I didn't even realise the last thread was nearly at the end Blush

As usual I'll stick the long OP in the next message, but haven't been so diligent about keeping it updated since it's so close to Christmas and it's all slowed down, sorry.

Oh no Reastie! I think my parents were quite pleased with the hampers I put together Confused

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2014 18:51

Rightsaidthread I just had a peek at the dotcom shop and spent £30! I am very pleased with my bargains, and also bought 10 Choc candles. Rude not to really. Also bought two lengths of bunting. I was going to make some, but not when I can buy it at that price. So thank you Thanks

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2014 18:52

Reastie, clearly they have no taste.

CadenceRoastingByAnOpenFire The Body Shop blues continue. My undelivered, cancelled and refunded order turned up today half an hour after a text from delivery company. Phoned Bodyshop and was asked to return package to nearest store and keep the cheapest item in the box for free.

Still never got a reply from my original emails when I waited in for deliveries and had to buy from store losing my discount. I still don't know if Bodyshop or the delivery company mucked up. I was disappointed in the customer service but I have a few family fans of body shop so will still be using them.

Auntiebaba · 02/01/2014 20:35

Some good bargains at Debenhams especially when getting an extra 10% off with code. It's either RP26 or PR26, I can't remember which now! I got a tweety pie pillow pet for £6 odd, galt wooden barn for just under £6 and a frog pillow pet for £5.40. Free click and collect too.

2kidsintow · 02/01/2014 21:04

Still a brilliant thread.

I've just checked out the dotcomgiftshop and love the look of lots of the sale items.

I've limited myself to buying a couple of the good-quality looking umbrellas for £1.29 each (perfect for DD for school and a spare for a gift for an auntie) and the chocolate scented candles that look just like belgian chocolates for 39p each. I've ordered 10 because that's how many friends I have coming to my 40th birthday party. It's being held in a sweet shop and they will be perfect party favours.

Re book people ... Every time before i do an order I do a google search on free delivery for book people and usually one of the voucher sites gives one up.. I had a £18 order last night and I used winter for 10% off followed by happy for free delivery and I had an email today to say they are being shipped.

Aldwick · 02/01/2014 21:13

A party in a sweet shop - that sounds AMAZING!

2kidsintow · 02/01/2014 21:17

I hope so. You get to take your own alcohol, paint ceramics (taking care not to wash your brush in your alcohol), eat pancakes, make your own ice cream sundaes and eat sweeties. :) :)

ReastieYuleANBU · 02/01/2014 21:26

Damn you dotcomgiftshop, I've just spent £25 there! Bought some of the chocolate candles and some other bits and pieces. FWIW 2kids I bought a couple of their sale umbrellas last year and they arrived looking pretty cheap. I haven't actually used them as gifts as not sure who to give them to, so expect basic and hopefully you won't have a let down like me. They have their jelly moulds in the sale but I'm sure I bought mine for something ridiculous like 40p and they are over £1 for the same one I got last year. Maybe their prices will further reduce in time.

Bought 10 meters of christmas wrapping paper earlier for 50p and a choc advent calendar best before after christmas 2014 for 29p. Feeling very bargainous today Grin

leavesalmond, I wondered if your 'lost' order would turn up. The cheek of them telling you to take it to their store, if they want it they should arrange for it to be collected! Actually they should've let you keep it all to make up for messing you around re staying in for deliveries that didn't show up, running around replacing stuff and having to pay double the price for the privilege! You sound very calm about it all! I wish I wouldn't let stuff like this wind me up so much (you are clearly a nicer person than me Grin).

Thank you for the book people codes :)

leavesalmondoutofit · 02/01/2014 23:21

thank you for the compliment CadenceRoastingByAnOpenFire. I never used to be calm and i still have my moments.

Very bargainous Xia Xia toys for girls 4 and up if anyone is looking for anything. Confetti Cottage £10.50 reduced to £1.99. Further discount for W50 works on women's clothes not sure about toys.

My deal of the day was my phone. Didn't really need a new one but I needed to reduce my monthly cost.

I am on orange, I called them they offered Samsung Galaxy Fame and £11.99 a month AND £5.40 to deliver. I declined I already had looked up prices and I was not paying for delivery.

Same deal with Orange through Tesco website and £50 cashback. I only ordered through Tesco to avoid paying delivery Grin. I could really have gone sim only not yet ready for the frugaleers

Any chance of a link to that phone deal, Leavesalmodoutofit? Was the cashbach through quidco?

snowgirl1 · 03/01/2014 12:09

Just popping back on to say thanks to whoever posted the Robofish (I think that's what is was called - little battery operated swimming fish for the bath). Bought for DD's stocking - she's afraid of it, but DH loves it!

TwatWeevil · 03/01/2014 12:12

(old-timer returning under a nc)

I've been to M&S and wasn't impressed with their "sale" prices overall but did get a few bits of Christmassy clothing (slippers £4) for the DCs for next year.

One thing I did like was the sleepover bags in the sale, for girls and boys around £10-14 including PJs, washcloth, teddy. Also online. Have stashed away a couple of those.

poopooheadwillyfatface · 03/01/2014 12:45

HFW Veg Every Day book is currently a fiver on Amazon in hardback. I've had it from the library but for a fiver I'm going to buy one.

leavesalmondoutofit · 03/01/2014 13:13

"LaTrucha" I was directed from Tesco phone shop to dialaphone. Dialaphone is part of phones for you. Offer not on Tesco website today but is on phones4you

RhondaJean · 03/01/2014 13:30

Was it dotcom gift shop we all did stocking orders from in Thr sale in about August? Grow your own sunflowers and things?

If so I ordered two of the umbrellas then - black with blue dots and white with red dots. I've been using the white one myself and I can honestly say tis been the best umbrella I have ever had, it's very flexible so when it blows inside out it doesn't snap, just bends, and it's lightweight as well. And I haven't lost it yet which is a huge bonus!

Highly recommended if its the same site.

LaTrucha · 03/01/2014 14:04

Thankyou. I am totally cluless about phones. I have a very cheap pay as you go, but for £11.99 a month I may try something more swanky. I spend about £10 per month topping up.

LaTrucha · 03/01/2014 14:08

Sorry. Do you know if you have to buy lots of other stuff to go with it, or is it just the phone you need? I really am clueless.
