I love giving Christmas presents and am looking forward to giving all of mine, but I'm most looking forward to seeing my husband's face when he opens his no it's not me

I've got him an iPad2 which is a total surprise as he knows I am broke as am a sahm. He is expecting a t shirt. However, I've been selling stuff on eBay for MONTHS and finally managed to get enough money to buy the iPad. I made loads off my old toys (which are sadly now vintage) and made over 80 on the my little ponies alone!

So think he will be Shock on Christmas morning.
What gift are you most looking forward to giving?

DD's present which is a bundle of dressing up stuff I won on ebay Smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/12/2011 19:11

Harry Potter from Page To Screen for dd2 - it is huge and chock-full of amazing photographs and artwork. I can see her spending the whole of Christmas Day either drooling over it or drawing from it.

But I think my best idea overall has to be the 'extra' gift we are doing for my nephew. We've bought loads and loads of different kinds of sweets and are going to repackage them all in small bags/goblets/interesting boxes etc with interesting looking labels as if they have come from Honeydukes sweet shop. I can't wait to a) get it made and b) see him open it!

PurplePidjInAPearTree · 05/12/2011 19:14

Lego for DNephew, age 4 so I can play with it

ToothlesstheDragon · 05/12/2011 19:14

a blind guardian cd for my DH, it will be such a surprise for him

The green helicopter my 3 year old DS wanted from santa. It's his first year of understanding and i cant wait to see his face

Wheelybug · 05/12/2011 19:21

Dd2's bike or her peppa pig swings playset. She's only 2.9 but has been desperate for both for ages. We've struggled to find a bike small enough because her legs are so short but have managed it. Can't wait to see her face !

MamaPizza · 05/12/2011 19:26

I can't wait to see DS's face when he opens his micro scooter. And the Kiddizoom twist. There will be lots of cheers Xmas Grin

Scout19075 · 05/12/2011 19:34

Toddler is 2.1 and doesn't understand Santa or presents (though he is starting to figuire out how to open them). I can't wait until he opens/sees his Brio Train Set. We got him a set and then lots of extra trains, tracks, etc. Every time we go anywhere with a train table he's there in a flash and happy for ages.

olibeansmummy · 05/12/2011 19:37

I can't wait to give ds (2 1/2) his interactive buzz and woody. He's toy story mad and will love them soooo much Grin

PontyMython · 05/12/2011 20:02

DD has been desperate for a Snow White dress since starting nursery last year. Can't wait to see her face when she opens the dressing up box I've been putting together for months, with the dress at the top :)

Lovely thread idea BTW, I don't really give a monkeys what I get but I'm so excited about seeing the DCs open theirs!

I'm really looking forward to DH and the DCs opening a joint present. DH has in the past mentioned a particular type of bendy car track, and I found some. He is so confused as to why he's got a present to share with the DCs :o

VoldemortsNipple · 05/12/2011 23:56

Remus, can I be your nephew :o

Can't wait to see DDs face when she gets her HP inspired necklace. It's a Victorian style heart shaped glass necklace with the words "Always said Snape" and a little silver doe to represent his patranus.

Ds1 has a swiss army knife with his name engraved on the blade.

Ds2 has a lego head storage box which sorts the lego out Into different sizes.

I can't wait to see them open these. They have no idea about them.

CherrysOnTheNaughtyList · 06/12/2011 00:05

i cant wait ti see dd1's face when she opens the giant lotso bear i got for her. she fell in love with it in the disney store a few weeks ago, but it was £40, and she carried it around the whole store for ages, then didnt want to leave. she was very good about putting it back and leaving so i planned to get her one. went onto the disney store website about a week later, and they had reduced all their giant plush toys to £20 so i bought it for her. she is going to love it, toy story is one of her current obsessions, along with hello kitty and mario and wario.

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 06/12/2011 00:14

Not a christmas gift, but my mums birthday friday.
My baby brother passed away last year and with the help of my step dad I managed to photocopy the handprint the hospital took and have had it set into a silver pendant for her, she's been looking for 'something' for 18mnths to keep with her but couldn't afford this, I've saved for nearly that whole time for her

worm77daisy · 06/12/2011 06:12

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother Jonglebean, your gift is such a lovely and thoughtful idea.

