Found out today someone has hacked into my tesco account, boosted my £100 tesco vouchers to £200 , spent them and delivered to an address 300 miles away. Gutted - that was the kids presents and my experience of today - spending all day on phone- is it may be feb before getting vouchers back. I know nobody can help - just wanting a bit of hand-holding

Oh no :(

Keep on at Tesco in as many ways as you can: phone, email and Twitter. Try and talk to someone higher up the chain and really lay it on thick.

nilbyname · 18/11/2013 22:02

Why will it take so long to get the vouchers back? If it is fraud surely it could be more straightforward?

Gutted for you, what a shitty thing to do!

Have you been on the bargain threads? How old are your kids?

InSurrey · 18/11/2013 22:02

Have you called the police?

If you have an address they must be able to track them down?

How awful, Im so sorry x

piratecat · 18/11/2013 22:02

oh bloody hell. how can someone do that, how 'do' you do that? Sad

sadmum1000 · 18/11/2013 22:08

Yes told the police and no idea how someone has my password. Police said criminals are v sophisticated and have systems to work out pAssword (I thought mine was pretty damn good but what do I know)
Tesco been nice but after whole day of calls still vague as to when I can get vouchers back and if it's feb, I lose the boost option.

I've apparently bought a Hudl, a rug and a light fitting to be delivered to Reading,

OP posts:
InSurrey · 18/11/2013 22:14

If it hasn't been delivered yet why on earth aren't Tesco cancelling the order?

HomeIsWhereTheHeartIs · 18/11/2013 22:18

This happened to my mam last week - she rang Tesco and they reimbursed her straight away. They could see the points had been spent hundreds of miles from where she lives.
Don't panic!

Theimpossiblegirl · 18/11/2013 22:25

They have the address, someone must be able to do something. I really hope they get this sorted.

WallyBantersJunkBox · 18/11/2013 22:40

Keep on at them op.

Stealing Clubcard vouchers WTAF? They must be pretty dim though to have a delivery address? Unless it's an empty property.

sadmum1000 · 18/11/2013 23:26

But if it's an empty property, who collects delivery? Police have given me a crime no but said wont action it as I have To contact their inherent fraud squad.. If I lived closer I would be checking out the house!

There's a cut off for reissuing vouchers sounds like you've missed that their only option after that is to give you a gift voucher. Or that was how it was when I worked in there call centre when I was at uni. They also sometimes used to do an extra run at the start of December, but not every year.

Keep pushing the hardship line & hope for a gift card.

sadmum1000 · 18/11/2013 23:38

Thanks scariest. will phone again
tomorrow.

WallyBantersJunkBox · 19/11/2013 00:08

People try all sorts - it could be a member of the Post Office or a Parcel delivery service who could just give an empty address for example.

Hope you have some luck tomorrow.

sleepdodger · 19/11/2013 00:10

Hi do you have cpp or similar? Would be covered through that if so? X

ChippingInLovesAutumn · 19/11/2013 00:14

You should ring the local Reading police station, ask them to check the address out.

morethanpotatoprints · 19/11/2013 00:14

Go to your papers with your story and Tesco will give you lots so they get good publicity in run up to Christmas.
Worth a try.

ChippingInLovesAutumn · 19/11/2013 00:15

It's awful how common this sort of thing is in the run up to Christmas.

BillyBanter · 19/11/2013 00:17

Contacting them on twitter is very public and they may be more keen to help you out before christmas.

TheCrackFox · 19/11/2013 00:22

I have a friend who works at Tesco bank and apparently this happens all the time.

Sorry, not very helpful.

GlitteredPinecones · 19/11/2013 06:51

How awful :( I agree with tweeting them. Hope it gets sorted for you ASAP.

milk · 19/11/2013 07:33

I am so sorry this has happened to you :(

To be honest I am absolutely disgusted about how many times this has happened to people, and how Tesco seems to be doing nothing to beef up security measures!

TheXmasLogIn · 19/11/2013 09:34

Surely Tesco should at least try to contact the person who has placed the order, they always ask me for a telephone number, even for store pickup orders. It may be a case of someone mistakenly thinking they had logged into their own account and not realising. I did this once somehow, though not with Tesco Blush but noticed the error straight away. I know I'm being optimistic but I can't believe a person would do something like this on purpose Sad

milk · 19/11/2013 12:49

Any results?

DuffyMoon · 19/11/2013 12:56

happened to me a couple of weeks ago, Tesco less than helpful - Good Luck
