Really ? Amazon have just launched new versions which looks in stock . You can buy it elsewhere too.

lucysmam · 13/11/2013 18:30

It was just the bog standard version we've saved for, no hd or anything like that

lucysmam · 13/11/2013 18:32

I'm trying to decide between a Kindle fire, Huddle, and Nexus 7 for DD......Kindle fire reviews weren't that great.....

D0oinMeCleanin · 13/11/2013 18:32

My sister has had this problem. It seems Amazon have stopped selling the bog standard Kindle Fire.

Tesco Hudl seems quite good value for the price. Probably very similar to the Kindle Fire.

lucysmam · 13/11/2013 18:37

Is the Nexus the Google one? I'll look that and the Hudl up when the girls go to bed.

What is the budget?

derektheladyhamster · 13/11/2013 18:44

we've got the nook hd. 10 yr old is very happy with it. It has the full google play store unlike the kindle and you can download the kindle app Grin

lucysmam · 13/11/2013 19:26

sorry, I went & got a shower with the girls.

Budget is around £100 (as close as possible)

I will have a look at the nook as well shortly. Dd wanted a kindle & something to play on...the kindle Fire sort of killed two birds because it said 'Kindle' iyswim?

D0oinMeCleanin · 13/11/2013 19:29

You can download the Kindle App for free to all Android devices. My app works no different on my Samsung phone than dd1's Kindle Fire for reading and storing books.

wonderingsoul · 13/11/2013 19:30

lucy you can have a kindle app on any tablet, you can down load kindle books just as easy on say the hudle or samsung.

asda was doing the samsung tab 2 for £99.

lucysmam · 13/11/2013 20:00

In that case I really ought to put it on my phone Blush Save me carrying both with me!

I think we might go for the nook looking at it....will get dp to have a proper look though, he knows more about computery type stuff than me

OP posts:
penguinplease · 13/11/2013 22:38

That very kindle is 99 in argos.

soontobeslendergirl · 13/11/2013 22:41

Not in my Argos it isn't - i'm on now and it says £119.99 Confused

penguinplease · 13/11/2013 22:54

Oh damn, it was. I would sit tight, hold your nerve it will come down in price again for sure

lucysmam · 14/11/2013 07:20

I didn't check argos for it. You'd think I would have because dp bought my reading kindle from there!

TurnOffTheTv · 14/11/2013 07:28

Kindle fire is 99 on amazon and the HD is on for 119 this morning, both in stock.

lucysmam · 14/11/2013 07:44

yay! I haven't been back to look yet.

Although I am tempted by the nook now as it's cheaper and she could still put the kindle on there....decisions decisions Confused Grin

I have a nook HD+ and it's fab for the money. You get the full google store plus the kindle reader and you can also have the nook one and the kobo one if you really want. The screen is beautiful for watching movies. My DD steals it all the time and I'm tempted to get her the HD as well.

ChippyMinton · 15/11/2013 16:33

Have you got any Tesco clubcard vouchers to use towards a Hudl? The website has a discount offer, and there area some instore vouchers floating around too - £20 off when you spend £100 on electrical.

lucysmam · 15/11/2013 16:41

No, no clubcard, our closest Tesco shut down a couple of years ago & we don't often shop there now

OP posts:
wonderingsoul · 15/11/2013 16:48

i dont think you can put kindle on knook.. as the knook is its own book company.. like the kindle... i may be wrong though :/

RescueCack · 15/11/2013 16:51

My mum purchased a hudl today and ended up paying a total of £19 by doubling up her club card vouchers. They will only accept double up vouchers in electronics on the hudl. No other tablets. But what a bargain!!

RescueCack · 15/11/2013 16:52

Sorry, x-post. Ignore my entirely unhelpful suggestion then!!
