Special festive title for spottyteacakes Grin . Here we go people, the THIRD bargain Christmas thread for 2013 already . Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

I've just been phoned as well re the robot (but I wasn't in, my DM answered). Saying there was an error on the webpage and as a gesture of goodwill they will offer me the robot for £35. They've already taken my money though for £13.19 Hmm. They are going to ring me back later today.

Allofthis · 22/08/2013 13:17

Their CS is shocking if they hadn't realised it's already been sent out, surely their system would show it had been sent already?

starjules · 22/08/2013 13:18

Anyone know where we legally stand on this? I don't think I am the only one who has received it. I thought the money leaving the account along with the email confirmation was a contract?

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 13:30

They have to honour the order if they have sent you order confirmation or delivered the goods. I've only received order acknowledgement. As they don't have my number I'm pretty sure they will just give me the money back. I'm really annoyed and certainly won't be buying from them again. The money was taken out on Sunday, it's Thursday and I still haven't heard anything from them. That's awful CS.

snappybadger · 22/08/2013 13:31

starjules the legal position regarding the robots is this: the online shop is not obliged to deliver the items even if they have taken your money. So those who have not received the robot yet will likely have their order cancelled and money refunded.

For those whose robot has been despatched/received then the item has been contractually sold at the original price and you are not obliged to return the item or pay any difference in price (unless you wanted to!).

98percentchocolate · 22/08/2013 13:36

They definitely told me they'd be honoured. If they've changed their minds then I will be flipping furious!!!

iloveholidays · 22/08/2013 13:40

I had a call earlier from a private number but ignored it... no doubt it was hope education then!!!! gutted Sad

iloveholidays · 22/08/2013 13:43

Moosey, out of interest what are you planning to say? they might call back later and assume I don't have a leg to stand on Sad gutted though as the robot looks fab

Allofthis · 22/08/2013 13:44

2.6 These Terms shall become binding on you and us when: 2.6.1 we issue you with written acceptance of an Order (?Order Confirmation?); or2.6.2 we deliver the Goods to you, whichever is the earlier, at which point a contract shall come into existence between us (a ?Contract?). from their website.

Whoever has recieved their Robot has had their contract fulfilled by Hope Education

iloveholidays · 22/08/2013 13:51

I am guessing with my accountants head on that they generally would honour mistakes but maybe they've equated the numbers and someone from above has put their foot down. I would guess they're making them at a loss at that price.

iloveholidays · 22/08/2013 13:57

just been having a look online and tesco sell them for £32 although are currently unavailable. everywhere else seem to be £38 to £40.

personally I think their goodwill gesture is rubbish!!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 14:02

Hmmm I would maybe say to them I would buy it for £30 (inc VAT and delivery) BUT they don't have my phone number so not sure what they are going to do...

MooseyMoo · 22/08/2013 14:05

ilove I was going to say that as they had sent an order confirmation, and taken money from my account and had a despatch date that assumed everything had been ok. And that a friend of mine had contacted them earlier in the week and said orders were going to be honoured.

Am guessing though that phone call will end with me asking for refund.

MooseyMoo · 22/08/2013 14:07

I have a feeling Argos did a deal on them at some point as their reviews mention it online. I would pay £20 for the robot

98percentchocolate · 22/08/2013 14:09

They've got my number but haven't heard from them. If they offer me that pitiful "goodwill gesture" then I'll happily say no and tell everyone just what they are like!

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 14:11

Moosey did they send you an order acknowledgement or confirmation? I only got an acknowledgement.

BuffyFairy · 22/08/2013 14:11

Moosey that goodwill gesture is rubbish. I complained about not being able to make an order and they offered it to me at £25 excl of vat which they said is their cost price. I didn't take them up it, hedging my bets on at least 25% off vtech stuff at some point somewhere somewhere I can get cashback.

MooseyMoo · 22/08/2013 14:22

spotty sorry, it was an order acknowledgement email. I'll update when they ring back

VoldemortsNipple · 22/08/2013 14:55

30ml katy Perry perfume £7·50 on Amazon with free delivery if you have Prime. Ideal stocking filler for teenagers

janx · 22/08/2013 15:03

Hi
I'm sure I read on this thread about a message monster? Can someone link to that please

iloveholidays · 22/08/2013 15:08

seems like they're offering different things to different people. If retail price is £40 then they're offering 25% off. personally I'm not surprised they're not honouring it but you'd think they'd actually put a goodwill gesture that is a gesture rather than just price matching. I'd rather use my clubcard vouchers to double up nearer Christmas. think I'll hedge my bets. think I'll camel camel it!!!

MrsSheepiness · 22/08/2013 15:09

Hello all, just to say I ordered the robot after seeing it on this thread, they called me this afternoon to explain there had been a problem with the price and offer the same goodwill gesture as Moosey I stood my ground and quoted a few buzz words about consumer laws etc and they honoured the original price! Yippee! Thanks everyone for this thread, I have never been so organised or overspent in August

ItsSoFluffyImGonnaDie · 22/08/2013 15:09

I also got a call about the robot and got offered it for £35. I knew a box had been delivered to my parents house but at the time of the call I didn't know whether it was definitely the robot or not. I said the money had been taken already and the lady said she'd send a refund.

Turns out the box is the robot Confused they don't seem to know what's going on?

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 15:22

Shock You lucky people. I will be annoyed if they refund mine without contacting me I'm tempted to phone them...

runningincircles · 22/08/2013 15:23

What did you say Mrssheepiness? I haven't had a phone call yet, but expect they will phone soon. Help me out please, I'm rubbish at negotiating.
