I've got an ancient copy of Jung's Memories, Dreams & Reflections from my mum.

What's yours?

Sorry, got distracted by leftover turkey.

I make the empty crisp packets into handbags. They did come with another gift as well, its just that someone was kind enough to save me some.

TheAnnoyingSatsuma · 26/12/2011 19:23

handbags? wow, do you have any pictures?

Ineedacleaneriamalazyslattern · 26/12/2011 19:25

A Bissell carpet sweeper from my mum. Grin
She had one and I was enthusing over it in the summer. She even went the extra mile to choose one suitable for my wooden floors as well as my carpets. I love it and it is so handy with all the crumbs that get dropped by 3 dc on a daily basis.

maamalady · 26/12/2011 19:34

Cake tins. To transport cake in, not bake it. Gone are the days of creating protective contraptions with plates and tinfoil!

EndoplasmicReticulum · 26/12/2011 20:06

Satsuma - not of mine, but if you Google Images "candy wrapper purse" you'll see the sort of thing.

elkiedee · 26/12/2011 23:12

I bought dp a book about stars and planets, mainly because it was the only thing I could see in the local indie bookshop in my mum's town that looked relevant. He'd brought ds1's kids books on the subject up with us so I bought him a version for slightly bigger boys...

My big present was my birthday one, money to buy a Kindle, in the summer, but I have a big Amazon voucher to buy more stuff for it.

Last year Santa brought the kids toothbrushes which they played with for ages on Christmas morning, but this year dp had just bought us all loads of new toothbrushes so I told Santa's elves we didn't need any more.

TheAnnoyingSatsuma · 27/12/2011 08:21

Endo - those bags are fun!

ChunkyMonkeyMother · 27/12/2011 09:41

A brand new set of pans! I was so excited when I opened them, my mother on the other hand said she would have thrown them back at my DH and has in the past thrown an iron at my dad when he bought her one for Christmas about 20 years ago ha ha I love them!

ChunkyMonkeyMother · 27/12/2011 09:43

Oh and a muffin tray from Lakeland!

mogs0 · 27/12/2011 16:02

24 piece cutlery set from my mum. She was so worried before I opened it Grin. This Christmas was the first one I have hosted so it was lovely to have a nice new set. As I was laying the table early on Christmas morning (before I had received mum's gift) I was thinking I should have invested in some new cutlery!

lljkk · 27/12/2011 16:19

I got a set of kitchen scales and a kenwood multi chef. Everyone else in the room looked at me as if they expected me to feign delight but i was squeeling with excitement. I couldn't have picked better presies this year.

mumeeee · 30/12/2011 21:41

A set of silicon kitchen utensils from DD1. I'm having a new kitchen in the new year and she thought I'd like something new to go in it. I actually love them.

Those bags look cool. You should make them from Pombear wrappers. It could be the new MN symbol, that scarf is so last year Wink
