John Lewis Christmas Advert?

Does anyone know when it usually starts?

I heard its going to be Lily Allen singing Keane?

I've never forgiven them for slaughtering the Smiths song.

And the thought of Lily Allen/Keane combo on TV makes me want to vomit.

I can't bear the sound of lily allen.

I think they peaked with the little boy one the other year.

The previous years with a woman getting older was a bit naff, and last years with that snowman going xmas shopping was a bit weird.

So if its lily allen I will be sticking to bbc channels till January ;-)

the john lewis ads always make me cry,probably because im always pregnant at christmas though.

Was it JL with the dog and they changed the advert to a man with a teddy bear?

And the Waitrose one with the little boy waiting for his dad who was in a Chinook helicopter (they changed that one too)

I'm off to watch them now on You Tube.....

Yes, I had a watch and a wallow.
And I still love the Snowman one - especially his little face as he hides at the side of the motorway.

Oh that's mine and DH song, I well up when I hear it already...I'm going to be a snotty mess. I do love the John Lewis advert however saccharin they are..

Last year's was uploaded 9th November.

I follow the John Lewis snowman account on Twitter and he keeps tweeting "Is it time for me to come out of the freezer yet" so i reckon him and his missus are a regular fixture of these ads now

According to my friend who works for JL - there will be a teaser for the new Christmas ad on YouTube on Friday and then shown during the X Factor on Saturday....!

Their adverts get me every year, snowman one was my favourite though!

I have just BAWLED at this advert & I'm not even that bothered about Christmas!

Just saw the M&S advert and was surprised to see that the outdoor shots were taken within a few metres of where I work ... so won't be filling me full of the Christmas spirit!
I hope JL advert will be up to usual standard.

They played Lily Allen (the John lewis song) for a few minutes today on the radio, I have to say it sounded great, I havn't watched the add yet, will wait until it comes on the TV.

just seen it. loved the song but hate cutesy animal things... why not use people...

I thought the music didn't really go with the animation, was just weird. As if they'd used holding music until they chose the right track. Would've been so much better with different music! For me, they won't top the one with the little boy a couple of years ago - cried buckets at that!
