Thread four already.

As previously, if you shot a link in the OP links isn’t working/no longer in date, please let me know by posting in bold so I can easily see to update Thanks

Ahem, I can’t actually remember if I updated the links from 2 threads ago. I think I have, but I’m not sure. If you spot any links that don’t work and you’ve already told me please tell me again in bold Thanks and sorry.

I've managed to get as far as half way through the last one (I know, I know, could do better) so if there's anything you think from the last thread that got missed off please let me know and I'll amend for next one.

coffee - how about a mug with lo's footprints on it? If you have a pottery painting place near you they are normally about £10 all in.

Not really a bargain though but good for those "that have everything"

dawnky1983 · 17/08/2014 08:43

Coffeetofunction this website has some lovely things that might be nice for grandmas/great grandmas-www.pretty-and-personalised.com/

KEGirlOnFire · 17/08/2014 09:21

I can't remember who was asking about sizes on aliexpress but I have a 5 year old who is very tiny - generally age 3-4 clothes and I have ordered size 6 and they will fit very well looking at them...

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2014 09:26

Thanks KEGirl your dd sounds about the same size as mine. Hmm it's so confusing as I can't afford to send them back if they don't fit

RockySpeed · 17/08/2014 09:34

Has anyone spotted any good deals on lego storage bricks and heads? (which are being discontinued I think Hmm) Last year they were in the 3 for 2 offer in Sainsburys it you don't really see them much any more. TIA

Questionsquestionsquestions · 17/08/2014 10:10

I got some from this place a few months ago Rocky - didn't shop around so I don't know how the prices compare though...

If any if you have Minnie Mouse obsessed toddlers who like jigsaws, I've just ordered this one (giant floor puzzle) for my DD. It's an add on item at Amazon but terrific value at 58% off (reduced from £8.99 to £3.74)

JessesGirl · 17/08/2014 11:10

Just seen in yesterday's paper if you spend £30 at Argos on toys you get a £5 voucher. Only until Tuesday but it looks like they've got 3 for 2 on some things so might be worth a look.

SarahAndFuck · 17/08/2014 12:33

I just found these heart necklaces on amazon for 45p each and free delivery.

From Hong Kong, so not sure about delivery or quality, but bought four as stocking filler type gifts so will let you know.

Someone mentioned a LEGO STORAGE HEAD and I've also just purchased one for those, the skeleton head, for £11.99 on amazon. Due back in stock on 21st August, so have taken a risk ordering, but I think DS will love it so I'm hoping it does come back in stock and arrive soon.

This thread has just cost me £20, as I also bought the dinosaur eggs, the led light finger things (second year in a row Grin ) the glowing rose thingies and the double birdhouse keyring whistle thing, as well as the big lego head.

scrappydappydoo · 17/08/2014 12:41

Ideas please. DD (8) has asked for a telescope for Christmas - she is massively into space but we live in a really light polluted area so the chances of her seeing anything are nil. I tried explaining this but this is one thing she really wants. I don't want to fork out money on something that will essentially be useless and also deal with the 'trauma' when she can't see anything from her window. Any ideas what I can do? Budget around £20-30
She already has one of those stars in your room projector things that shows the constellations and we do regular trips to the nearest planetarium

PinkSquash · 17/08/2014 12:50

IIRC last year Asda had a sale on the storage bricks, I got a large storage block for £12, I think someone on here tipped us off, I'm hoping that they'll have a similar deal this year. It wad between Sept and Oct half term.

I am tempted by the Halloween lego storage heads as they are so cool, but I would probably end up keeping them for myself. Grin

LottieAndTheDinosaur · 17/08/2014 12:51

Thanks KEgirl for posting your sizes....I am really confused (not hard) Confused and google is telling me different things! My DD is 4 next month and in age 3-4 clothes but lots of age 2-3 clothes still fit her fine. So I ordered 4T and I've just looked on AliExpress and some say that's 3-4years, some age 4 but from what you say KEgirl perhaps I should have ordered bigger??

