Dd (7) - no ideas at all.

I really have absolutely no ideas for what to buy dd3. She think she's quite grown up as her 3 older sibs are all teenagers. Too old for dolls etc, what on earth can I get her? I really don't want to get clothes. No real idea of budget but really don't want a spoilt child. Will happily spend on something great. She has no interest in ps3/Wii etc (hooray). We are very rural so no real opps to use roller skates etc.

My DD is 7 and is also hard to buy for. She wants a lot of those craf type things like Zubber....what about getting yours some art type things? Does she like art?

Does she like dens? What about a treehouse or wooden garden den//house?

I have a 7 year old dd. This year she is having;

she also wants a body anatomy thing which Hamley's have at the moment

We are getting a flicker scooter. Not really happy about it to be honest as we currently own 2 scooters, and have bought 2 more slightly different ones for the twins who are 3 in a fortnight.
We are also getting lots of craft stuff, DVDs, books. And absolutely no plastic crap

Thanks for the ideas - craft stuff would appeal, I just need to try to remember what she got last year and not get the same! She has a scooter (well, with 4 kids there are loads knocking about the garage). Got as Bright Minds catalogue yesterday so will have a look through for some ideas.

I'm struggling with dd too - also 7 and has camera, cd player, ds already. I'm now thinking walkie talkies, make-up set (yuk but shell love it), barbie hairtastic (requested) art stuff.

I've seen a Barbie mansion thing advertised on television.

My dd(7) has asked for Lego and build a bear 'eric the penguin', she also likes zubber and crafty things.

it depends how much you want to spend.

If I were a rural child who thinks I'm more grownup than I am, then something like a camera, or an explorer's kit?
You can buy usborne spotter's guides - pocket books for going out in the countryside looking for bugs and plants etc.
telescope is a good idea - lolts of stars in the countryside.
or binoculars
something for her own little garden maybe? trowel set, seeds, etc.

DD is 6 and getting the V-Tech Twist camera as her main present. I think she'll love it as she's always badgering me for my camera. Also, there's lots you can do with it besides just taking photos.

Also thinking of getting this as she loves Hama beads but this way can do something useful with them.

DD2 is 7, she is getting the 3DS for her big present, lots of Sylvanian families, the Fur Real Lulu cat, some Monster High things. We are getting a soap making kit to do together before Xmas so she can give them out as presents, she is really excited about that. Shes also getting some Hello Kitty (thats a real winner as her big sis likes it too), and shes still asking for Bratz and Moxie Girls stuff (I hate them, but having grown up with tons of Barbies, I dont believe they will do her any lasting harm).

Zhu zhu pets and Zoobles are big too.

Shes a bit reader, so loads of those Rainbow Fairy books, book people have a huge set for £15.

Yet more ideas! She has a camera, we have a telescope, I don't do tvs or anything like that. Has a small ipod - all I'm prepared to buy at her ageThe toy stuff mentioned - as dd's sisters are 18 and 16 she's kind of done it, which I feel a bit sorry about, but I'm not a soft toy fan anyway. Bratz I can not bring myself to do.

I can't do rainbow fairies (have them all anyway as she is dc4) - she loves Lemony Snicket at the moment but we have those too. She uses the sewing machine with her lovely sis (16 and enjoying textiles GCSE) so wouldn't like a children's one. Our lovely neighbour gets her perfume etc from her work shop. I can find lots of craft stuff for small presents but would love a big present.

A lot of books she might like? E.g. Complete Harry Potter? Large puzzles? Lego?

Is there something she would love to learn to do? Like a block of riding lessons maybe?

I have had the same dilemma but have settled on the game 'Operation' and using my Tesco vouchers to get an annual subscription to National Geographic's Kids magazine. Oh, and fleecy all in on jimjams.

DD is 7 and getting a fliker, as are the other 3 7yo girls on the street lol.

She is also getting lots of craft things, a hamper of girly bath stuff, nail varnishes, lip balms andd that kind of things, also puzzles, books, pjs and hama beads, bath bomb maker and soap maker.

Matilda looks really good - have just been discussing Christmas things to do in London with dds 1 and 2. She's said she'd like roller skates but the nearest park/suitable place to use them is about 5 miles away - can't use them on the drive and no pavements round here so she couldn't just use them without forward planning and a trip in the car. As 4th child we are alreay loaded up with all board games/sets of books so a trip is a good way to go I think. Roll on her birthday in January.......

Between now and Christmas I also have ds's 15th, dd2's 16th and dd1's 18th. Not great planning!

A pony ??

I can't tell you how many brownie points I got from DD (also 7) for getting her a hamster last year. Will have to cash them in this year as no idea this time round

My eldest will be 7 next week, really struggled to think what to get her too - ended up with nano hexbugs & habitat, fur-real style pony i found on amazon and is lovely, very snuggly although none of the instructions in english (!) for christmas she's getting a bike. An idea that we considered for her birthday was a pony day, she would get to muck out and groom the ponies, then have an hours riding lesson, saving that one for next year. Perhaps a trip to theatre/ballet?
