How have I got to the ripe old age of not-quite-but-nearly 40 and not known that Mud, yes Mud, recorded this song?

I am totally shocked [shocked].

Watched TOTP 2013 last night...and there they were...with some bloody puppet..I can not express my confusion, embarrassment, disbelief.

Can anyone else join me....and make me feel less of a....knob?

And I say that as someone who saw him live.

Les was chosen to sing the song because his Elvis impersonation rocked.

Elvis did record the song too though...

But.. but. He DID sing a version though didn't he.

Quite a few people have done cover version.

Elvis may have sung it, but he definitely didn't release it before Mud. And I'm pretty sure he didn't record it in the two and a half years between the Mud No1 and his death.

I knew it was Mud as I was 14 then. I don't think Elvis ever did it.
