  • We have a friend with er baby dropping by for a cup of tea and mince pie
  • then the church christingle service - we're not religious but thought it was be nice for toddler. Then home to watch Shrek : Donkeys Xmas carols while I make dinner. Before bed leave out a mince pie and carot for santa and Rudolph.

Once kids are in bed :

  • dh and I will have a nice dinner (warm green salad with prawns and smoked salmon and fries)
  • watch a Xmas film
  • get all the presents laid out in the living room for dc

After a horrible year I'm really looking forward to a nice Xmas.

Elibean, that I you eternally for the heads up re the space station. We caught it, and 3yo DS was delighted to have seen Santa dashing through the sky in his light-up sleigh. Brilliant.

I took DS to nursery

Did some last minute shopping

Wrapped my presents

Cleaned my house

Had a bath

Picked DS up from nursery

Played with DS

Ate dinner with DH and DS

Watched the Peppa Pig Christmas special DVD with DS and DH

Now I am relaxing with a Baileys watching Gremlins as my Kings recording screwed up and listening to DH swear as he builds DS's Crazy Coupe :)

Once he's done that we will settle down to some naice wine and a Breaking Bad boxset

In the bath with my Christmassy bath ballistic. Just finished doing FC stuff.
Been to church crib service with DCs.
Baked a ham
Made a trifle
Eaten too much
Seen a friend
Watched my DS get dizzy with the excitement of it all.
Feel really blessed.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 24/12/2013 22:02

Ran around like a nutter all day. (3 visits to morrisonsConfused) cleaned cooked a ham the size of my leg. Did traditional party shite tea. Made martinis. Drank them.
Everyone have a happy, peaceful day. May all babies decide to sleep through the night, all teenagers be lovely and smiley, all mils become sweetness and light, all twatish partners F off and may all your presents be just what you want (or returnable for cash)
See you on the flip side mnetters. WineThanksBiscuitEnvy

DipMeInChocolate · 24/12/2013 22:24

Almost lost it in Asda when they couldn't print the photo presents I'd ordered.
Presents are now out after a hellish night getting a teething baby to sleep.
I've had a bit too much wine and will regret it in the morning. I'm MNing and will be in bed shortly, DH is watching a Nazi documentary - Xmassy.

Hi, Merry Christmas everyone. Im shattered.

Ive had my family here this afternoon 18 people in all including 7 kids all under 6 complete madness but good fun. Just did a buffet for them and we just had a nice catch up and the kids opened a present each was good fun. OH had to work this morning so i had to juggle setting up and the kids my eldest enjoyed helping though in his santa hat :). Lucky my mum helped clean up while we sorted kids out with bath times and then we all relaxed with polar express on dvd and hot chocolate me and OH a glass of Baileys.

All but 1 ar still awake and thats the baby whos having her last bottle with daddy, my eldest is a really bad sleeper and takes ages to nod off hes not left his bed bless him incae santa sees hes finally asleep took an hour for him so a record..

Gonna chill on pc for a bit while then get some prep done for tomorrow and get pressies under the tree, then thinking of a nice hot bath but ill have to see its cracking on with time lol

Cailleach · 24/12/2013 22:29

Playing with five 10 week old kittens - three of them are leaving us on Saturday for their forever homes.

Still need a home for the little black one though (cough hint hin tcough)

All wrapping etc is done, the house is (fairly clean) and tidy...the tree is finally up..so now it's Mini-Mogs time.

thekitchenfairy · 24/12/2013 23:23

Cat feeding for friend with v sticky front door. It has been persisting t down here for about 4 days. Our door is swollen too.

DH and I popped over an hur or 2 ago to check cat and retrieve stocking presents wrapped and stored in secret away from roaming DSs. We can't get in. Yale luck is not quite turning and not even the required hard shoulder shove is doing it.

I am knackered and soaked, DH the same and google has offered no help so I am warming up with coffee and quick MN. Before I ponder our next step start to sob.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 25/12/2013 00:19

I am knackered.
I've waited for DSs to be asleep so I can put their stockings on their beds.

Mrswellyboot · 25/12/2013 00:24

We have a very early start in the morning so we just did santa with the baby and swapped our presents. I got my favourite perfume, the annabel book on weaning and a blue nappy charm for my bracelet (I cried, a lot.. I didn't need any presents as waited so long to get pregnant I think if I got a nappy I would have been happy), a toaster (ours is kaput) and storage box.

Happy Christmas.

CheerfulYank · 25/12/2013 03:34

Wrapping the last of the presents...it's still Christmas Eve here. :) We had caramel apple cider and watched Charlie Brown Christmas; now that the kiddos are in bed DH and I are will finish up and watch A Family Man.

Feel a bit numb tbh...my grandmother died this morning. She was the last of my grandparents and though it was coming (she was in hospice) I don't know what to do or how to feel. She wasn't very old (74 or 5, can never remember) and was the crabbiest, bluntest woman alive. She was forever calling us fat and thinking of ways to save money (most of them ridiculous) and wanting to be alone and oh, I will miss her awfully.

200Cigarettes · 25/12/2013 04:01

cheerful I'm so sorry for your loss! it must be horrible for you. X

CheerfulYank · 25/12/2013 04:31

Thank you.

It's all very odd...it's my DD's first Christmas and I find myself getting caught up in it all and being happy, and then remembering that my Grandma is gone, and it all feels wrong. It doesn't quite seem real yet. Anyway, hope I didn't bring down the thread! I'm just finishing up the last of the presents and I am really excited to watch the DCs open them. :)

TheRealAmandaClarke · 25/12/2013 06:20

cheerfulyank Thanks sorry about your grandmother.

NearTheWindmill · 25/12/2013 07:21

Hey Cheerful Yank my santa tracker says he's between Sioux Falls and Lincoln. Enjoy Christmas and cast sadness away. Have a lovely day with your dd today - there's time enough for practicalities tomorrow.
