We need a new thread to continue the very successful countdowns of 2013 and 2012.

And before anyone does the Hmm face (or Xmas Hmm face ) take a look at some of the 'Panic Threads' at the end of December when people were "Twitching" and stressing.

Organisation is key.

(I just need to find somewhere that'll work out how many days it is Grin )

Little Chocolate Houses (Lakeland mould) 50% success rate. The milk chocolate was fine and being devoured. White chocolate very hard to set and went grainy once set.
(I used eating chocolate and white chocolate is more tempremental)

I will do some in the biscuit recipe (to practice for Christmas )

I'll be baking when the kids go back...I need to...um...concentrate Grin

nickdrakeslovechild · 01/06/2014 16:20

I have the same mould 70 did you temper the chocolate? I tried to make the chocolate penguins in their mould last year, they looked amazing but went all white and mouldy looking (bloom?) about a day later. Not sure how to stop that. I didn't do anything other than melt the eating chocolate nice and slowly then poured into the penguins.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/06/2014 18:29

No not tempered -that's involving higher heat isn't it ?

They did have to go into the fridge a while to set them as the kitchen was warm , I know chocolate isn't meant to go in the fridge, but this batch were a trial batch for our consumption. They ended up looking like something from Cowboy Builders Grin

I'll do Hallowe'en ones with dark chocolate - for me, the DC don't eat dark, more for me >

Maybe white chocolate is too fragile and soft. I've been watching too much ChoccyWoccyDooDah , their chocolate is more flexible but the white chocolate does look dry and grainy plus the blokes hands are in everything Envy vom.

I saw those chocolate moulds in Lakeland at weekend. Yes we finally have a Lakeland up here - hooray!! There was actually some little chocolate houses out, dd was amazed by them.

Thanks to the awesome bargain thread, I now have all my nephews presents and most of dd's.

Smilesandpiles · 03/06/2014 13:43

Yay!

Got DSs' main present today. Just need the smaller things for him then can start on DD who has a birthday 4 weeks before Christmas.

Can't belive it's June and I'm nearly halfway done.
