no joke, dd hasn't any clue what she'd like for xmas

i am stumped! she is 8, and the only thing she likes is Pokemon. The plush toys cost a fortune thats if you can find them, and we are tlaking stupid amounts!!

this is the first year i havent a clue. it almost seems as tho we have 'done' all avenues int he past 4 yrs or so.

she has sylvanian, littlest pet shop, hsm, power rangers, a dolls house, farm, playmobil pirate ship, pet centre, airport, kitty puppy in my pocket and hotels. bike, pram, 300 cuddly toys, a nintendo ds, games, books, badge maker, etcha sketch.

wtf am i going to get her, let alone father xmas, lol.

all she can come up with is a skateboard

DD3 is 8 and wants the Lego Hogwarts Castle. Actually, she wants nearly everything in the Lego catalogue.

mine is 3.5 and has informed me she would like "a surprise. a nice one though, not like a dead head in my stocking".

I am not sure whether DH letting her watch The Nightmare Before Christmas was a good idea...

i too am stumped, my dd just had a birthday at 8 so anything she really wanted she got. I replaced her micro scooter thing as it was rusted to buggery. All she wanted was a hedgehog !

DD has no idea either bar that evil Toffee pony and that's only because she's seen the adverts.
I am thinking a reasonably priced swing or something for the garden praps. She's 4.

DD got a CD player for her bedroom last year and a couple of CDs. She was 8.

My 8 year old DN has moved on from HSM/Hannah Montana to Moxie Girlz this year. She loves music and dancing and JLS are really cool apparently.

My dd (8) found a £30 vanity case in the Boots catalogue full of eye shadows and lip liuners etc. She's really just getting into perfumes and smelling nice and playing make up with her little friends.

She has lined up all of her beauty products on the shelf that once contained soft toys and it seems, make up and perfume are the only things she really wants for xmas.......apart from the £300 moving pony thing from John Lewis

I had this problem with dd1, so I ordered a few toy catalogues and she browsed through and soon had a list as ling as her arm!
If she has most of the popular toys, you could try Hawkins Bazaar, Letterbox etc for some different choices.

all great ideas here. dd has a cd player, isn't a girly type tho ( example-has a jack sparrow outfit!!)

i have bought her the set of horrible histories.

she wants Pokemon cards, but they don't take up much room lol. I totally agree she has enough, and she'll admit this too. I need to find something she's never seen before or heard of.

23 more cuddly cats would go down well but i swear she has prob got most of the plush cats on the market.

yes Hawkins Bazaar is a good idea. I have got her one of those pin art things, lol, she was facinated, but i did get it half price, no way was i paying £14 in Hawkins.

she desp wants a pinboard for her room, bit of a weird gift, but she loves lists, loves drawing, and creating characters, so would be good for her to create a display. cheap too!!

binoculars would be good too.

How about something of the hands on type kits - like a full on science experiment kit or a build it yourself radio or a solar system kit? The Science Museum have a good range.

I loved airfix kits about that sort of age, even planes and cars!!

Also a telescope would make a great present - but avoid the 'toy' ones as they are just plastic crap.

The Pokemon Plush toys in Toys R Us are about £10 (not on-line), you could get a Pokemon Annual to go with it aswell?

You said she liked drawing what about buying a big plastic box and filling with drawing pads, glue, colouring pens, stickers, etc and then also include one of those 'How to draw' books

What about Lego? Power Miners, Atlantis, Harry Potter.

Games - Monopoly, Lego Hogwarts, Lego Minotaurus (my 7yr old LOVES this game)

my dd has always been like this for xmas and birthdays so it saves us loads as she is very happy with little surprise presents eg different stickers, books, craft things.

8 is a good age for board games, they can start to play ones which adults can tolerate (or even enjoy!).

Hi my ds is pokemon mad and i search Amazon for pokemon stuff! They have great sticker books, how to draw pokemon books and even guess who pokemon at the moment. Decent prices too HTH.

DD is 9 and loves her whiteboard in her bedroom and is always asking for more whiteboard pens etc.

She now has her beady eye on a magnetic whiteboard (£25 in Staples! < faints > ) but she could do so much with that.

She loves playing schools and I bought her a register recently

Pens, paper and girly "best friend" sort of diaries are good.

Is your DD musical at all? You can get some small keyboards quite inexpensively.
