VBisme · 19/12/2012 22:31

Why are you wrapping his presents?

My mum wouldn't be impressed by the duvet gift unless she'd been moaning about being cold in bed? clutching at straws

VBisme · 19/12/2012 22:32

But it does sound like exactly the kind of gift my dad would buy Grin which is why mum buys her own...

HappyTurquoise · 19/12/2012 22:32

Is that you, DD? Xmas Hmm

FlojoHoHoHo · 19/12/2012 22:33

Oh I quite like the duet gift, so long as I got a little treat gift too.
I'm more concerned about why you are doing his wrapping? Is he physically incapable in some way?

Izzyschangelingisarriving · 19/12/2012 22:34

LMAO Id kill him

Clickityclack · 19/12/2012 22:34

I've brought my parents a new duvet for Christmas with new pillows and lots of new bedding.... They really need them though

SrirachaGirl · 19/12/2012 22:35

I think that sounds like the perfect gift but then I love, love LOVE my bed and am very particular about the blankets that go on it. I don't get the hot/cold bit though...is it electric?

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 19/12/2012 22:35

Wrt the wrapping - he hates it, I enjoy it. He takes.my car to get fixed. Tit for tat really.

I didnt think Id see a gift this bad again after the great Mop nd Bucket fiasco of 1998.

Or the year she asked for a coat and he bought her four.

The hot/cold thing is (I think from the photo on the packet) a kingduvet where one half is winter tog and the other half is summer tog (dm gets too hot in bed).

Tbf, I would love a relaly posh duvet, from my mum, I love my bed and cotton sheets, but not from DH.

worsestershiresauce · 19/12/2012 22:48

I'd love one of those duvets. If DH bought me one for xmas I'd be thrilled. I boil at night, whilst he shivers, and there is no compromise bedding that works.

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 19/12/2012 22:50

Whilst it may be a well thought out purchase - for christmas? As a gift to your wife?

pictish · 19/12/2012 22:51

How about two singles? Might not look all ticketyboo when the bed is made, but it is a solution.

Slainte · 19/12/2012 22:52

Can't believe this type of duvet exists! It's exactly what we need.

I've just scoured the M&S website but can't find it - does anyone have a link?

Sorry for the hijack OP.

Yama · 19/12/2012 22:53

Hold on, if they share a bed won't he get the benefit too? So, it's a present to himself. No, no and thrice no.

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 19/12/2012 22:53

Arg ive just wrapped it otherwise id take a photo.

Dm would go mental at two singles - husband and wife are meant to share the whole bed dont you know. She does cats bum.mouth at any couple who ever dont share a bed for whatever reason.

My mum had a big bday this year. I asked my dad what he'd bought her: a shed. She's always wanted a shed, he goes.

On questioning my mother, she was most disappointed. She'd been expecting a diamond.

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 19/12/2012 22:54

Exaclty Yama. itd be like dh buying me a kettle. Or a showerhead.

Hmmmm, it's what I'm giving DH for christmas. Along with some clothes he needs, and some posh coffee and tea.

We are not hard up - he is just ungrateful, so I might as well get him things I want.

SPsFanjoIsSantasLittleHoHoHo · 19/12/2012 22:55

My mum received a shower head as a gift from my stepdad. It was their first Christmas as husband and wife.

She said if he had got it before they married then she would have never married himXmas Grin

It wasn't a joke gift either. She mentioned the shower head needed replacing once. In summer time.

Yama · 19/12/2012 22:55

'She's always wanted a shed.' Grin

SPsFanjoIsSantasLittleHoHoHo · 19/12/2012 22:55
