What do you have for breakfast on Christmas morning

Cant decide between

bacon, eggs, sausages, leftover ham if we have that christmas eve, black pudding, grilled cherry plum tomatoes

Or scrambled egg and smoked salmon

Or omelettes.

Have heard of people having duck and quail eggs. Do you have them fried, poached or scrambled?

growing up we always had ham, nicely prepared by my dad, everything laid out buffet style. I tend to make a fruit salad with exotic fruit and pancakes. Not sure it is really that Christmassy. We eat lunch quite late.

Blt's and bucksfizz. The proper champagne and fresh orange stuff not the 4.0% stuff from tesco.

Not that much to be honest, there's usually far too much excitement from the kids, I might warm up some pain au chocolat but they rarely get eaten. We usually have smoked salmon sandwiches around midday and Christmas lunch at 5pm.

I always buy frozen pastries so we have them freshly baked with strawberries and raspberries.

We always had our usual cereal as a child. Rule was breakfast before any chocolate and everyone must be breakfasted, washed and dressed before opening the tree presents stockings were ripped into first thing

I asked DH if he wanted to do anything special (first Christmas at ours) but he just pulled a face so I think not! We have to eat lunch early anyway because DS gets up at 6am because MIL has a train to catch in the afternoon.

If I could have my choice I'd do pancakes or buy frozen pain au chocolat/raisin etc. and have them.

Croissants, champagne, orange juice, tea and massive fruit salad made the day before with apple, banana, orange, grapes, melon pineapple and strawberries. Oh and kiwi. It's lovely and refreshing and a good hangover cure!

Porridge. Tea.

Cannot get my head round making and then consuming rich fancy stuff, or booze, when from 11.30am onwards the rest of the day is pretty much dedicated to doing just that.

I'm salivating reading this and then grouaning in disgust.
As Christmas we have DS in the house who is allergic to eggs, nuts, fish sesame and chocolate.! and DF who is coeliac.
Lunch will be about 1-1.30 so I now defy you all to find me a special breakfast that I can make to cover all eventualities!

(I might try the nigella muffins with egg replacer though).

No idea. I don't remember having breakfast on Christmas Day ever. And I don't remember dd1 having breakfast either! Definitely lots of tea, probably toast but I don't actually remember Xmas Blush

Grin

The same as I have every single morning. One slice of toast and a vast mug of tea.

After that though it all goes downhill and it's chocolates/lemon and orange jelly slices/chocolates/nuts/chocolates etc etc.

Always toasted brioche and fruit salad. It is traditional in the Midlands ( so I understand from a friend who always had this as a child) to have pork pie for Christmas breakfast.

We have had pancakes/waffles, bacon and maple syrup the past couple of years but reading this now makes me think I might swap for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs this year. (Not sure what the dc will make of this idea though!)
