If you do them? MIL will insist on doing a chocolate filled one for DD because she does one for all of us, so ideally would like to stay away from food items.
Would like ideas so that I can be on the look out now as there are so many sales on.

It's the Christmas thread. There are several threads on the Christmas forum planning Christmas 2014. Yes, I'd like to do this now, but with the other Christmas crazies which is why I'm here. :)

CHRISTMAS Topic.

I don't like chickens so I don't go onto the ChickenHouse Threads.

Loki - my DC are 12 and 14.6 now (I'm guessing your DD is little)

Mine have the Christmas Eve Hamper (that's a whole thread in itself ) and their Stockings because their main presents are money and vouchers (DS likes to save, DD likes to have the freedom to buy what she wants )

I put in:
A pack of those Lindt Minis ( usually 5 in a pack) you do need chocolate
A book
Underwear (much to DS disgust)
Small toy / cards
Diary
Mini torch for DS
Earrings for DD
Lynx/ Impulse body spray

Left at the foot of their beds (originally to keep them occupied when they were little)
We love to hear them whisper, thinking they are being very secretive.

And everything is wrapped. Well wrapped to prolong it.

If you buy two stockings or bags the same you can sneak away the empty one and replace with the full one without being caught

I have older DDs and a primary age DS.

From when they have been small my DDs stockings have contained
Chocolate (Santas when they were small, chocolate orange now)
Christmas themed pants
Slipper socks
A book (Mr Men/Little Miss are good when they are small)
A toy (Lego mini figures are ideal)
Pencils or crayons
Something sparkly (when they were little it was lip gloss - now it is nail varnish)
These days I also include make-up and an iTunes voucher.

DS's is similar but no sparkly stuff - he gets a pack of Top Trumps instead.

Everything wrapped in at least three layers of Christmas tissue paper.

Assorted stationery items
Pants
FC novelty items such as a mug or pop up toy (have to wait until Christmas for these to appear in shops though)
Snow globe
Small toy such as my little pony
Dominos

I am the stocking queen and love doing them - I even do the stockings for my sisters children. My budget is normally £30 but maximise bargains, so normally spend £20.

Under 3
Giant bubble wand, wheeled vehicles like cars, books, matey bubble bath, ball, crayons, puzzles, nursery rhyme cd, play dough, torch.

4-7 year
Mini figures like Spider-Man or my little pony, craft stuff from places like wilkinsons, rucksack, football, stickers, activity books, money box, bendy straw.

8 +
Lip balm, drinks bottle, puzzle book, sweets, finger lights, felt tip pens, notebook, magic tricks, Lego, paint by numbers,

Big bottles of Peppa Pig/Spiderman etc bubble bath fill up a lot of space!

Op, we got a reduced childrens torch with shapes fromJL, shine at celing, dobble, card game and some balloons that you make into animals again JLsale. then will bulk out with oranges, choclate etc..

I always put Christmas socks in,Lynx or some other body spray/shower gel and chocolate coins.

This year I'm going to be trying very hard not to buy rubbish that isn't wanted or needed, the stocking my children have are quite small so there can't be too much squeezed in.

If you can find one a bottle of Coke with their name on it . It's nearly better if you don't normally allow Coke, makes it even better that 'Santa' brought it !

I bought some Lakeland Limited 'milk bottles' to give them milkshake on Christmas Morning.

I'm thinking - a basket (I have those plastic oval ones) with a festive napkin) a croissant (chocolate inside or a mini jam) and the bottle of chilled milkshake (they have a lid) and a straw.

Breakfast to be consumed larding about with toys/TV.

Ooh a milk bottle prefilled with milkshake power so that we can add milk in the morning would be great! DD is only just about to turn 3 so she only has milkshake as a special treat. Thank you for the fab ideas x

They get their Christmas Eve hampers from the EOTS. They have new pjs, slippers, socks, teddy bear, Belle and Boo tins filled with marshmallows and chocolate coins.

Their Christmas Day stockings have the 'boring but useful presents' usually. So cutlery, toothbrush, wash mitt, bubble bath and then a chocolate Santa and small toy which is usually a bath toy and the traditional satsuma.

70isalimit, I love that Christmas breakfast idea, I'm totally stealing it!

little things that are fun - stickers, tiny notebooks, magic fortune telling fish, small bottles of foam bath, choc coins - you know the kind of thing.

oh and satsumas - I am sure I only do this because my mum did it, and her mum did it in turn for her during the war when such things were a real treat!

I don't have dc (yet...) but my DP has had his stocking for the last two years. I love doing it for him and he has the same tat stocking fillers as a kid. He's 42

Our newest 'tradition' is top trumps. They will get a new set in their stockings each year now I think, as DD got her first set last year (monsters university) which went down really well, and DS will appreciate his own set this year too I think (will be 5). I've actually got their sets already as I found bargains on eBay - they are both used but complete. The Incredibles for DS and Roald Dahl for DD.

They always get character undies and socks.

I am going to get some magic milk straws .. They make normal milk taste like milkshake. You can get different flavours.
