I have got my mum the White Queen box set as she was so upset she missed it when it was on TV this year as she was in hospital for ages ... She's fine now though :-). Also a set of books, about Elizabeth I and the new Robbie Williams CD. From the kids: a calendar with photos of the kids on (which she has come to expect but loves), probably a school photo of my 3 girls in a frame...if it's a nice one! it'll be the first one as youngest has just started) and some smellies.

Possibly a 2014 wall calendar
Possibly a voucher (Kindle or Starbucks)

Heavymetalmater · 24/11/2013 21:39

Ciderwithbuda how about some cd's with music she loved. It may trigger happy memories. Or maybe some nice hand cream. My grandmother used to love me to sit with her and rub cream into her hands.

She is to the point in her life where she doesn't want more "stuff". If I give her an actual object of any kind, she gives it back in 6 months time with a "Thanks. I've enjoyed it, but now I'm done with it" I suppose I could start choosing things that I like, knowing I'll get them back.

The past few years I have given her a nice package of consumables...fancy chocolates, a few bottles of wine, some nice jams etc. She enjoys trying new things but won't spend the money herself.

A jumper from Monsoon
A gilet from Lands End
Silver earrings

Blithereens · 25/11/2013 12:21

She's getting some posh perfume, a heated percussion massager, a knitting bag, some naice hand cream for gardeners, some stuff from Lush, and these from the Science Museum shop, which I thought were cool www.sciencemuseumshop.co.uk/home/outdoor/water_from_a_stone.htm

I'm also making her some business cards as she's doing very well making and selling beautiful greeting cards. It's a surprise, she doesn't know. I've set up Twitter, Etsy and Gmail accounts for her business too! It's the present I'm most excited about tbh.

Hazelbrowneyes · 25/11/2013 12:25

I’ve bought:
A watch
Bootie slippers (in the wrong size. Doh)
A bracelet
A snood
Christmas socks
Christmas earrings
Dove shower gel
A white musk gift set
Perfume

Will probably buy her some chocolates, a CD, PJs and a jumper as well.

sparklysilversequins · 25/11/2013 12:28

OneLittleLady · 25/11/2013 13:04

Not Mum (she passed away two years ago) but Dp's Mum is getting a Laura Mercier bath set, a Ted Baker silk scarf and some grey suede gloves.

fuzzpig · 25/11/2013 13:29

Proper headphones (that's what she said when I asked if there's anything she needs) and some no7 stuff as that's always a winner

MooseyMoo · 25/11/2013 13:44

For my DM: Lorraine Pascal cookbook, Ruby & Ed slippers (from Jan sales), Yankee Candle, Body Shop smellies.

For my MiL: L'Occitane smellies (for her birthday have bought Scented Hyacinths in a basket)
