Still stuck with what to get dd2 (7 but has autism so likes younger toys too), so far I have come up with either a puppet theatre or a CD player . she loves music but I don't think she could use a MP3 player, she also loves most toys ( still likes peppa pig but has also asked for moxie girlz as she likes the ones in argos with drums and guitars), also thinking of a musical instrument but she already has a few, was thinking maybe a big xylophone?

What are your dc's getting?

My 7 yr old DD has asked for the Sylvanian Family car & caravan set. She loves playing with little figures and making up wee stories and acting them out. Playmobil is also a huge favourite of hers, for the same reasons.

lucysmam · 08/10/2013 19:22

Mine will be almost seven. She and her sister love their dollies so we're going to buy a new pram each, possibly a dolly too. Dp's mum is off to wilko for some of their dolly bits (nappies/magic bottle type stuff) to go with.

They're getting a bean bag each too, different colours, as we have one but they scrap over it if we get it out & dp wants to claim it for playing on his xbox Smile

She has a few bits of sylvanians, loves her house but uses it for her other toys Smile, she did ask for the sylvanian café a while back and i'm tempted by the playmobil swimming pool. TBH she would be happy with almost anything, she loves most toys but has never shown interest in dolls and prams Sad. She loves moshi monsters but i'm fed up with buying them.

Littlest Pets Everything! Nice Winter boots and coat. Little iPod.......its a funny little age in between being 'little' and growing up.
Are we running out of Christmasses as 'believers'? x

fuzzpig · 08/10/2013 20:40

My DD will be 6.6, she will be getting:

playmobil (pyramid and possibly swimming pool)

Lego

Framed poster of her favourite painting

Character figures

Hama beads

General craft supplies

Board/card games

Sticker/colouring books relating to art and Egypt

youbethemummylion · 08/10/2013 20:43

DS1 who is 6 will be getting a Samsung Tab 2. Though I got it free with phone contract so not as extravagant as it sounds.

Lexiesinclair · 08/10/2013 20:49

Playmobil for my DD too. We love the stuff here. :)

TigOldBitties · 08/10/2013 20:53

DD is soon to be 7.

Her christmas so far is (seems a lot but we have a large family who all want to buy her presents, so I buy most of it and they give me the money to stop duplicates and that way they don't have to shop for my 5 kids):

Ipod Nano
Matilda Tickets
One Direction Tickets
One Direction Cushion
Monster High Headphones
Monster High DS Game
Monster High Dolls x 2
Monster High 'Vanity Case'
Onesie
Faux Fur Jacket
Hello Kitty Backpack Bag
Hello Kitty Pencil Case and Stationery Set
Pyjamas
Slippers
New Boots
Mock 'Spirit Hood'
Despicable Me Operation Game
Monster High Scooter
Furreal Kitty
Couple of Dresses
Quite a few books
Baking Set
Nail Art Set
DVDs
Various Lego sets (her and DS 4 aged 10 are obsessed)

I don't know much about your DD but I think she would be able to cope with an ipod nan or shuffle. They're very easy to use, my nan has one!

Design a friend, lego friends and monster high

2cats2many · 08/10/2013 20:58

A bike

bsc · 08/10/2013 21:12

Tig- how do you control the volume they have it at? I know my 7yo would adore one, but I'm worried she would keep turning it up too high (I am deaf prematurely, mainly from listening to v loud music from a young age, she has sensory issues, AS, cannot accept no a lot of the time, and I don't want to spend the entire time confiscating it from her!)

TigOldBitties · 08/10/2013 21:16

bsc, its not something I have had to do yet but I googled and found this instantly so it seems to be a standard feature.

Also I'm buying her the monster high headphones, which I believe won't go too loudly, and because the ones that go in ears are a bit big for their age.

TigOldBitties · 08/10/2013 21:17

bsc www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Monster-High-Kid-Safe-Headphones/200528011?sku=200528011 they have a built in noise limiter. Am sure you can get lots like this, just DD LOVES monster high.

Where do you all buy your lego from?

bsc · 08/10/2013 21:36

Ah tig- that's great, thank you! Not heard of monster high, but she loves moshis!

I usually get lego from JL or argos- always when they have special offers on, JL usually have a 2 week period in October when playmo and lego are reduced, and I buy them all then.

Beamur · 08/10/2013 21:37

DD has asked for a baby annabell and asecret safe diary.
I'll also get her some sylvanian toot. If PIL ask I might suggest they get her a bike.
Her favourite present year on year thogh has been chocolate coins!

TodaysAGoodDay · 08/10/2013 21:39

My DS is 7 and wants a snooker table, not a full sized one just a kids one, about 3 foot long.

JemimaMuddledUp · 08/10/2013 21:39

DD is 7, so far I have bought her:

Lego Friends set (I know, but she really wants it)
Clarice Bean book

I have also pre-ordered the Lego Friends DS game.

Other than that, no idea.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 08/10/2013 21:39

no idea really, watching for tips
I might get her some build a bear vouchers as we've not been before
she really needs a new bike due to a monster growth spurt, but I'm pretty certain she won't ask for one, so not really sure what Santa would do in such circumstances Confused

miaowmix · 08/10/2013 21:46

DD will be 7 in November so having an Isla bike as joint main Christmas/birthday present. Otherwise it will be mainly books, plus the usual tat like Moshi onesie from M&S, and ear muffs from Zara, plus assorted One Direction nonsense Smile. She wants a stupid robot dog thing - NO WAY is she getting it (£50 worth of utter tat)! I think (hope) grandparents will get her Matilda or Charlie and the Choc factory tickets too. It is tricky having a birthday within a month of Christmas.

TigOldBitties · 08/10/2013 21:57

You're welcome bsc, although I did notice a bad review of those Moshi ones on John Lewis, but everywhere else seems to say they're ok. You can get them cheaper in other places (inc argos) and in different colours.

Monster High are these monstrous dolls which DD loves, and thinks are vair grown up. I only put up with it because she has a whole imaginary world for them and their goings ons with illustrations and everything but also it gives me a break from the lego wars of her and DS4.

I mainly buy lego from Amazon but sometimes I wonder if I'm getting a poor deal, they do have sets I never see anywhere else but will check out argos prices. Thanks.

Sparklysilversequins · 08/10/2013 21:58

A scooter. Dd has grown out of her micro so now she's getting a Maxi.
