I didn't even realise the last thread was nearly at the end Blush

As usual I'll stick the long OP in the next message, but haven't been so diligent about keeping it updated since it's so close to Christmas and it's all slowed down, sorry.

OP posts:

Went to my local tesco today and their christmas reductions were laughable. Wrapping paper still £1.40, some things not even half price. Didn't get anything. They had loads left too. Wonder when they'll really lower the price to a decent reduction Hmm

nickdrakeslovechild · 08/01/2014 20:06

I know Reastei I was shocked at the prices in store at Tesco!

nickdrakeslovechild · 08/01/2014 20:08

doh Reastie damn little keyboard

2kidsintow · 08/01/2014 20:59

Morrisons was much better today. Wrapping paper and cards down to 15p. Christmas sprinkles 15p. Silicon baking festive moulds, 49p, boxes of the mixed sweets down to 48p. I got lots for my classroom. Selection packs down to 78p too.

I've been missing these threads, haven't had a chance to get on here recently.

But for all those who have been here since the beginning - do you realise that we've read nearly 30,000 bargain posts!!!! (given this is the 30th thread and is still clocking up posts) ShockGrin

That is an amazing number of posts, threads and bargains - so many thanks Reastie for keeping it all running so smoothly; you've helped so many people save so much money and give such fantastic presents as well as finding bargains for themselves. Very much appreciated!

I worked out that I've probably spent about £100 each on ds1 & 2 - and saved about £200 on one, £250 on the other, not to mention all the other savings made on presents for others. 'D'M was complaining that I had bought much too much for the dc, that I should have been more like my sis who'd bought her eldest 2 dc an ipad mini and a galaxy tab, and just a few other presents. I pointed out that I had spent considerably less in total on both dc (including managing to get Black Friday Kurio tablets for each dc) that dsis had spend on one ipad mini so actually, who was being the extravagant one and who had been the sensible thrifty one... Grin

And as for the finger lights - I bought a load for the school's christmas fete where they went down a storm despite being sold for 50p each, so that raised about £200 for the school which was great. And I'd bought some for me instead of crackers to have on the table when I had all my family around after christmas. Everybody pounced on them and had lots of fun with them except BIL who complained about them and was really miserable about them before he'd even sat down at the table. So he took himself off to the lounge to eat in solitary confinement result AngryHmm apart from him expecting my sis to wait on him, he wouldn't even come in to get his food, grumpy old sod. And today I emptied my washing machine and found two left behind after a wash, both working perfectly, as was the third that I found after it had been washed and tumble dried. Pretty good for 11p each I thought!

zipzap · 08/01/2014 22:04

Oh and after all that, I forgot to post my bargain Blush

Anyhow, if you have a waitrose loyalty card (the my waitrose card that gets you free coffee in store and a free paper if you spend over a fiver), it seems that if you order online from them, if you spend more than £50 not only do you get free delivery but you get a free bottle of champagne too. Cheers!

daddykyller · 08/01/2014 23:34

Sorry if this has been mentioned already- Ebay are actually having a big sale from all their outlet places etc. It's places like the argos outlet, thebedshop, and superdry (the jackets brand) as well as top ebay shops. Up to 60% off it says:
ebaysaletop_picks
Plenty of cool toys and all sorts of other stuff.

And also Amazonnewyear_deals keeps throwing up interesting things every day. Some bargains to be had on there yet I'll bet :)

MooseyMoo · 09/01/2014 09:39

Hello! Just noticed your all still here, glad as have missed this thread and it's the first pay day of the year tomorrow Grin

I got some cards from Clinton's yesterday at least 75% off. One box should have been £15, I paid £2 odd. DS1 is home today with tonsillitis and I have decided to write them. I'm crap with getting them out usually so should have no excuses as long as I don't forget about them

Gladvent · 09/01/2014 14:06

Warning - Hotel Chocolat declined my quidco cashback, do keep an eye on your account. This was in December - I raised a claim/dispute thingy but no reply yet.

Nix01 · 09/01/2014 14:32

daddykyller · 09/01/2014 20:28

Mega Bloks Thomas At The Sodor Paint Shop HALF PRICE at £19.99 on Amazon right now. Might not go this low again? So probably the best time to buy if you are looking for Duplo sized block stuff, or that kind of thing.

nickdrakeslovechild · 09/01/2014 20:42

was driving past morrisons and bought this for £5.00! another present going up in the loft!

nickdrakeslovechild · 09/01/2014 20:44

mum2jakie · 09/01/2014 21:01

daddykyller · 09/01/2014 22:02

Mega Bloks Thomas Deluxe Starter Set

2kidsintow · 09/01/2014 22:23

HTH, Nick. :) Glad you got a bargain. :)

My dotcomshop stuff arrived. The brollies weren't the best quality as someone on here did warn me, but they are really light so they are good for DD1 (high school so too cool for a coat) to keep in the bottom of her bag without it weighing her down.

I didn't really need more, but I'm sad I didn't order more of the scented candles shaped like chocolates. I expected them to be much smaller for the 39p but they fill the palm of my hand and smell lovely.

daddykyller · 09/01/2014 22:51

If anyone is trying to quit smoking for a new year resolution or whatever other reason, I've just seen Lloyds pharmacy are doing better than half price patches and strips etc right now. Hope that helps someone save a bit of money.
