What do you have left to get?

Just thought I'd better make a list, MN seems like the perfect place to write it all down Grin
I still need;
Jumper & Box Set & tshirt for DH,
Tshirt for DM,
Tights and chocolate Santa/coins/chocolate orange for DD's stocking,
3 bottles of wine (which I'm leaving until the last possible minute as I know I'll drink them otherwise Blush)

What presents have you got left to buy?

Pretty much everything Blush
Sorted DS1 out, DS2 is only 8 weeks now but I want to make sure he's got as much as DS1 (even though he won't have a clue)
Not got anything for DH or parents yet

Onlyhappywhenitsnows · 19/11/2012 09:53

I'm done except a couple of small gifts for friends and dh! Argh! I have run out of money so either need to wait until next month and hope stuff still comes in time fore Christmas or just stick it on the credit card and pay it next month. Dangerous though...
Other option is take money out of savings and then replace next month. Have no idea what to get dh, have done well with other gifts though I think. The reason he has been left until last is simply because I don't know what to buy. He has everything he needs and if he wants something he just goes and buys it. Got millions of photos of ds in his office, got an iPad, got an iPhone, got tons of clothes and aftershave, doesn't want an experience day, got a very expensive nice watch, what's left?!

NoSoggyBottoms · 19/11/2012 09:54

Got more or less everything to do. Having to wait until payday at the end of this month.

Not stressing about....seriously....I'm not

Hmm
OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 19/11/2012 09:57

I have EVERYTHING left to get. Money is tight. I'm on mat leave but not eligible for mat pay.

Got a 4 week old, and 2 yr old just had her birthday. 3 more birthdays before Christmas.

NoSoggyBottoms · 19/11/2012 10:01

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn - I feel your worry, although I haven't got children as young as yours.

Christmas is great for piling on the stress and worry.

Have around 30 immediate relatives, but we've decided not to buy for a lot of them this year. Have 2 birthdays before Christmas, and 2 in the week following Christmas including mine! Not to mention the Christmas food shopping!...urgh...

PrattingAroundTheChristmasTree · 19/11/2012 10:03

An xbox. And whatever I have the urge to buy from Amazons Black Friday deals :) I've got everything else or need to make stuff.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 19/11/2012 10:07

Hard isn't it, Soggy?

I've decided that the 2 year old is getting the 8 year old's old dressing up box wrapped up for Christmas. Baby will get one small toy.

That's as far as I've got.

NoSoggyBottoms · 19/11/2012 10:15

Hard and sometimes feels that its impossible. Been in this postition before though...keep telling myself, I've pulled it off before, I'll do it again!

DP and I said that we'll buy presents for children and parents from the family (thats 12 excluding me and DP...if I'm right). Nieces are getting some jewellery I picked up dirt cheap a while ago (19p each for a necklace and bracelet Grin).

Ooh, forgot about the baby in our family! A nephew, not one of our own lol Not sure what to get. But I figure they are a baby and won't understand or remember their first Christmas!

OhTheConfusion · 19/11/2012 10:28

Soggy and One, perhaps worth checking out the bargin cristmas threads.

Sainsburys have fisher price toys from £1.50 instore but still full price online. Perhaps good for the baby's? Also babys need a token gift from santa and perhaps something they need like pj's, clothes etc.

NoSoggyBottoms · 19/11/2012 10:31

Thanks OhTheConfusion...was going to go to Sainsburys later so will have a look Smile

Plumsieinaonesie · 19/11/2012 11:09

mamalovesmojitos · 19/11/2012 11:12

Badvocsanta · 19/11/2012 11:32

Would love to get dh an iPod touch, they are very expensive :(
Saw a refurbished one in ebay for £99.
Still can't afford that, though!

WantAnOrange · 19/11/2012 11:36

EVERYTHING! Blush

Going to Exeter tomorrow with MIL for Xmas shopping trip. Dirt poor though!

Only buying for PILs, DH and the kids (DS, 6yo and DD, 7weeks). Everyone else will make do with a card!

Im doing dinner for the first time this year so still need to order Turkey and get most of the food. We made Christmas pud yesturday.

TeaOneSugar · 19/11/2012 11:40

I've got a bit to do, but I'm holding off until DH and I go on our annual christmas shopping day out, it's really all about the big cooked breakfast, coffee/cake stops and spending a bit of time together really, but I'll probably finish off my list that day.

Except DDs bunk beds, which need to be ordered and delivered a week or so before Christmas, I need to plan a day for DH to collect mattresses as well, a bit complicated logistically. We can't store it and need to take her old one to the recycling centre before it closed for Christmas, so she'll be getting it early.

TeaOneSugar · 19/11/2012 11:43

If anyone is interested, I save all year for christmas with Park, you get vouchers rather than cash, but as you pay direct debit you can't dip in during the year.

Happy to share how it works.

OhTheConfusion · 19/11/2012 11:48

LINK to the current bargain christmas thread. There are lots of good deals to help save pennies and pounds!

anja1cam · 19/11/2012 13:54

ALL DONE on the shopping front (including DH birthday on the 24th) - could do with token one for my parents...

Of course half are still in the post, so if something happens with the delivery I'm stuck... I also need to make up a couple of baking kits - but all ingredients are ready.
And I still need to bake loads and loads of biscuits that I usually give a presents....

gnushoes · 19/11/2012 14:05

Everything. It's only November and two birthdays to go before even think about you-know-what...

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 19/11/2012 14:20

I have most of my presents bought, except need more for DD2 as she only has a string of really nice fairy lights thus far - in addition to stocking stuff, of course. It's difficult at 9 though - what she wants and what I'm prepared to buy for her are poles apart (plastic tat which will be broken/boring by boxing day vs beautiful, useful lovely things). At least we agree on books, so may go down that route.
Aaaargh! Just realised bought nothing for MIL or her delightful dh. I usually try to get her something nice she wouldn't buy herself, which isn't hard as she only shops in charity shops. But I know she'll return whatever I buy and use the money to buy 200 pairs of socks, 7 pairs of trousers that don't quite fit or 10 cheap blouses in the sale that she'll never wear and end up 'donating' to DD1 in about 10 years time. She's definitely a quantity over quality kind of gal.
