The food for the food bank. Genuinely . Because we've not done it before (the choose a diff charity each December, totally their choice). So I'm looking forward to choosing, getting the most for our money, & the change of scene, for want of a better way to express it!

Some UGG earmuffs that I think my SIL will really like but couldn't afford herself. A print of a dandy fox as my sister is obsessed with them. My DDs ultimate hoodie from jack wills..she is dying for one but knows they are v expensive.

I have managed to keep it secret so far. Its a hall cupboard thats usually full of crap which is in the attic now and I painted it while they were in school. Sadly dh will have to do the final bits as I broke my ankle though Sad but I can't wait to stick a big bow on the door and let them figure it out on christmas morning.

HerrenaHarridan · 07/12/2013 17:28

A beautiful lamp for my mum

A chewbacca (sp?) rucksack for my niece

Hair chalks for a friend

Surprise Spa break for another friend

101 cookie cutters for dd

I'm seriously impressed that you've kept an entire cupboard secret!!!

AngelsLieToKeepControl · 07/12/2013 17:34

Grin it's not that impressive, usually when it's opened half a ton of junk falls out so everyone avoids it at all costs anyway. I'm a bag of nerves every time they play hide and seek though.

MuffCakes · 07/12/2013 17:37

I have finally given in and bought my ds Lego. He is going to be over the moon! Everyone's houses we go round the first thin he does is play with their Lego so I know his face on Xmas morning when he sees this Lego castle is going to be amazing!

I have my dds presents but I am so tempted to get her the new Pokemon game. She won't be expecting it hasn't asked for it but would be 100% bowled over.

Exh lives abroad and sent ds a wii u last month. Unfortunately ds dropped the console so i sent it away to be fixed. It's arrived back at home but i've told ds that it wont come back til at least january so he'll be thrilled, and now it's a surprise again!

I WANT A BOOK NOOK! What a fab idea.

3littlebadgers · 07/12/2013 18:21

I am so jealous about the book nook! Please adopt me (and my three children) just so we can hang about in your secret cupboard. [thinking about which cupboard I could secretly nookicate]

GwendolineMaryLacey · 07/12/2013 18:25

Nothing I've got anyone comes close to a book nook. I desperately want one now.

VeryStressedMum · 07/12/2013 18:39

I want a book nook for MYSELF!!

Zamboni · 07/12/2013 18:46

I want a book nook too!!

Looking forward to giving my Dad his present. He frequently bores us all to tears with tales of his university days sorting prowess so I ordered a fleece with that university insignia and personalised the embroidery.

AngelsLieToKeepControl · 07/12/2013 19:50

I was given some advice on here to have a look on pintrest for book nooks. There are millions of ideas for them and loads are just a little corner of a bedroom or under a bed or under the stairs. One I saw was a mosqito net, some fairy lights, a little book shelf and a beanbag and it looked lovely.

Guitargirl · 07/12/2013 20:00

Angels - we have done something very similar this year for our DCs. The cupboard under the stairs was painted by DP while we were away over half-term. A shed is arriving next week to hold all the crap that is normally in there. I also hover on the stairs with my heart in my mouth every time they play hide and seek! We have put a large heavy suitcase in front of the door and when other children come over to play we reinforce the suitcase with a dryer full of washing. Am just crossing fingers we can get to Christmas Day...

how big a cupboard is required for nookdom?
I am excited to give DH a rare book it has taken me a couple of years to track down. His face will be a picture.

LumpySpacePrincessOhMyGlob · 07/12/2013 20:13

Dd is mad about Adventure Time. We've got her a Lady Rainacorn scarf and she is going to love it so much.
