We need a new thread to continue the very successful countdowns of 2013 and 2012.

And before anyone does the Hmm face (or Xmas Hmm face ) take a look at some of the 'Panic Threads' at the end of December when people were "Twitching" and stressing.

Organisation is key.

(I just need to find somewhere that'll work out how many days it is Grin )

Autumn doesn't officially start until the 23rd, however, we can get away with getting excited now seeing as the leaves are already turning.

Well i opened up my Christmas savings tin today. £700!
List making starts now and will start picking things up for the kids.
Nearly finished dh, he is easy to buy for. Think ds1 will be tricky this year hes just started sevondary and his interest s are changeable.

Smilesandpiles · 03/09/2014 18:45

Decided I'm going to get some earphone to go in my christmas stocking - I need some desperately and some chocolate. Goin to get myself some sanctuary product to go in the stockings too.

The kids can have ear phones too and minecraft books.

nickdrakeslovechild · 03/09/2014 21:11

I gave in and ordered the Christmas village from studio, it was despatched a couple of days ago and I am desperate to get my hands on it. Blush

Not making much progress at the moment, but I have an impressive number of things ticked off on my lists when I look at them. Still lots to do, but more done than usual at this point of the year.

Hopefully over the weekend, a few of the siblings will get to talk about KK and who wants to do it or not this year.

And I need to order my DBro's birthday present today. Oops!

Bought DD's main present yesterday, so that's her pretty much done. But seems DH may have to work on Christmas Day Sad He works in an office, totally non essential, but they have hourly contracts which means they have to come in whenever they're told, including bank holidays - which they count Christmas as. They don't recognise it as a special day or anything. He's asked to take it as holiday but so has everyone else, naturally, so there's not much chance. He may well get no time of over Christmas at all, apart from Sundays Sad What's worse is, we won't know until early December so we don't know what to plan for - we don't know how much of a Christmas we'll have. I know loads of people have to work at Christmas but when you take an office job for a charity you don't expect to Sad

Smilesandpiles · 05/09/2014 15:16

Oh Ophelia, that it sad. Lets hope that it turns out he won't have to.

I don't want to jinx this but I'm too excited...

I'm getting a kitten tonight - hopefully. I hope it will be tonight, I've been preparing the house just in case. Which means I will have another family member to cater for this christmas - even if it only kitten food. Will have to be careful with the baubles this year and not have the glass ones near the bottom of the tree!

0pheliaBalls · 05/09/2014 18:21

Thank you, Smiles. How exciting, a kitten! Oh I do envy you! We have two cats which came to us at 8 weeks old, they're sisters born a year apart. On each of their first Christmases they were about 4 months old and loved climbing the tree Grin They also loved the sausages, bacon, stuffing, even the roast potatoes. They were a little nervous about all the hoohah at first but the abundance of food soon calmed them!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/09/2014 00:12

Oops (missed out Friday - 111)

So now we're at 110

Smiles squeee @ kitten Grin

Will you make him/her wear a Christmas ribbon for the photos?

We put Santa Hats on the guinea-pigs for their Christmas Eve photos. They are Hmm but put up with it - for 13 seconds- to get the veg trimmings.

I'm not making much progress either, but that's mainly because I have a gorgeous new dd who was born last week! Although I am eyeing up a Christmas pudding outfit for her.

My studio catalogue rider arrived, all the stuff is great - although dh not keen to keep the outdoor lights, I don't think he can face spending hours hanging them up in the cold!

Smilesandpiles · 06/09/2014 09:03

Morning everyone.

Oh please get the Christmas pudding outfit and post pictures Lost. Congratulations on your new daughter. You must be elated and shattered.

The thought of guinea-pigs in Santa hats has made me giggle. What made you think of doing that?

The kitten (5 months) is understandably still very scared. She's eating, drinking and using the litter tray though which is a good sign and explored the house last night when she thought I was sleeping.

She's back underneath the radiator behind the sofa which is usual hiding place for her anyway apparentely. She was roughly handled by the kids at her last home so is even more warey. My two are older than what she is used to so that may help eventually.

DS and I just put a 5-6 pieces of dried food each behind the sofa to help her relate us to good things. We'll so this again about lunch time. (She's moving around now and eating, she's not a quiet eater)

I had a peek at her while she was under the radiator. I forgot just how long they can get Confused...she must be relaxing a bit to get that comfortable.
