Letterbox - I was actually in the middle of my order... thank you! ;)

kasbah72 · 18/10/2013 14:03

More fab stuff, thank you ladies!
A couple of questions...
The Next Santa duvet posted up thread is so cute but I need 2 and don't know if I can justify £30. Was there an offer somewhere for it? www.next.co.uk/g49624s6#860353g49

Secondly, has anyone seen any decorate-your-own Gingerbread Houses this year? For the first time, we are going to spend Xmas Eve at home with the kids and I would love to revive an old tradition and get them to make their own Christmas gingerbread house.

Thank you!

MooseyMoo · 18/10/2013 14:08

kasbah I bought the Lakeland Fairy Tale Cottage Mould. You can make either a gingerbread or a chocolate house.

EricNorthmansFangbanger · 18/10/2013 14:09

Amazon appear to have a good deal on the rainforest jumperoo, £51.33 instead of £114.

Jumperoo

Happiestinwellybobs · 18/10/2013 14:10

Mega bundle from Body Shop

£80 but with code PAMPER reduces to £48 (and apparently £160 worth of stuff)

Oreocrumbs · 18/10/2013 14:10

lilo - Is your bank Halifax? It happens to me a lot.

Common triggers seem to be spending large amounts of money Blush or repeat purchases with one retailer.

I did my Tesco shop, then went onto Tesco to buy a DVD, that stopped my card. I've been fortunate in that I mainly use my card online - so have found it declined online and can ring my bank and get it unlocked rather than having it turned down in a shop.

My brother wasn't though and in the end moved his current account to a different bank because he was sick of the hassle.

I suppose you could argue that these triggers are there to stop your card before too much damage is done if it had been stolen. However it is a pain in the arse when you are trying to spend your own money.

On the plus side I only avoided paying in full for my holiday this year because they flagged that transaction. For which I am very grateful. I would have been a few thousand down while I tried to claim it back and I couldn't afford to be in that situation.

Oreocrumbs · 18/10/2013 14:13

Kasbah Ikea sell a make your own gingerbread house for £2.45. It is the biscuits pre made in the shapes but you then build and decorate it yourself.

I've already bought mine!

lilolilmanchester · 18/10/2013 14:13

not Halifax, but another provider mentioned several times already, Thankful to them for protecting my interests, but equally think they could find a better way of doing it

jennimoo · 18/10/2013 14:14

I'm loving this thread, quite a few purchases already.

I've asked for the Lakeland cottage mould for my birthday in a few weeks. It says it comes with instructions to do either chocolate or gingerbread so although not cheap (£12.99) it's multi-purpose and you could use it every year ;)

For anyone interested in a Sofia The 1st Magic castle, Woolworths have it for £52. this is the cheapest I have seen it.

my £20 iPod dock/Clock arrived from Amazon yesterday. the box was pretty bashed so I am not sure if that is why it was reduced so much. actual item looks good though.

angelabbie · 18/10/2013 14:25

my hubby thinks I am a genius for finding all of the bargains, my mum thinks it fab too. I may just have to admit I have lots of lovely people finding them for me :)

kasbah72 · 18/10/2013 14:26

MooseyMoo · 18/10/2013 14:34

Has had rave reviews in GQ but I haven't smelt it yet. Am thinking of getting for DH

TheOneWithTheHair · 18/10/2013 14:35

The Hut did a deal on Bench T-shirts which came with free boxers. I don't know if it's still on.

Ds1(17) loves novelty socks for some reason. Especially Mr Men ones.

I'll have a think about what else I normally get him.

clux73 · 18/10/2013 14:36

I received a printer despatch email and it said it would be delivered on Monday 21st. Just checked and it has been updated - says it will be delivered between today and 21st. Can't believe that it will actually arrive but it does seem to still be an active order!

Rubybrazilianwax · 18/10/2013 14:36

Just back from real life shopping. If anyone has girl aged 6-11 ish to buy for they had the most loveliest little oilily watches in a pretty tin for £7.99.
Also mini lala loopsy remote control boat & doll for £12.99.
If anyone is doing little bits and pieces for someone or a childs xmas hamper, home bargains had christmas gift boxes 2 for 99p. Sort of like the shape of a happy meal box only larger, thicker card and red and white reindeer patterned

siblingrevelry · 18/10/2013 14:45

Really not much left on the Letterbox website now, is there? Rather suggests "everything must go" (before they shut the site down).
