it didn't work. So just fumbled through it. The address at the end was correct so hopeful it will arrive. I had to turn off google translate to get PayPal to work. I will let you know when it arrives and how long it takes.

BabyAsleepAtLast · 31/08/2014 08:57

I ordered a dress from megafancydress as girlsayearapart mentioned and it was awful, poorquality and nothing like the picture. I guess it's luck of the draw but just wanted to give a word of warning.

Did anyone buy the loom band charms from thread 2 (I think) (or any other loom band charms). It's all over the media that loom band charms - particularly from Asia - are likely to contain dangerous levels of carcogenics (sp). I'm not one easily scared by hyped up media stories but am quite frightened by this. I already gave my dd her loom band charms :(

There's a thread in chat about it. Will try.and link now.

Hope that works (link to loom band thread).
Sorry to be the bearer of doom and gloom on Christmas thread .

Really tempted with a Tassimo. We have a Nespresso that we don't use because it's a pain getting the pods, but I like that you can use the Tassimo for different drinks. Is the quality as good as Nespresso for coffee?
