Ours is ok in parts - Barney from Blue Peter, The Hoff and Su Pollard!

There must be worse than this around the country. I'm thinking ex-Gladiators etc...

I saw John Barrowman as Prince Charming in Wimbledon one year. He is hands down my top non-drag Panto performer of all time. The very definition of Showbiz - ie a total tart who will do absolutely anything to get the audience onside.

hippoherostandinghere · 04/11/2013 21:27

Lorraine Chase and resident comedienne May McFettridge here.

smellylittleorange · 04/11/2013 21:31

Local one is Daniella Westbrook of EastEnders fame and someone from Home and Away. But I have upgraded to Jo Brand and Matthew Kelly as I am taking my Mum and that's nearest to her. I am known as the quieter of my sister's but think they will be shocked when they see and hear how animated and shouty I get love panto ! Booked all the tix for everyone we take up nearly a whole row and Dd can not wait She has a special red coat with brass buttons just for the occasion.

jonicomelately · 04/11/2013 21:34

Ray Quinn.

jonicomelately · 04/11/2013 21:38

Or, if we go to another nearby theatre, Kim Woodburn and Lee Latchford-Evans. Apparently he used to be in Steps. All of a sudden Ray Quinn looks appealing!

NickNacks · 04/11/2013 21:46

Mr tumble is at Woking.

We've got Kevin Cruise from BGT. Hmm

Tortoise · 04/11/2013 21:55

Closest theatre, no one famous.
May go to Bristol instead to see Louie Spence!

98percentchocolate · 04/11/2013 22:17

Ooh Pumpkin we must be nearby! Was a bit Hmm about Brian Conley before but may buy tickets if he is as good as suggested above...
Biggins is great - saw him a couple of years ago.

details of the Soton show if anyone nearby wants them

Ledkr · 04/11/2013 22:19

Another one excited about Justin in Woking Wink

LadybirdSpots · 04/11/2013 22:46

The town I'm in don't do their panto until February time Hmm

But in the next town they have George Sampson from BGT. I didn't even know he could act?!

cazza2878 · 04/11/2013 22:53

There's 2 in our town - one starring Charlie Dimmock and the other Claire Sweeny!!

MARGUERITE18 · 04/11/2013 23:06

MCR is ashley and pudsey the dancing dog lol

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 05/11/2013 11:04

2anddone (I have two and I'm done too!), I'd pay you good money to know that you went on Christmas Eve, fully inebriated and heckled Darren Day until he cried. You must live nearish to me? Whereabouts are you?

DH has suggested going NYE (my birthday) as a treat for the children but he's suggesting going to Norwich instead which is considerably cheaper and you won't catch anything from being in the same theatre as Darren Dirty Day.

All my opinion, nothing to do with MN etc etc. I'm sure Darren Day is very lovely and if he isn't it's nothing a good dunk in bleach won't sort out.

StickyProblem · 05/11/2013 12:29

Surely I win the Z list?

Sheila Reid from ITV's Benidorm.
(whatever that may be. When was it even on, is it from the 90s?)

We were meant to have Linda Bellingham but it appears she got a better offer.

We had Paul Nicholas last year and he was FANTASTIC. He was Captain Hook, at one point he kind of flippped the bird with the hook as he walked off and I was crying with laughter!

I don't know who Sheila Reid is but I reckon older actors are more likely to be good, they (hopefully) have the stage experience (clutches at straws)

ShatnersBassoon · 05/11/2013 12:36

Sheila Reid's the one on the mobility scooter, Benidorm is a recent thing so she's definitely not the worst here.

I nominate Shane Richie Jr as the most hilarious and desperate attempt at a celeb star. That's just brilliant Grin.

Can choose from Jo Brand in one direction or Bonnie Langford. Fairly sure which one we'll head for!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 05/11/2013 12:41

Who's got Biggins? Very jealous Envy

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 05/11/2013 12:49

We've got Dr Karl from Neighbours Shock and someone from Xfactor that I don't know because I hate Xfactor

MonMome · 05/11/2013 13:26

I'm another one in the Linda Lusardi area - but, having done a bit of googling, have also found one nearby with such A-listers as CJ from Eggheads...

Lol ShowOfBloodyStumps I am very near where Darren Day is performing only 5 miles away! I will certainly be heckling I used to go to Norwich as a child but got freaked out by Lionel Blair!!! Might try the Christmas show in Hunstanton was lovely last year

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 05/11/2013 13:55

A friend of mine is working with Justin Fletcher in Woking. Am going to get all the gossip as soon as I can. Grin

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 05/11/2013 14:37

I was reading about the one at the Princess in Hunstanton last night. It's less panto, more show by the looks of it. Looks quite nice. I just can't bear the infernal audience participation crap. I want to sit quietly with my bag of sweets bigger than my head and ignore the festivities safe in the knowledge that somebody else is having to entertain the children for a couple of hours.

I am east of Darren Day's chosen festive location. About 12 miles along the A47 in the home of the Green Britain Eco Centre/Wind Turbine Offensive. I was in KL this morning however purchasing a heated linen airer from Gayton Rd Aldi. Rock and roll. Grin
