Special festive title for spottyteacakes Grin . Here we go people, the THIRD bargain Christmas thread for 2013 already . Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

Ewan the dream sheep is down to £20 on amazon. cheapest it's been for a while as I've had it on camelcamel. just ordered for the impending arrival of my nephew and means I can return the verbadet order without having to think of something else!!!!! Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 05:49

Nigella's jumbleberry jam is delicious and so easy to make plus you can use any fruit you have Smile

Chocolateteabag · 22/08/2013 06:32

IJustNeedaNap - you need jars which will take at least a litre of liquid so jam jars will be a bit too small. If you can't find any cheap ones, then you can use old bottles (or the bottles that the vodka/gin come in) - just makes it a bit more fiddly to get the fruit and sugar in/out.

You need to wash the jar and rinse the fruit. Lots of recipes on line but as said up thread, you can just go by eye and add a third of a jar of fruit and about 8oz of sugar. You can then taste it later on (after a month at least) and add more sugar if needed. You can even add sugar after you've strained it off (tea towel tied loosely round a jug and get a second pair of hands to help!)
You'll find some recipes ask for sugar syrup - basically melt the sugar in water first, don't need to buy this (but you can). It makes a thicker end product as you can get more sugar into the bottle by melting it into a syrup first - so good if you prefer a sweeter one.
And yes - cheap gin/vodka will do - as you are adding so much sugar/fruit that as long as it isn't total paint stripper it would be hard to tell. We have used Aldi gin and cheapest Tesco vodka before and both were lovely.
Very jealous of your blackberries!

ThePigOfHappiness · 22/08/2013 07:11

My local Claire's has got a sale on atm, buy any 3 sale items for €5. There might be a similar offer in uk? I got both dds new beach bags (peppa pig and hello kitty) and a new purse for myself. Hello kitty bag priced at €24 originally so great bargain

IJustNeedANap · 22/08/2013 07:16

BirdingWidow · 22/08/2013 07:35

98percentchocolate · 22/08/2013 07:46

If anyone wanted to get a new Xmas album this year then best to get it soon - some cheap ones on Amazon at the moment. They always bump up the price from about October so best to get ASAP.

This thread is bankrupting me GrinGrin

imip · 22/08/2013 08:20

I followed this thread last year and got a few bargains. Have been lurking this year also and have my first contribution. Galt art kits are on sale at sainsburys. I've hoarded a few as birthday presents but may hold some in reserve as stocking fillers. I have 4dds and there seems to be a birthday party every other week!

MooseyMoo · 22/08/2013 08:26

joymaker I got the toot toot everyday vehicles for £4.97 last year (17th Oct to be exact). They kept dropping the price every so often but not for long so you had to be quick.

MooseyMoo · 22/08/2013 08:27

^^from Amazon

WithConfidence · 22/08/2013 08:28

Birding Playdoh keeps for ages. Ds has had some for over a year, which we have played with loads and it is fine. A few have got slightly dry so have kneaded in a few drops of water (discovered this after he took a lump in the bath!). Like felt tips, I remind him to put the tops back on to get into good habits.

Oreocrumbs · 22/08/2013 08:33

Laugh and learn tea set £10.99 this was talked about yesterday morning and has been dropped to it's best price! Good for 9mth + I would say, goes well with the cookie jar I linked yesterday.

Joymaker, yes will report back asap!

johnworf · 22/08/2013 08:33

Home Bargains usually have some great stuff, especially toys. Best to look instore as they have more but if you're not local to one the website has new products each week.

Oreocrumbs · 22/08/2013 08:38

Clint Eastwood 35 film box set £35.71, it's best price.

I bought this for DP (for considerably more money) a couple of years ago and its great value.

Oreocrumbs · 22/08/2013 08:53

Ben and holly elf tree play set Was £34.99 now £12.99 Argos.

Snowgirl1 · 22/08/2013 08:54

John Rocha 14cm trinket box reduced from £22 to £8.80 and matching photo frame reduced from £17 to £6.80 + 5% cashback with quidco

chimchar · 22/08/2013 09:05

Thanks voldemort for the link...missed it first time around.

managed to baggsie one for dd and one for dn. Smile

dandelionsRflowers · 22/08/2013 09:09

I'm looking for a cheap jewellery box for my dd, who'll be almost 5 at Christmas for her plastic tat precious bits and bobs. Anything I've seen is a bit pricey and she's a bit heavy handed. I like the one's that have a little ballerina or something that turns when the music is played, doesn't have to be like that though. Anyone seen any during their bargain hunting?

BuffyFairy · 22/08/2013 09:23

Birding I've found play doh keeps really well even if left out for a while. The ELC soft stuff drys out very quickly so you have to be militant about putting the tops back on.

busyprocrastinating · 22/08/2013 09:24

I have been following this thread forever and have finally got something to add. Fisher price jumperoo on Amazon for £53.99.