Bethshine82 · 06/12/2011 08:27

jjinglebean what a lovely idea, I bet your mum will be really touched. It sounds like just the sort of thing she wanted. X

Thank you, its been impossible keeping it a secret, she always finds out, and I'm desperate to give it to her! but so far so good. I have my own dcs finger prints and I know how special they are and my two are here and well, I hope it helps, I really do! X

winnybella · 06/12/2011 09:15

What a lovely idea, JjingleBean.

I'm rather excited to see DD's (2.10) face when she opens her Corolle doll that pees on her potty. I also got her nappies for her, clothes and a doctor's set. I think DD will be delighted.

DS will get Lego Star Wars set, it's the one he wanted but I told him I'm not sure he'll get it as it's very expensive.

babyonbord · 06/12/2011 09:57

I've bought my ds1 (2 and a half) a toffee the pony, he is desperate for one, vereytime he sees a picture of one he puts his hand over it and says "mine" (which is how he asks for things) I can't wait to see his face on christmas day, i've bought him the fisher price amaizng animals train with about a million extra animals that i spent months scouring ebay for since you can no longer buy them in shops, but he's going to love them, and i've got him both of the leapfrog violet dogs he wanted, he is going to be so spoilt this year but mind you so is his little brother and their dad i don't dare calculate how much i have spent.

LauraShigihara · 06/12/2011 10:20

I wants a necklace like VoldemortsNipples DD's. That sounds amazing!

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDoom · 06/12/2011 10:38

Miguel Tuna is coming home this Christmas full story here if you want it Grin and I can't wait to see DDs face.
No3 son is getting a dress up panda suit, and no4 son is getting a dinosaur suit and I think they should go down well too Grin
This is the first year in, well, years, that I've actually felt remotely festive or looked forward to Christmas at all.

MilkNoSugarPlease · 06/12/2011 12:40

Mum and dads gifts...they know me and DB are broke so have said nothing is fine or something very small if we want to buy anything...but they are also skint and it's been a shite shite year so we've saved for ages

Between them they have

v posh/expensive Meat cleaver (as you do)
3 x Socks (£10 per pair...for socks...socks!)
Torchwood dvds
Leather gloves
Poole vase
Chocolates/Fudge
Whisky
Rum
£150 john lewis vouchers

I'm excited :o

Am stupidly excited about Miguel Tuna though!!

MilkNoSugarPlease · 06/12/2011 12:41

Or the T-shirt I've had made for friends daughter...has the nickname I call her written on it and an accompanying picture that also refers to it

she's going to looove it!

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 06/12/2011 12:48

Dh is getting stone roses tickets - he has NO idea.

Ds is getting an imaginext t rex which he will be v excited about.

Ds will be most chuffed about eating the paper but I'm looking forward to giving her her train set.

lljkk · 06/12/2011 13:17

None. :(
Which is especially terrible because I have actually tried very hard to get them stuff I know they'll like.
But somehow I'm sure the items won't be "quite" what they most want. Which are items either I won't allow (XBox/PSP3+COD4), or I can't sanction (pony), or wouldn't fit my budget (a top quality metal detector, they cost >250), or DH needs to research carefully himself to get what would make him truly excited (some type of helmet CAM).

That's pants, really, isn't it? Blardy Lot of ingrates. No wonder I'm thinking about working in a homeless shelter Xmas day.

I am looking forward to my present, mind.

heymammy · 06/12/2011 13:21

Found some Moshi Monsters T-shirts on play.com yesterday for the dds, they will LOVE them Grin

TartyMcFalalalalalalalalarty · 06/12/2011 14:28

Great thread!

DD's music thing - we go to Rhythm Time and she absolutely loves it - we have to listen to the CD in the car all the sodding time.

Also got my DF and DSM tickets to see Rhod Gilbert in Cardiff yesterday and they'll love that - it was an idea I'd had a while ago but the tour was only announced recently Smile
