This is in chat as well. It's a bit of a mystery, and a bit of fun.

So, we moved into our house 10 years ago. The first Xmas card we have received, usually in late November, every single year since we moved in has been a Lifeboat card, to Lady Faulkner (sp?) from Tony. It never says anything more than that, and there is never any address, note, further comments. The address is perfect, including the postcode. We are expecting our eleventh in the next week or so!!

The previous owners presumably had this card too - they were not Faulkner. As far as we know, there has not been a Lady Faulkner living here. (Just an additional point - this is a small terraced 2 bed in a not-particularly-posh (!!) part of London - we are not talking about a 10 bedroom mansion in the country - if Lady Faulkner ever did live here, she must have been down on her luck!) The house was only built c. 1985.

DH looked in Burke's Peerage (is that the book?) but there was nobody obvious matching the name.

WWYD? Smile

Try that again

There is a Lady Faulkner widow of former NI PM Brian Faulkner. Would be older person now possibly in her 80s. Could she have lived there at some point? Or is your road name a common name or a name which could also be found in, say, Chelsea? Grin

Also add that Lady Falkender has a brother called Tony. Maybe she didn't tell him she moved!

Im not sure where you find this info - Land Registry maybe but you can find out all previous owners if you havn't already, and maybe try some of the other numbers incase Tony has the wrong house?

PrincessOfWails · 09/11/2011 22:51

LOL! Quite like the idea that the rather glam looking Lady Falkender lived in our house!
The address isn't straightforward - in fact, it's quite specific, multi-layered, with an unusual street name. (!) I.e. we're not at no 6 tree crescent!

Or maybe Lady F was well to do and lived in a mansion in Chelsea with her husband but took a lover and rented your house as a secret meeting place. When she broke it off a heartbroken Tony continued to send a card each christmas as a reminder of their affair? or maybe I should get out a bit more Blush
