Well we seem to have filled up the last one so I started a new one. Hope that is ok with everyone!

Jacaqueen - I finally remembered to have a look at my Angel Chime. It is small - about 10 inches tall. Very light metal. Easy to put together. Looks ok. Word of warning - was searching for who it was who asked me and came across a post from someone whose parents had one and it burnt their table! So they get v. hot.

Food mostly taffetacat she was a very greedy cat who couldnt be bothered with toys. I also made her food mats for her bowls, all quilted!

Oh I do wish I could sew/work a machine. How hopelessly wonderful, quilted food mats! I have a friend who is looking for quilting commissions, but DH would, in fact, murder me.

I've never given our cat treats, just a bit of tuna when I open a tin or sometimes he licks the DCs emptyish plates after Sunday lunch. Once they have finished, I hasten to add.Blush Any snacky treats you'd care to recommend?

vintage lol at your Pink and Sparkly tom.

thanks for the orange/cloves advice.

profiterole there's a thread on arts and crafts about sewing rooms at the moment. Lots of Envy to be sure!

I've got our cards (ds2 aged 6m artwork I know, cheesy but sweet) coming from nursery but haven't started presents. I'm getting my sister a yarn bowl but am waiting for one to be made.

taffeta, it's a case of trial and error with cat treats, you just have to find what they like. Popular ones here are 'Good Girl' milk drops, like miniature milky bar buttons, or the catnip version; Tesco combinos which are a chewy middle surrounded by a crunchy outer; and Webbox chewy sticks in different flavours.

I have taught our cat to sit before I give the treat to her! Now she sits automatically if I've got the packet in my hand.

I have been busy with real life I am afraid and have fallen way behind in my preperations.

Today I must plant up my window box with white cyclamen and mini fir trees. I want to try and make a hanging holly ball for outside the back door too.

I bought some solar powered lights to go on the box trees at either side of the front door. Unfortunately they are a very bright white and not the soft white that I prefer. I now have the dilema of what to do with my other outside lights which are soft white. Should I buy some more bright white lights for the tree at the front so it matches the two box trees? Or is it OK to mix soft and bright white?

White Co winter candle has been burning away the past two evenings and I found some refresher oil which I have sprinkled onto pine cones to add to the effect.

Sorry to jump (have loved reading this thread) in but I have been asked to organise a gift for the Mums at an Expat Mums Group I go to and wanted to do cookie ingredients in a jar - like this here but you can't buy chocolate chips here in Holland where I leave (don't ask!). Has anyone come across another recipe that works well like this (eg layers)
I hope to have the time to trawl through this Christmas Cookie website but thought maybe one of you lovely ladies had already a tried and tested one???here

On a baking front - I found this idea for reindeer cupcakes last year and they were a big hit with DSs - and DH! cupackes here

OWW - just wondering if you could substitute chocolate chips for hagelslag or chocoladevlokken?

I need some help choosing some poncetastic gift wrap. I have always, always used red and gold, with something suitably scandi for DCs stocking gifts. However, this year I am struggling to find any red paper which looks rich enough - they all seem to be slightly faded, imo. So am toying with the idea of purple and gold.

I once used brown paper and raffia & other poncetastic bits but tbh it just looked like I couldn't be arsed rather than artfully done, Cox&Cox style gifting :o

Got the solar lights in the local garden centre Dobbies, which is now owned by Tesco.

I am planning on using them all year round in the back garden. Well that is what I told myself to justify the cost.

Buda thankyou for the info on your angel chimes. I have decided to do without them this year but I will start looking for a proper set in May next year!

Hmm, may have to pop over to Hawkins as I really fancy an angel chime.

I need to find my wrapping paper but nothing is grabbing me. The brown paper/ribbon sounds lovely but I think my 3 dc will prefer something more gaudy bright.

I've now finished my Christmas cushions ( one for DS2 and one for my sewing swap ) am feeling particularly smug about the latter - can i show it off please? it's here I want to make one for me now!!

Quiltingmoomin showing off is perfectly acceptable on this thread your cushion looks great how long did it take?

Dh and I have been saving up loads of branches ready for our planned winter wonderland. However we're not too sure how to fix them. We had hoped to spray them white and have them across the ceiling and walls, but not sure how to make them secure. Have arranged for the dc's to go to mils on Friday 10th December so we can get the bate bones of the decorating together. Then the plan into get two trees once they get back, one in the 'wonderland' room, which has a very high ceiling so we'll get a big tree that will be the poncetasticly decorated one. The other tree will go in the sitting room window this one the dc's can decorate as they like.

Getting excited now.

Oh yes my Mum has got the Bloomin Hestenthal orange pud, so am going to cheat and have that.
