I really like reading what's in everyone else's Xmas Smile

DD (4.6)

  • little play figures from various films she likes, all from ebay - Toy Story, Wallace and Gromit etc. If I'd thought about it, they would've been perfect for a fabric/wooden advent calendar, but it's a bit late now!
  • cuddly Dangermouse and Penfold
  • Science Museum 'instant photos'
  • Little Einsteins xmas DVD
  • mini Xmas jigsaw

DS (2.4)

  • Happyland figures that were too small for the tree
  • Disney snake figure (I think it's Kaa? From ebay again)
  • mini snake colouring book
  • cuddly Hong Kong Phooey
  • ELC colouring cards and crayon
  • Roary xmas DVD
  • Roary mini library
  • magnetic fishing

They are both getting a clementine, a toothbrush and a magic flannel (tradition) and also this year a train each (Brio style) with their initials on.

Also need something very small and chocolatey, any ideas?

Ponty, it's surely gotta be chocolate coins?!

PontyMython · 04/12/2011 09:33

Oh which Julia Donaldson book? Highway Rat? I've reserved that at the library. I love her books :)

I was wondering about chocolate coins, but they thanks to their softie daddy have them during the year anyway, so they won't be special IYSWIM?

Last year I got them a chocolate snowman lolly but they were too big Hmm maybe something like a little chocolate figure, they have that sort of thing in supermarkets I guess? [online-shopper clueless about town centre emoticon]

Still to get pants and socks, chunky crayons for ds3, geeky wathammer bits for ds1, will take a trip to hawkins (I think it's called) for wind up toys, etc. Also need to find Pez dispensers and sweets as they have them every year and it's one of their favourite bits of their stockings.

Its going to be a squeeze getting us all in our bed this year!

CaptainMartinCrieff · 04/12/2011 09:43

DS 20 months

Thomas mini library
Torch
Bell for his trike
Chocolate coins
Chocolate snowman
Christmas decoration for the tree
Toy saxophone
There will also be a banana and satsuma.

PontyMython · 04/12/2011 09:49

My mum got DD a little felt art thing (not fuzzy felt, it's one where you peel n stick onto a template) so I think I might wrap that too.

I agree, stakes are rising somewhat aren't they, with everything Xmas related! I want them to have a nice full stocking as in our house FC only does stockings and 1 tree gift, so I want them to know FC loves them too :o I stick to stuff I would like them to have anyway, though, rather than getting specific 'stocking fillers' IYSWIM, but that's more due to space/money issues.

Dd 8 has Beano figures (Mcdonalds toys from ebay)
Mario figures (ridiculously cheap from China off of ebay)
Pokemon figures and cards in a tin (again very cheap from China off of ebay)
Magic flannel, toothbrush, and chapsticks (she thinks they are lipstick)
Some nail varnish (washes off with soap and water)
A paperback book (have bought lots so will just choose one and the rest will go under the tree.
Some Mario earphones (her sister has bought her an MP3 player)
Some nice pens and pencils with her name on.
Bobbles and slides fro her hair.
A whoopee cushion (tradition)
She doesn't really like sweets or chocolate but will put in a packet of buttons that she probably will pass onto me Grin
Satsuma and a handful of nuts as always.

2kidsintow · 04/12/2011 11:05

When I was a kid our stocking was one of Dad's (new) black socks. Satsuma in the end, some chocolate coins and a couple of tiny things to keep us amused if we woke up early. I remember the year that Mum made us all each a red velvet stocking with a ribbon trim (different colour for each of us).

My DDs have a stocking that matches their sack - bought from Dunelm mill a few years ago.

In their stockings this year are
Christmas chocolates (cadbury wish, aero tree etc)
Satsuma and a banana
Christmas notebook and pen
Kaleidoscope
Light up fan
Sequin art picture
Design a butterfly craft bit

MegBusset · 04/12/2011 16:02

DSes (2.7 and 4.9):

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 04/12/2011 16:06

DD (6.8)

Hello Kitty top trumps
Hello kitty hair bobbles
Minnie Mouse wash flannel
Chocolate Coins
Glitter Paints & brushes
Sylvanian family

think there is some more but not sure what!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/12/2011 16:39

DDs 14 and 16 each have:

knickers
funky socks
a Starbucks card
Nutella
Popping candy
Selection box

Will probably get them some bubble bath, hairspray, nail varnish remover, cotton wool etc.

wildstrawberryplace · 04/12/2011 16:51

DS (5)

Lindt chocolate santa (always at the top peeking out - kind of Santa's signature!)
Chocolate coins and satsuma
transformer
gogo's (from Ebay) in a little drawstring bag I made from cute fabric
mini maglite torch
sound effects machine thing
storio cartridge kungfu panda
Marvel heroes badges
bullets for nerf
batman lego PJs
stickers
Djeco paper toys - dragons and wizard
Mini lego brick box with 6 starwars minifigures in (again, figures from Ebay)
colouring book and pencils
Book - The Indian in the Cupboard
star wars t shirt
A recorder
Klutz spirograph set

I made the mistake of making him a very voluminous stocking when he was tiny which he is attached to now and it takes a lot of filling! He has a big present under the tree too, but that's it really.

SilveryMoon · 04/12/2011 16:55

  • a mini santa snowglobe

  • pack of chocolate coins
  • some kind of cereal bar and fruit in case they aren't interested in breakfast
  • pack of Ben 10 stickers

melliebobs · 04/12/2011 17:15

I don't have a DC yet (next xmas though :-) ) but always do a childish stocking for DH based on the stuff i always used to get as a kid and growing up! So this year it will be the following.

  • Chocolate coins
  • Bag of special toffee
  • Bubbles
  • Silly socks (He's strictly black socks so got him some garish patterned/coloured ones from topman!)
  • Silly pants (he's got spongebob boxers this year!)
  • A pen that either lights up or has glitter in it or some kind of character on the end
  • Tissues (why my mum always got me tissues I don't know!)
  • Mug for work
PontyMython · 04/12/2011 17:50

im also going to get my 6yr old son a little book light thing (dont know what theyre called)

DSs getting a lot of the same things (4yo and 2yo):

Lego Mini figures
Lego little boxes
Moshi Mystery packets
Happy Feet/Muppets DVD
Usborne Sun, Wind and Moon/Hairy Maclary Shoo
Pocket torches
Chocolate Build-a-Robot from Sainsburys

Socks and pants (not got them yet)

Everyone gets satsuma, choc coins and 20p in foil. Also, I've been looking out for those magic flannels but still haven't seen them - am I looking in the wrong place?
