Please help - what is DD4 describing????

Hope someone out there can help me. DD4 has written a letter to santa today asking for a toy cat with clothes to dress up in. I told her that I don't think they exist but both her and DS7 say they have seen an advert for one on tv. I've searched through argos, tesco and the entertainer catalogues but drawn a blank.

Any mumsnetters out there know what she is describing? She only has 2 things on her list so really want to find it.

Build a bear stuff?

MumToSophie · 30/11/2011 19:26

Could it be puss in boots? Just thinking she may have seen an advert for this.

thisisyesterday · 30/11/2011 19:26

yeah build a bear. or ikea do dogs/cats with outfits which would be a lot less expensive!

can you ask DS to tell you when it comes on tv next?

GiraffeAHolic · 30/11/2011 19:26

long shot I know

possible

Runoutofideas · 30/11/2011 19:28

this ?

I've just asked my boys about this, and they think your dd is describing an advert on tv, where 4 ladies are dressing up a real cat. They can't remember what the ad is for, but it's not for a toy. I'll try and google it, but just incase it jogs anyones memory.

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 30/11/2011 19:46

my dc's love build a bear, you can dress them up, in dresses, tops, shoes the lot, and they have been advertised on tv

Design a bear? although i'm not sure if there is a cat but have seen the advertised a few times (they are argos's version of build a bear).

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 30/11/2011 19:49

and they are showing some cats in christmas outfits on their website

FurReal cookie cat? That's what my DD wants.

sadmum1000 · 30/11/2011 20:33

Thanks. I love the build a bear's but she's obsessed with cats. She watches milkshake in the morning so I presume it's an advert on there. She says it's a toy cat with clothes that you can dress them in....
Don't think the FurReal toys come with clothes but I'll check it out.

Tried to google but end up on websites doing clothes for real cats!

Build a bear had a hello kitty in?

TooManyBlossoms · 30/11/2011 20:38

Build a bear Tabby Cat

Although the description says "soft and striped and full of spunk" so not necessarily what you're looking for.

sadmum1000 · 30/11/2011 20:41

Thanks - just checked it out. Thing is she loves hello kitty and knows who puss in boots is so the fact that she just says 'cat' and preferably pink means it's probably not a known character. Driving me so mad I'm tempted to phone channel 5 and ask for a list of advertisers... although I'm nit sure if they will answer.
Really appreciate all your help ... keep any ideas coming please.

Sylvanian family cats?

Marne · 30/11/2011 20:50

Could it have been some kind of Kinect x-box game? i have seen some advertised where the the add makes it look like the pet/animal is in the room with you. Something like this ??

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 30/11/2011 20:50

in build a bear they do hello kittys in white, orange and pink!!!!

ballstoit · 30/11/2011 20:55

I think in the ad for the Furreal cat that the little girl dresses it in a pink, sparkly coat thing...does that sound like what she's describing?

I don't recall any other cat with clothes in adverts and, as DD2 seems to be actively seeking illness recently, I have watched a hell of a lot of Nick Jr recently Grin

Lilyloo · 30/11/2011 20:56

these ?

or these ?

Or is it an advert for nintendogs / cats

Jbck · 30/11/2011 21:04

Could you not record milkshake and watch it with her later in the day, see if she reacts without being really obvious?

Marne · 30/11/2011 21:06

this ?

sadmum1000 · 30/11/2011 21:07

Wish I could but we can't record tv. Bit of a long shot but I've just emailed channel 5 although don't expect a reply.
