What would you like for Christmas that unfortunately is impossible...

When I was 3 years old at a party I was given a packet of Dolly Mix. I remember how delicious it was even from then. However, my mum explained afterwards that I can't have it again as it contains gelatine and I could only eat vegetarian sweets.

Every year since then I have always asked/searched for vegetarian dolly mix but I have never found any :(

Is there anything you'd like for Christmas but can't have it?

Like lots of people on this thread my wish would be for my Mum & Dad to be here. They both died whilst I was pregnant with their first, and only, grandchild Sad, he is nearly 12 and they would have absolutely adored him.
On a lighter, and still impossible, note I would love a new kitchen with a shiny, red Aga - not going to happen.

Slash.

I am getting an electric guitar instead to make up

ChippingInLovesAutumn · 10/11/2013 00:51

Snow on the ground & pretty lights.

nancy75 · 10/11/2013 00:53

I would like a Christmas with my nan, she died a few months before I got pregnant with dd, they would have loved each other so much. Dd is 8 and acts like such a funny old lady sometimes that I do wonder if part of my nan came back when dd was born.

myBOYSareBONKERS · 10/11/2013 08:07

My Dad. We knew last year would be his last and were warned he might not even make that, so I was so so grateful that he did make it in a "good state" still.

However..... I only want him back if he is completely fit and able to be moaned at by Mum who gets so stressed and hot cooking a magnificent lunch for us all Grin. Then for him to light the brandy and pour it over the Christmas Pud whilst we all sing "We wish you a Merry Christmas". And then for him to insist on doing the washing up (he ALWAYS had to do the washing up no matter who's house he was in!) before he fell asleep, doing his nodding dog impression in his chair.

An every year occurrence that become such happy memories Smile

I would like my mum and dear brilliantly clever grandfather back, even just for a day.

I frequently find myself thinking " what would they say or think?" of the things we have done. They were massively influential in some of the decisions I and then in turn dh have made together and I would dearly love to know what they would say.

superbagpuss · 10/11/2013 08:32

I would like all my brothers and sisters together in one room

never happened yet and too many family arguments over decades

Purplehonesty · 10/11/2013 08:42

I'd like all these wishes on here to come true. Every single one.
And for me, no more arthritis. Really I'm only 34 it's just not on!

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 10/11/2013 11:15

Aww some of these are so touching.

On a serious note, My dear Mother, she never knew she had two amazing granddaughters, she would have been so joyful.

My dear brother.

A younger well version of my father.

On a lighter note:

My in laws to *uck off and leave us in peace at xmas!!!!!

A FIRE, I miss miss miss a fire at christmas I was brought up with one.

To be able to go away and escape the in laws at christmas. perhaps to somewhere with a real fire

kelper · 10/11/2013 11:24

Oh heavens all these posts have made me cry sappy cow
My likes sound really trite now, but I'd like my missing kitten and my missing since February cat to come home, and I'd also like my house to be finished, as dh seems incapable of finishing a project before starting another not pissed off at all, oh no

lucysmam · 10/11/2013 11:33

I would like just enough money to move out of this awful house that has contributed to dd1 being ill Sad and for my mum to see my girls.

On a lighter note, a shopping spree for some new clothes that are not bitty and bobbly and holey would be good too Smile

TheWildOnes · 10/11/2013 11:48

I would like my Mum and Grandmother back. I had a really rough childhood but I have some lovely Christmas memorys, my Gran made sure it was always magical. I feel like the Christmasses I give my DC can never live up to them.

I would also like all the odd jobs in our house to be done but feels like it will hever happen.

SlicedLemon · 10/11/2013 11:53

New Uggs. Mine have literally fallen apart. I can only wear them now for pegging out the washing as I am too ashamed to wear them in publiuc.

Sadly the days of being able to save up for a new pair are long gone. I cant even afford a pair of boots in primark this year.Sad

TiredFeet · 10/11/2013 12:00

To be with my siblings and parents for christmas. Its too far to travel this year as I will have a newborn but its the first time I have not been there and I know I will miss them a lot

ihatethecold · 10/11/2013 12:37

awwwhhh kelper
that so sad.
I want you to get your kitten and cat back!

ConfusedDotty · 10/11/2013 12:41

I would love to have my Dad back and for my family not to be living all over the world. My Christmas will be tiny, but I will have my amazing DP who I love more than anything.

It's sad how much life changes

Oh and I would quite like a Lamborghini too.

Mintyy · 10/11/2013 12:42

A size 10 cashmere coat and a body that would fit inside it.

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 10/11/2013 12:48

A friend or two. Just someone I can spend the odd evening with putting the world to rights over a bottle or three I have no-one like that.

Also I would like to live closer to town, but without leaving the lovely rural countryside I live in now Hmm I miss pavements and being able to walk to work, but I do absolutely love living where I do.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 10/11/2013 12:56

i know I should be wishing for my DC to have met their grandparents, or a cure for all illnesses, but these things aside, I really, really want a bloody great big rescue greyhound.

even if I could convince the utterly canine-phobic DC, the cat would object, we don't have the room, and would need to get find walker for the days when DH are both at work.

Scarletohello · 10/11/2013 13:03

A partner to share Xmas with. :(

kittensarecute · 10/11/2013 13:04

I really want a pet snake (I love reptiles!) but I haven't got the space or money so very much doubt I'll get one any time soon.

lifesgreatquestions · 10/11/2013 13:06

A baby, a family. Or to have never wanted this to begin with and thus never have experienced the mcs and this depression.

Bumbolina · 10/11/2013 13:10

Sleep. I'll have a newborn and a frequently waking 2 year old by then Grin

milk · 10/11/2013 13:11

Thanks HyvaPaiva but they are halal approved as they contain beef instead of pork.
