Glad price kids vans in the next sale

Willemdefoeismine · 22/10/2013 13:09

Theonlyoneiknow, I'm sure I've seen something to the effect that you can get replacements for lost ones so I would try with your expired ones...

Badvoc · 22/10/2013 13:09

Glad! Half obv

I've just been looking at the Beer52 site. I can't see where to log into my account, it just has a form to sign up. Also noticed, they do a taster box of 4 beers with olives exactly the same as the one I received, I can't see the price as I can't log in but I bet it's £14.

keggek · 22/10/2013 13:23

Hi all, long-time lurker, first-time poster here! I can't thank you all enough for the many, many bargains I've picked up from these threads.

One of which was the Joules wellies with the Country Living subscription. Yesterday I cancelled my direct debit and sent them a courtesy email to tell them so.
Today I've had an email response which states: "Our policy is for the subscription to run for a minimum of 12 months before a cancellation may be actioned. Although under the terms and conditions of the Direct Debit guarantee, you are able to cancel the instruction at any time with your bank.
If you decide to cancel your direct debit instruction before the minimum term then we do reserve the right to ask that you return the gift in the condition it is received to the following address..."

Has anyone else had this? I'm normally a stickler for checking Ts&Cs (I'm usually of the opinion that if it sounds too good to be true, it is!), so I don't know how I've missed this. Can anyone remember reading it? I think I'm going to ignore the email... I guess they won't know until they try to take the direct debit which will be January time.
So just a heads-up for anyone else who has signed up for subscriptions with free gifts!!

Marcheline · 22/10/2013 13:29

Another code request - looking for a jojo code that will work on micro scooters? DD1 is just desperate for one but can't quite justify full price at the moment...

I love these threads, but you all go too fast for me to keep up

CatAmongThePigeons · 22/10/2013 13:32

One time use i think, has to be used by 31st october.

Brucietheshark · 22/10/2013 13:42

keggek - another poster had that response from them. She checked the T&C, saved a screenshot etc. She emailed them and they just replied with standard emails that made no sense in response to what she had stated iirc.

So, if I were you, I'd ignore them and keep the wellies (assuming you've got them). But do keep a shot of the T&C which I don't think say anything at all about a minimum term, but do say you can cancel at any time with no mention of the free gift. I think they're trying to scare people into paying for 12 months which is naughty I think.

It seems that a lot of the free gifts have stopped coming and customers are starting to be told there is limited stock and it's first come first serve. I bet these magazine companies are feeling a bit stung and this one is trying this email thing with the customers who are polite enough to email them about cancelling. Not really on imo. I wouldn't worry.

clux73 · 22/10/2013 13:48

Any news on the 99p printers. Mine is still saying its been dispatched and should have been delivered between 19th and 21st October....

SupercoolMummy · 22/10/2013 13:49

keggek I e-mailed them after cancelling my dd. I got a reply basically saying they were sorry I was leaving but thanks for letting them know. They said I would get written confirmation of my cancellation and what my last issue would be, which I haven't had yet. I've not had a 2nd mag but don't know if it should have arrived by now.

No mention of staying for 12 months and no mention of returning wellies.

You think we would all get the same response.

notso · 22/10/2013 13:51

Marcheline ELK32 gives 10 off a £50 JoJo order.

notso · 22/10/2013 13:59

Has anyone managed to use a discount code for BodyShop on an IPad? I can't get the box to display.

JaquelineHyde · 22/10/2013 14:00

So today I went into the real world to shop and it was horrible, everything seemed far too expensive. I shall stick to this thread from now on!

Mum2toomany · 22/10/2013 14:00

Anyone have a valid baker ross code?

Plz

Marcheline · 22/10/2013 14:03

notso thank you Thanks!!!

I did try to search the thread before asking as someone has normally already posted, but my addled brain just wasn't seeing it :)

notso · 22/10/2013 14:07

No problem Marchline I seem to get 'thread blindness' when there's a particular poster or comment I'm trying to find!

Sleepstarved · 22/10/2013 14:15

Had two deliveries already today, might still get Boden today too.
Am waiting for Flavourly box, Telegraph seeds and blueberry plants (was late to those) and two Sport Pursuit orders.
I've ordered from Zulilly today too.
Am so grateful for this thread, have been educated in bargain hunting and some great new websites I never knew about - The Hut, Achica, Zulilly, Letterbox, ect ect.
Am totally addicted to this thread, DH getting really fed up!

MooseyMoo · 22/10/2013 14:17

notso there's a billing portal for beer52: www.billingportal.com/

They send you a link and you use link to check subscription.

kennythekangaroo · 22/10/2013 14:19

Janx dalmation onesie might be a bit girly.

siblingrevelry · 22/10/2013 14:21

I feel bad for companies where technical glitches mean they make a huge loss, but I don't have the same guilt with the mag subscriptions as they expect a large percentage will cancel (and rely on the disorganised ones not noticing and having direct debits that run and run).

The reason mags and newspapers do freebies in the main is to boost their readership figures so that they are inflated when pitching for advertising. So Country Living would have been able to state that their readership at a given time was 'x', thus making it more attractive to advertisers. They will have done a deal with Joules for end of line stock/old or damaged or no packaging etc, and will be prepared to take the hit in order to boost sales (and hopefully entice a few to stay in the process)

Oreocrumbs · 22/10/2013 14:29

MissJupiterJones Sorry for the late reply, I've been getting drunk and sobering up Blush.

This is what was in last years groupon deal for photobox:

£5.59 for one A4 calendar (70% off)

• £16.49 for three A4 calendars (70% off)

• £26.49 for five A4 calendars (71% off)

• £6.49 for one A3 calendar (68% off)

• £19.39 for three A3 calendars (68% off)

• £31.79 for five A3 calendars (68% off)

I ordered on 12/11 so the deal should be coming up soon. I can't remember if I had to pay postage on top but I don't think I did. So it might be worth hanging on.

Some one asked for a boots code XMAS13 gives £10 off a £50 spend.

WeleaseWodger · 22/10/2013 14:35

I've written to telegraph and they told me they will be distributing the blueberry plants end of this month (when they're ready for planting)
