what possessed me to buy silver crackers?

my christmas table is red and gold, obviously, why wouldn't it be? and yet I bought silver crackers

Me too.
I'm red, gold and green and have silver crackers. And they're enormous. One of the prizes is a chess set ffs.

I bought them in November as well so I can't say I got swept away with the Christmas madness.

My table is cream and gold. My sister has been told to being gold crackers or christmas will be over.

Well I'm glad you see the funny side of my christmas table, it's a plain ol' table every other day but at christmas it's a christmas table and you might not have noticed but I have got a frigging disaster here, what with my silver crackers, and you're tickled? What happened to solidarity and sympathy on MN?

You just put gold ribbon round them and they will look fab

I thought you meant, like, sterling silver - I was thinking super posh monogrammed ones that play an aria when pulled.

Plain ole paper ones - just buy the same number of gold ones to put next to them, as though you were trying for an effect.

I took a gamble and put the red paper tablecloth on today. DD has spilt a bit of beans on it. Christmas is ruined.

OMG the cutlery! why don't I have gold cutlery? (does anyone have gold cutlery), and I thought the silver crackers were a disaster.....

You could buy a new table cloth, napkins etc to match the crackers.
