Its says it all really - and just shows how much stuff the kids must have already. Between dd and her 2 younger brothers, we have dolls, dressing up, kitchens, tea sets, trains, cars, rockets, scooters, lego, meccano, a million books, teddies, craft things, jigsaws and books.

She is quite girly, but happily plays with the boys and their toys.

I have asked here if there's anything she would like, and she couldn't come up with anything. I don't want to buy for the sake of it, but we need something for Christmas day!!! I have a few stocking filler bits, but no real present. No budget for bikes and ds's etc, so needs to be reasonably priced,

I feel 6 is an odd age - too young for somethings, too old for others.

Any suggestion as to what 6yrs olds are into????

My dd is 6 and I have got her the moshi monster binder (£10), a sylvanians school (£37.50) , some sylvanian hedgehogs (£12) , some rainbow magic fairy books (£3 for 6 in charity shop but brand new) and some horrid henry books (£10 from book people). Those are her big presents and I will also do her a stocking with the usual socks, chocolates, new toothbrush, bubble baths etc in it.

May also get her a new christmassy outfit and new xmas pyjamas nearer the time too.

Should be able to do the whole lot for under £100

Also, I bought her a second hand DS for her last birthday - only cost around £60 including case, game holders and several games - she hadnt got a clue it wasnt new, and wouldnt have cared anyway.

simpson · 24/10/2011 18:12

I have a 6yr old DS and I have bought him the leappad (he will share it with DD who is 3) ,a set of roller blades from argos for #20 (sorry pound sign not working Hmm) and a bdside lighht that clips onto bunk beds #30 I think.

Heavymetalmater · 24/10/2011 18:13

My DD will be six at christmas. Ideas i have had are as follows,
Watch, cd player thing from early learning centre for her room, smurfs duvet set, hama beads, rucksack for school, etch a sketch, playmobile, secret seven books.

She has asked for zuu zuu pets puppies and a huggle buddy and a scooter.

mrsbleasdale · 24/10/2011 18:16

I got the Argos roller blades for my dd too. They were a huge hit with her. The quality isn't amazing - the plastic has cracked a bit - but she has had them for coming up for 2 years and they still work fine. And they are very good value.

Or if you think she would like a bike, maybe you could get one second-hand? She won't care that it's not new.

happyhacker · 24/10/2011 19:11

I have a 5.7 year old dd and she is the youngest of three dds - she loves dolls so is getting a new dolly, a build-a-bear voucher, lots of colouring stuff and easy craft stuff and also a harumika dress doll thing that is recommended for 8+ but her sister has one and she loves it!

MonsterCherry · 24/10/2011 19:45

dd1 will be 7 in march, and wants a hello kitty scooter, a hello kitty mp3 player and a giant plush lotso bear from toy story 3. she love anything hello kitty or toy story at the moment.

NevilleBarnes · 24/10/2011 19:50

My DD is 6 and just had her birthday. She asked for a scooter, pyjamas, duvet cover, umbrella, soft toy (all Hello Kitty) and a £20 note Grin

Between the grandparents and ourselves we got it all except the cash!

She had some money from relatives which she has spent on a Hello Kitty card maker (laminating thing- really good) and a Club Puffin Puffle which I know nothing about, nor does she, she just thought it was cute.

Tillyscoutsmum · 24/10/2011 19:59

My dd and dsd are a year or so younger and older respectively than your dd and things on their lists are

Design a Friend (I have bought some already and it looks really lovely)
Huggle Buddies
Kiddiminiz
Playmobil swimming pool with slide
Moxie Girl Hair Salon thingy

We struggled last year for main presents and ended up buying them keepsake boxes. They both absolutely love them and they have been played with loads. We got them from here and would really recommend them

ENormaSnob · 24/10/2011 21:07

I have got dd(6) one of the design a friend dollys. They are really pretty.

She has also got a bmx, clothes, pjs, socks, books etc.

Her birthday is jan and she is having a pink mp3 and sylvanian stuff.

MyDingaling · 24/10/2011 21:14

I have got my 6 year old DD a pink CD player from Amazon with some story CDs and a disco ball.

mrsprestonburke · 24/10/2011 21:59

simpson can you give me more details about the bunkbed light? I want similar for ds but don't know where to begin to look.xx

ja9 · 24/10/2011 22:11

A discoball!!! My dc would LOVE that! Definately adding that to their wishlist!

simpson · 24/10/2011 23:10

mrspreston - its called a bunky you can get it from argos or amazon (just over thirty quid I think..)

Sorry can't do links Blush

It looks fab and the actual bulb doesn't get hot so you don't have to worry about them burning themselves Grin

simpson · 24/10/2011 23:12

forgot to say glad the argos roller blades seem ok Grin

Only wanted to get a cheap pair to start with just in case DS does not take to them (although I think he will) They start at shoe size 13 IIRC.

fifitrixibell · 25/10/2011 02:49

Not sure what we're getting our 6 yr old but my mum has got her a Vtech secret safe diary which is like a password journal but has games and virtual pet etc on it.

she got a skate board for her birthday which she loves.

bunnyspoiler · 25/10/2011 07:07

What are her hobbies? My DD always appreciates fancy paints and pens and 'naice' paper from the art supplies shop. Or maybe a musical instrument? You can get a decent recorder fairly cheaply. Second the Harumika fashion design kits they are great and re-usable so she can keep them rather than chuck them once done.

tummytickler · 25/10/2011 09:16

Roller blades are a great idea - going to pinch that one!
DD is 6, and so far she has got a Phineas and Ferb lockable diary, a fabulous fairy dress (from Australia, loads of petticoats, really amazing), a new baby doll dressed in Christmas woolies and a craft set!
She is desperate for a Gelarti set. I am not too sure about the quality, but I will get her one, and we will see!
She will also get some books, clothes, art supplies, a game and possibly Sylvanians or Playmobil, as well as whatever Father Christmas brings her (stockings only here!)

StaceymAloneForver · 25/10/2011 09:34

dd is just 7 (but a young 7 iykwim) and shes got a huggle buddy, a butterfly ina a jar (iwoot.com) a skipping rope and rainbow magic books

sunnyday123 · 25/10/2011 20:44

dd will be 6 in nov and i have got her the following:

micro scotter from john lewis
polly pocket plane, disco, tour bus and house
mixi chix house
barbie charm school bath/bed set
barbie sparkle lights mermaid
rapunzel glimmer lantern
lalaloopsy tree house
barbie hairtastic colour set
rapunzel dress
barbie pda (text messenger thing) - a substitute for DS which DH is against til she's older!
lego set - to add to existing stuff
always get 2-3 disney princess puzzels
build a bear accessories
papertastic -art set (TKMAXX have loads like this for 1/3 price of argos)
aqua beads, playdoh and moon sand sets (again!)

DD is VERY forthcoming with ideas! DD is obsessed with polly pocket and she had pretty much had everything they bring out - nightmare for the small pieces but comforting as i know she'll play with it.

sunnyday123 · 25/10/2011 20:45

oh also argos do a crayola disney princess book which you edit on PC to make your DD a character - story studio - i got his as its usually £18 everywhere and argos have reduced it to £8.50! Reviews good too

bigTillyMint · 25/10/2011 20:46

I'm sure DD had rollerboots when she was 6 - she loved them. She got a larger pair when she outgrew them and DS wore her old ones. They were pink Grin

sunnyday123 · 25/10/2011 20:46

wow that lists looks big but to clarify thats birthday and xmas!
