Could you be more Christmas SOH? I LOVE it! Xmas Smile

CalatalieSisters · 02/12/2011 14:42

Christmas Eve hamper? That's a new one on me. Is it something that's been done for a while that the shops have cottoned on to? Or is it a completely fresh way of turning Christmas into shopping?

countlessbabychams · 02/12/2011 15:08

May I nominate ShowOfHands as Christmas organiser extraordinaire?

Xmas Smile

You sound like a lovely Mum!

countlessbabychams · 02/12/2011 15:11

Are you taking the piss?@SOH

HappyAsEyeAm · 02/12/2011 15:47

i can't do links ATM sorry, but I have bought the soldier ones from Boots for DS from their Christmas collection at £12/pair, and they are part for their 3 for 2.

i have also bought the train ones for DS from JoJos, which are £16 and gorgeous.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 02/12/2011 16:35

Tinsel Xmas Confused Why would SoH be taking the piss? I, on the other hand, am taking notes!

I got some White Company ones for the boys from their outlet so v.cheap. DS2 is 8 months and his sleepsuit has got little trees and bears all over it!

I love the idea of a hamper, I will have to discuss it with DH.

ShowOfHands · 02/12/2011 21:26

I absolutely am NOT taking the piss.

VikingWenceslas · 03/12/2011 18:21

I now officially need to introduce the Xmas eve hamper idea into my family.

Tinselitis · 03/12/2011 18:26

Sorry SOH. No offence. I just PMSL at '....as the mist inevitably rolls in across the sea, you know that the Master Elf and Father Christmas are casting a magical curtain between us and the skies so that no human eyes see the sleigh'

Peacocks for all four of us this year, I want to be able to take photos on Christmas morning without having to worry about DS just wearing a tee shirt and underpants as he usually does, or my legs poking unflatteringly out of my old nightshirts. We don't do the hamper thing, they are just an early present from me, I have trouble pretending Santa exists let alone elves and such like. We will have a picnic tea round the fire after church and put out our mince pies that we make in the morning.

bytheMoonlight · 03/12/2011 19:22

Love all the suggestions, thank you Smile

I went with elf pj's in the end for my two daughters I failed to see why only boys could be elves. I am stupidly exiccited about the photos with them both wearing matching elf pj's Grin

SOH I melted at your description Smile What a beautiful day you have. And a very helpful description as well because I have been scratching around for something to Christmas eve that wouldn't take any effort and stew in the slow cooker is just perfect! Comforting homemade and delicious!

Primarks's baygro's here - reindeer ones for DD (8) and moneky ones for ds (9)!!

LadyWord · 03/12/2011 20:27

For DS SO fab, I want some myself!

For DD not quite as exciting, she'll like them but if I see something fab I might save the next ones for "normal".

countlessbabychams · 03/12/2011 21:27

bytheMoonlight those elf PJ's are the best!!

Sadly they only seem to go to 5-6 years (not 40+ years)

Oh well,I'll keep looking Grin

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 03/12/2011 21:38

I'm heading to tescos this weekend for ds and dd, 4 and 3.

I'm torn between wincyette (sp) snowflake ones or fleece toy soldier/angel...

Me and dp will have matching navy bottoms with snowflakes on from asda, although dp is begging me to allow him the fluffy santa ones and I'd have to have elf ones Hmm

bytheMoonlight · 04/12/2011 18:58

Well because of that information Jingle, we will all be wearing elf outfits Christmas day Grin

scabbysnake · 04/12/2011 19:17

ds1 has a fleece spiderman suit
ds2 has a cars fleece suit
it gets chilly at mine so its normally fleeces, last year they had buzz ones. hopefully this year they will be happy with different ones

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 04/12/2011 22:54

I would like to see pictures bythemoonlight
