I didn't even realise the last thread was nearly at the end Blush

As usual I'll stick the long OP in the next message, but haven't been so diligent about keeping it updated since it's so close to Christmas and it's all slowed down, sorry.

Thank you so much to Reastie and everyone who has taken the time to post discount codes and links to presents. Yes, I've bought a lot :-) , but everything has been barganious (and/or wonderfully bizarre!).

Dd's birthday is on Christmas Day (she'll be 11 this year) so it's an expensive time of year and can be tricky thinking of affordable bits and pieces to get for her- not this year, I'm really chuffed with all the presents I've bought thanks to these threads! Thanks

I twitched. Oops. Got a Playmobil farm house with shop for DD2 on amazon £29.90 and it is around £50 elsewhere. It was with money from GPs which I was going to put away, but her pile looks so small. I blame MN for getting me to compare piles and count gifts Grin

I am twitching Asda have dropped the price of the ninja turtles pizza playset. I refused to pay 22 as there's not much too it but it would go with all the other Tmnt stuff and is only 14 now plus staff discount....hmmm

Don't know if these have been mentioned before, I have only just discovered them!
But Homebase are selling 3d christmas glasses, when you look at any lights with them they create Snowmen, Reindeer etc on the lights depending on what ones you have.
You can definitely get instore, think £1.99 each.

Christmas market today and trying to avoid the twitch.

I haven't wrapped a single sodding thing yet. I will be there at 4am on Christmas morning at this rate. I am clearly turning into my nana.

Sainsburys have some good offers on toys - half price games, 25-50% off Lego, several big sets of stuff that they have obviously got in for Christmas rather than regular stock have also got 50% off. They'd already been knocked down 1-2 times.

I am all wrapped thank goodness. Ran out of sticky labels though so a couple have just initials on them.

Report
Waitingforflo · 22/12/2013 10:02

Do you remember those initial/alphabet china mugs from ages and ages ago (very early thread I think)? Home Bargains has them for 59p each - so either a great last minute gift, or a disaster as recipients might assume they came from there anyway!

Lots of annuals in there for £1 too - Skylanders, Moshi Monsters

Pondworld had Harry Hill hardback and lots of other Skylanders books.

Sainsburys have Lego storage heads for half price

My next shopping trip will be late on Xmas Eve to get the Top Shop and River Island sales for teenagers Sad but town was actually really quiet yesterday, so maybe everyone is more organised this year.

neddle I can't find the glasses online at Homebase but they definitely had them in store.
No idea how to do a link, sorry, but there are some on eBay. The ones there are mostly from America and in large packs but it would let you see what they look like.
Hope that helps a little!

waitingforflo I bought the alphabet mugs from home and bargains, rrp price on label says £6. I have put marshmallows and hot chocolate sachets and wrapped in cellophane for 2 of my nephews, and put another with a DVD and popcorn for my goddaughter.

Thank you to everyone who has posted bargains it's the 1st Christmas I have not gone in to debt, I have even got 4 birthday presents sorted. I hope everyone loves there presents as much as I have loved spending so little Xmas Grin

Merry Christmas to you all Thanks

nanny can you remember which aisle they were in at Home Bargains? Was it with all the Christmas decs? They sound fab but I don't have the energy to go searching the whole storeGrin.

cadence I have no idea! It was my boss that bought them. It was Homebase though, not Home Bargains. I would think it would be amongst the Xmas stuff though.

Are the 3D glasses in Homebase or Home Bargains please? Confused!

I need to go to home bargains. I resisted the mugs before, but at 59p that would be just rude not to Grin

Any magazine subscriptions knocking about? I have cancelled both the rhianna and the Murad ones, but want more! I thought I had ordered the Dove, but had ordered the Murad instead.

I bought dd a cheap hobby horse online ages ago. I've just got it out to wrap and it's broken Sad I know I should have checked it but there was so much shitty wrapping round it I couldn't be bothered didn't think I'd need to. It's completely snapped at the bottom Sad
