Half price large lego boxes at Argos

£12.48 instead of £24.99 - free base plate with the pink one too apparently (tho haven't collected mine yet so that might be a website fantasy)

I saw this on hukd and have reserved one.

There was also a lego friends set reduced to £2.49 (which I collected today, great stocking filler!)

No 3 for 2 currently at Argos but tesco are doing another one this weekend on toys.

does anyone know if the free base plate is the one that's in the lid of the box? Or have i not been given it?

it should be the £8.99 one, and come separately. or at least that's what they gave me...

I thought so - haven't been given it. I queried but guy told me its the one you can see in top of box.

There is one in pack but its shown in the contents list on the back so doesn't seem additional and also I would't describe the one in box as large. Think it is supposed to be a separate item.

it doesnt say the base plate is large, just that it is free. I would have thought the base plate in the pack is the free item (the £8.99 base plate is an online exclusive and shouldnt be held instore anyway)

Im confused! The one in box just seems to be standard part of set not an extra (looked on amazon and that has a base plate included in box yet Argos say exclusive to them). I also saw a woman buying a blue box and getting given a separate green base plate too which at time I thought she'd bought extra but now think this must be the free one I should have got.
Anyone else bought one ??

I bought 2 today but they are out of the free base plates - it says on the actual receipt that 2 base plates are still 'due' to me. I can show receipt in store within next two months to receive them. We were told we can show the receipt in any other Argos to pick them up.

Yes there is a free base plate inside the sealed box but its tiny. You get a big square plate free too which I think is worth £6.99. Got mine earlier today.

Nothing mentioned on my receipt :-(

Yes they tried to tell me the base plate was in the box but I insisted they check and they looked on the computer and it showed a separate item so they fetched me one. Item no is 909/5889.

I'm feeling very annoyed at Argos either just not giving them out or talking bollocks claiming its in the box.

Though I've just checked the Argos site and it doesn't say on the blue one, just on the pink. But I bought blue and will be getting the free base plates. Hmmm. Now I dunno.
