So yesterday my Mum decided what she'd like for Xmas - a box set of a TV series.
Yesterday I ordered it from Amazon who informed me delivery date would be 28th - 30th December.
This morning the postman delivered it!!!!!

Amazing!

I agree.

DuchessofMalfi · 24/12/2011 13:35

Me too! I placed a last minute order with Amazon on Tuesday evening. They said the parcel would be delivered at the earliest on 30th December. It arrived this morning.

KatAndKit · 24/12/2011 13:40

No complaints from me. I didn't even start my xmas shopping until last Friday and Saturday, and it has all been delivered on time from Amazon.
Full marks to M&S too. I had some emergency present ordering to do, and ordered it at 6pm on Thursday. Was delivered for a relatively small fee by lunchtime on Friday.

Since we are all quick to complain when things go wrong, it is lovely to see a thread where we offer praise.

Amazon has been great for us too. Final package arrived yesterday, so all peaceful in the EB household.

The only task at hand now is figuring out how to keep dd sane/occupied - she is SO excited!

mynameis · 24/12/2011 14:52

Another Amazon thumbs up here. I have a couple of early Jan birthdays and the parcels have already come for those too Grin

startail · 24/12/2011 14:58

I've got an Amazon Market place order several days ago, that's come from Germany via DHL, it took less than a week. I don't need it till Feb.Grin
Last year I got piles of books all in time to see my parents at New year despite very late orders and the weather.
Next order for DD2 was ridiculously fast,it was less than 48 hrs. standard rate.

Alouisee · 24/12/2011 15:09

Really well said. Hurrah for Amazon and Royal Mail.

Pancakeflipper · 24/12/2011 15:16

Another one giving pats on the back to Amazon ( ok I will forget the drama early Dec with the dinosaur - it got sorted eventually).

Big hugs to Royal Mail. Even the guy at the sorting office forgot to roll his eyes at me this week but beamed and apologised for keeping us waiting.

And an extra big hug RMail for not making us pay the extra postage for that package MIL sent full of Christmas cards.

BlatherskitesInFairyLights · 24/12/2011 15:22

Amazon have been fab but Royal Mail not so good.

2 of my Amazon orders have been "out for delivery" for over a fortnight now! Luckily Amazon were fab and posted out replacements first class (rather than the Super Saver delivery the originals had been) and so I have the presents in time after all.

I wonder if the original items will ever arrive or if they'll be sat in that van forever?

stressheaderic · 24/12/2011 15:23

I can concur - Amazon delivered our Christmas this year, and a bloody good job they did too. Cheers!

Northernlurker · 24/12/2011 15:27

Royal Mail have been great for us - everythng that's been ordered has been delivered to us between 7 and 8am - I haven't had to collect anything from the depot.

tallulah · 24/12/2011 15:30

Us too. All Amazon deliveries arrived. Even the stuff I ordered on Sunday afternoon.

Opened a BS account for DD in the next town on Thursday and they said they'd post the book to me. Despite posting it second class it arrived yesterday Grin. Wasn't expecting it until after Xmas.

Sleepyspaniel · 24/12/2011 17:08

Our Royal Mail postman was knocking on the door on SUNDAY morning Shock with a parcel for us

Amazing service this year from RM and Amazon

NOTHING has gone missing!!!

Well done to them

somedayillbesaturdaynite · 24/12/2011 17:13

another happy customer :) ordered some last-minute toys from amazon & play.com marketplace early hours of yesterday and they were all here by 11am with no postage paid!!!

GeriManda · 24/12/2011 17:14

I had to return something to Amazon (not urgent) on Tuesday and they'd already refunded me by Thursday!

GeriManda · 24/12/2011 17:16

And I didn't even send it 1st class.

Ambi · 24/12/2011 17:20

Agreed OP, placed an order with a few sellers on Tuesday night hoping but not expecting to get them in time, arrived on Friday. Yay to Amazon

HeadsRollingInTheAisles · 24/12/2011 19:05

Royal Mail and Amazon have been amazing here too. Postman delivered one parcel on Sunday too which was great!

Annunziata · 24/12/2011 19:14

Amazon did lose one of ours but their customer service was absolutely fab- they refunded it straight away and found it for the next morning! So impressed!

Kellywestie · 24/12/2011 19:51

Same here too - everything has been delivered in time. Well done to both companies Thanks Lovely to be able to give well deserved praise in a world where everyone is so quick to criticise! Xmas Smile

ByTheSea · 24/12/2011 20:07

I ordered loads about 8 days ago and it all got here in plenty of time.

Hulababy · 24/12/2011 20:13

All my orders - mainly Amazon but also a couple of smaller shops too - have arrived on time and complete too. Even Amazon US arrived in super fast time. Been very very pleased.

QED · 24/12/2011 20:44

Ordered something supersaver on about 21st and it came today :)

Brillant service from both here too, well done Amazon and RM. :)

3duracellbunnies · 24/12/2011 21:04

Royal mail have been great, little wobble with dvd dispatched 1st class didn't arrive until yesterday, but all here now. And cheerful postie delivering them. Parcelfarce managed to be 48hrs late for guaranteed next day delivery, but all sorted now!
