I've got my mum some brandy, tickets to a show and her fave chocs.

TeaAndCakeOrDeath · 23/11/2013 10:39

'Beautiful' box set by Estee Lauder
2 teddies with pictures of the kids on
'Cathy come home' dvd

JemimaMuddledUp · 23/11/2013 15:58

For Christmas I have ordered my mum a hamper of goodies from a local deli. They make them up to order so will take into account the fact that she is a teetotal vegetarian!

Her birthday is also a few days before Christmas. For that I have bought her a lovely green silk scarf and a book about cricket.

Brandnewmamma · 23/11/2013 16:00

A lovely brooch.. Matches a set she has

Body shop stuff

I am considering a full length mirror for her.. I don't know

123rd · 23/11/2013 16:01

Tickets for her and My dad to see comedian

AtticusMcPlatypus · 23/11/2013 16:02

Alfie Boe CD
Pandora charm she has been hinting about
Smellies of some sort

Golddigger · 23/11/2013 16:07

Books.

What she does want at some point is professional photographs of her children and grandchildren and herself.
I hate having my photograph taken. But cannot put this off for much longer.

BabyDubsEverywhere · 23/11/2013 16:21

All of Downton abbey!
Some leather gloves
Thorntons
Malteesers
Tinned Salmon - (don't ask!)
And the obligatory school photo of the dc.

CiderwithBuda · 23/11/2013 16:27

No idea. She is in a nursing home and has dementia. Coherent sometimes. Miserable most of the time. Last year I put together a hamper of chocolate goodies and nice biscuits. This year she is losing her ability to swallow so is on a soft food diet. Pyjamas make her angry. Maybe a shawl. I think she will hate it though. Reinforces where she is.

For MIL so far I have two nice mugs and a necklace and earrings set from M&S.

Weeantwee · 23/11/2013 16:43

I'm getting mum some National Garden vouchers - she usually has a lovely garden but she has been out of work for a long time so hasn't been able to afford to maintain it. Last time I was home it was such a shame to see her garden looking so bare. :(

For her birthday, two days after, I have bought a pair of boots that she wants. It's her 60th this year!

Gorran · 23/11/2013 16:44

Clarins body cream and shower gel and a ticket to see 'The Commitments'.

Choccyjules · 23/11/2013 16:49

So far posh sox and glittens but stumped as to the main pressie. Wondering about a box set but she already has lots. Thorn birds?!

Ditto stumped for mil who has opposite taste to me and has probably never opened much of what we've given her in the past. She likes to garden so we spent extra on an outdoor clock. She put in in the living room.

bigTillyMint · 23/11/2013 16:55

Lakeland hamper
USB with this years photos for her digital photo-frame

TeaOneSugar · 23/11/2013 20:05

Slippers and dressing gown, she picked both herself.

MIL is getting a purse, umbrella and scarf. She pointed out the purse to DH the rest is a hopeful guess.

TheSurgeonsMate · 23/11/2013 20:10

Ah, bigtilly maybe my mum needs a digital photo frame?

PublicEnemyNumeroUno · 23/11/2013 20:12

Ive got my mum a lovely money box/jar from Clinton's and a box of chocs, going to buy her a nice charm for her handbag too.

Purple2012 · 23/11/2013 20:13

Im getting my mum a pamper day voucher. It will cost me twice over as I am going with her and we will make a day of it.

SarahFx · 23/11/2013 20:40

A Hairy Bikers diet cookbook.

Handpainted elephant from a pop up shop in the metro centre. Doesn't sound much but it was £50.

Bottle of Pouilly Fume.

bigTillyMint · 23/11/2013 20:50

The digital photoframe is great as she can show her friends while they have a cuppa! Plus she can't really manage much on her aged laptop - the photoframe is much easier as she just turns it on!

QOD · 23/11/2013 20:51

Hot air balloon flight
