Why does BIL say this to DP when he knows we don't have children?

The other question is: why did they not discuss this more than a week before Christmas?

But that's their problem, not mine.

It is quite pink, but anything hello kitty and you can't go wrong.

OOOh I also had this for my 3yr old DN - I got her some Disney princess play-doh, about £20-£25 from amazon. No idea how well it'll go down though....!!

A nice little bag filled with a colouring book and felt tip pens and some other little bits and pieces.

My 3 year old likes duplo, play doh, craft sets, dress up outfits or anything peppa pig or toy story.

Sticker books, picture books, pop up books.

Duplo is great as is brio train track.

Jigsaws? Go for something with around 20 pieces.

Box set of toy story or ice age DVDs or classic disney films.

IME it's all character stuff at 3, they're obsessed with it.

I'd also recommend something musical and noisy. You can't go wrong!

Disney, Peppa Pig, Lego, paints, Pixar DVDs, dolls, Nerf guns (that might just be my dd though)

Also animals, my dd has a farm with all the animals and tractors etc.

Another vote for play doh or elc soft stuff. My little pony is also popular with my three year old girl, although her twin brother prefers Thomas the tank engine.

When you say "peppa pig" what do you mean? DVD, book, toy of peppa pig, peppa pig hoodie, peppa pig colouring book, all of the above?

Ooh there's a great Peppa Pig snakes and ladders set in Argos, DS has it. It's huge and on a big wipe-clean board.

Ticks peppa pig box AND noisy box - when you make up the jigsaw it has a track for the car which zooms around playing the PP theme tune and giggling loudly

But YY with character stuff anything will go down well, DVDs, books, figurines, plush character toy, playset (you can usually find by searching "peppa pig" "toy story" etc in argos or amazon), jigsaw puzzle, colouring/sticker book, hoodie, t-shirt, dress up costume. Anything you can find.

Also our train track was my 3yos most played-with toy. And it doesn't matter if she already has one - if you get the wooden tracks, almost all the different brands fit together (we ended up with a monstrous track make out of 5 different sets, brilliant!)

Brio is the expensive stuff, but supermarkets' own brand is just as playable. IKEA is great value - but it the only one which doesn't quite fit the other sets easily. Well it will, but you have to bash it in a bit! Just like their kitchens in fact )

I've bought my dd the snakes and ladders for Christmas. Tbf I'm struggling a bit now she's 3 she's on the verge of growing out of it so finding toys she'd play with was hard.

Asda always have Peppa clothes, matalan had some lovely Minnie mouse stuff too.

craft stuff - glue, scissors, glue, paper, more glue, stickers, more glue, sparkly bits, more glue. and some kitchen roll and spray cleaner for her parents to clean the table when she's finished.

Is the child just three ir nearly four? It can be a big difference at that age.

My just turned three year old daughter is getting Thomas duvet set, Thomas blanket, Thomas cushion, thomas cutlery, etc, plus felt tips, paper, a cuddly dog, selection box, play dough, lego, books (anything bodily functions based is apparently hilarious, but also things like the gruffalo, we're going on a bear hunt, dear zoo, hungry caterpillar). She plays a lot with toy food, a wooden car, puppets, stickers, hats, a toy tent, teddies. She also needs pyjamas, socks, hair slides, jumpers, hats and scarves.

You can't really go wrong with craft stuff - is used up so you won't be duplicating a toy they might already have