How has anyone else who has ordered found the sizes please?

I've been waiting 3 weeks now for her birthday dress so no point re-ordering that bigger as I doubt I would come in time Sad. Oh well I will just have to see what size they all are when they arrive....and hope DD2 likes Frozen by the time she would grow into them Smile.

MyMummyRuns · 17/08/2014 13:02

scrappy I'd get her one and then as an extra (cheap) present why don't you fill a box with a flask, a torch and a blanket along with a note saying how you're going to take her out one evening to go star spotting somewhere a bit more remote? Not sure how far you are from somewhere with less light pollution, but if doable I'm sure she would live it and could be a nice family moment or a chance to spend some quality one on one time together.

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2014 13:05

You can come and camp in my garden Grin not a street light for miles!

scrappydappydoo · 17/08/2014 13:20

oh good idea mymummyruns she loves camping so that might be a good mother/daughter 'thing'. I'm sure we can find a spot. I think she has ideas that she will spot stuff from her bedroom window - which is not going to happen as we live next to an industrial estate with 24/7 lighting.
spotty done - we'll see you in January (btw where do you live?? Grin)

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2014 13:34

Sussex/surrey border Smile not too rural but fairly

zipzap · 17/08/2014 13:44

Thanks for the playmobil school bus, had been wanting that or the ordinary coach to come down for ages and I'd never managed to spot it - it's now on order Grin

If anyone's into crafting christmas stuff yet, the craft superstore has apparently got a flash sale on their festive stuff, just for this weekend (although I only got the email this morning so I guess that means just today!)

www.craftsuperstore.co.uk/Christmas123.html

Some stuff only has 10% off but other stuff has up to 65% by the look of it...

queenoftheschoolrun · 17/08/2014 13:57

The Sylvanian Village Store is now £19.99 on Amazon for all the Sylvanian Families fans out there. Usually £39.99.

Littlemousewithcloggson · 17/08/2014 14:01

heres the link for the playmobil school bus if anyone else wants it to add to last years playmobil school deal!

BuddyKringleberry · 17/08/2014 14:13

I managed to get a £50 Lego turtles set down to £27.99 (plus £5 Lego voucher) by checking my local Argos clearance section online. When I went to collect it instore, i was looking on their new screens they are using for browsing. I went to the Lego section and found a section called Last in Store. I managed to get two more £30 Lego turtle sets for £13/£14 plus had my £5 voucher too, so well worth checking the last in store section if your store has the touch screen browsing as these didnt show up under my Local clearance section online.

Hoping to go back without my kids to have a look through all the Last in Store items.

Hope none of you live near me now I've shared that Grin x

missingwordsround · 17/08/2014 14:20

thanks for the fleece links - have ordered for DH! Thanks

SarahAndFuck · 17/08/2014 14:24

Scrappy we live on a main road on the edge of a housing estate with street lighting on all night, but DH bought a telescope on ebay (secondhand so a bit more for his money) for £120 and it's surprising what you can see with it.

We've seen craters on the moon, various planets, shooting stars and a whole load of other stuff we wouldn't have spotted without it. He's keen to take it somewhere with us where he can see more, but even with the light pollution we get, he's seen plenty.

MyMummyRuns idea is great as well.

Otherwise, could you book her one of those experience days (or rather nights) at an observatory somewhere?

SarahAndFuck · 17/08/2014 14:33

I bought three of these watches last year in various colours for similar prices. This one is currently £1.87 and free postage.

I kept one and gave two as gifts. All three still going strong, quality is good for the price. They are not boxed but as stocking fillers or as part of a hamper style present they are really good value.

I put them in a metal bucket with a purse, scarf and chocolates, in a kind of colour theme arrangement, and they were well received. Whole thing cost about £6 or £7 to put together.

YaMasYaDaWithAWigOn · 17/08/2014 14:34

Instead of a telescope what about a pair of strong binoculars? I've found those a lot easier to use to see stars and things with.
