Which ones do you like?

I have liked white company's winter (I think) and I had a lovely one called warm mince pie one year.

I came on to say white company winter ! The only one I really love.

culturemulcher · 15/11/2013 18:14

If you're not horrified by the price, Diptyque Baies. Definitely.

Methe · 15/11/2013 18:14

Sainsburys Christmas spice candle, every year. I also use the oil for the burner.

GlitteredPinecones · 15/11/2013 18:20

I've got these ones. Can't wait to start using them.

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 15/11/2013 18:23

Another vote for White Company's Winter candle.

thefirstmrsrochester · 15/11/2013 18:30

I'm a scented candle virgin. I bought Yankee Candles in sparking cinnamon and in spiced orange to try. House smells lovely. Will get one of the white company one. The diptyque one might have to go on my Xmas list. Is it frightfully expensive?

TallulahTwinkle · 15/11/2013 18:31

I have never tried the Yankee candles. Diptyque are ones I have always wanted, read once that Jo whiley scents her house with Feu de Bois at Christmas (don't know why that useless information sticks in my head!)

Will sniff the sainsburys one when I'm next shopping.

In the meantime I have ordered the winter ones from white company Blush

There is 20%off and free delivery!

Always the White Co., 'Winter'.

culturemulcher · 15/11/2013 19:18

mrsrochester for a candle? yup. I think so. About £45 I think. But they last and they're the best.

Likeaninjanow · 15/11/2013 19:20

Another vote for white co 'winter'!

Rosa · 15/11/2013 19:23

NOt the Ikea red tea lights that smell lovely unlit but don't even whiff when you light them ...but they were cheap !

Draculasbride · 15/11/2013 19:25

Check out Scentsy wickless candles they have some amazing Christmassy smells and are completely safe around kids/pets etc...plus you only use a couple of cubes of wax at a time so you can switch smells if you get bored Smile

Loobylou123 · 15/11/2013 20:49

Ever tried woodwick? Not sure on a Christmas scent but have had a few of this brand and they smell beautiful lit and unlit. They crackle as they burn too which is nice.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 15/11/2013 20:55

Well, I bought a Waitrose one last week after multiple recommendations on another thread and it is useless, no perceptible smell, even when it has been burning for an hour or so.

I don't like any of the current crop of Yankee Christmas ones, spent quite a while sniffing them all in a shopping centre last week, Sparkling Cinnamon was the best of the bunch.

Flossiechops · 15/11/2013 20:56

Adore The White Company Winter too - just adore it Smile

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 15/11/2013 20:58

What does the White Co one smell of?

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 15/11/2013 22:08

WhoKnows, the White Co one smells of cinnamon, clove and orange - but non of the scents are overwhelming, they just blend together. No chemical smell either. I find Yankee ones too cloying and synthetic.

dementedma · 15/11/2013 22:09

Try Skye Candles Winter Warmer. It is gorgeous

snooter · 15/11/2013 22:11

I hate all of them & they invariably make my husband sneeze & wheeze

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 15/11/2013 22:12

Thar sounds lovely Life, agree about most of the Yankee ones being a bit cloying, I have some of their Christmas tealights from years ago, a long discontinued fragrance, which are lovely but have had to ration them to a couple a year and only a couple left now.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/11/2013 23:01

The new season Yankee Candles all smell like socks Hmm but I love
Sparkling Cinnamon ( it's got cloves as well)
Salted Caramel

DD likes Sugared Apples

M0naLisa · 15/11/2013 23:48

At the moment im burning Febreeze Winter Berry and Spiced Apple and it smells gorgeous

Oldraver · 16/11/2013 00:29

OH bought Sainsburys Christmas Spice, which I liked even though I dont usually like spiced ones, it was quite delicate.

My favourite at the moment is Yankee's Cranberry Ice

OldRoan · 16/11/2013 00:35

John Lewis Winter Spice (NOT winter berry, which smells like something is rotting inside candle)

OverAndAbove · 16/11/2013 06:15

The Diptyque Feu de Bois one is gorgeous - it just smells like the perfect log fire. Expensive, but you only need to burn it for a little while and the smell lasts for ages
