I was speaking to my dad about this topic who is abroad today and played it out to him what happened to me. At first I was fearing his allegoricial speaking but settled. tMy dad is 81 and a very long term Christian. He is very saged and knowledge.and explains things to me in a way that can be so funny at times. I put to him about me buying salads etc he said yes it was the right thing to do and went onto Jesus healing and miracles.

Then it went to the rubbish bags and them splitting on the day of Sabbath. To him it didn't even need to go the Bible. You made the mess just pick it up and he lives in a flat as well. The is anothet exit I can see just do it the day before. I will attempt to do that if I can next time.I have always done it this way though.

This was another one, i was concerned about potentially encouraging some people to work on the Sabbath but with no judgements.

Now one rule is healing
Now someone working on the Sabbath some may be forced to keep their jobs and lose it. They may have a family and if they lost their job whose to say if their health or life may be on the line. I will never think this again and this came from talking to my dad.

Justmerach · 26/01/2025 17:17

I posted the questtion also what are Jews doing today according to their law. Did you know they have more books on law.. My thoughts were that there would be adaptions. So the Jewish faith today recognises change but many Christians are holding to law and disregard health and safety as well some now updated to relect greater depth. I will not link to it but just post their reply below-so there are exceptions to the Sabbath in Jewish law today for health and safety issues.

{quote]As a Jew and an RN, it is permissible to make exceptions for Jewish law if health and safety are issues.

Garbage can be a health hazard. Also, pork heart valves can be used to repair a defect in someone's heart. It isn't considered a violation of the Sabbath to call an ambulance if someone is having chest pain.

Judaism is a religion for the living, and my personal take on this subject is that God won't hold a grudge against someone for doing the right thing, as we should assume that God is reasonable.

If God is unreasonable, then we're all screwed anyway and all of the religious belief in the world doesn't make a difference.

There is a difference between sincere religious practice and an obsessive fear of God's wrath for being less than perfect.

Sincere religious belief should not be a side-effect of obsessive compulsive disorder and/or toxic perfectionism.[/quote;

Thank you for your message. For me, I get my house clean ready for Sabbath as cleanliness is important to our God. I will make sure I have done all clothes washing also (so I don’t have a mountain to do on Sunday). All other stuff, like if the bin needs emptied on Sabbath I will do as it is essential. We have to remember,, the ordinances of men were nailed to the cross, so that’s all the stuff the Jewish added to His law (which made it a chore, our God created Sabbath so we could delight in Him). Essential stuff, I do, non essential stuff, I don’t do.

With regards to working Sabbath, on 2 occasions (1 before I knew the Sabbath law , and the second time when I had to take a job which was evenings, although at the time it was summer), I simply took it to the Lord and said to Him, I’m working Sabbath and I know I shouldn’t be, but I’m going to give it to you to sort out, and the other time I said Lord, soon the evenings will be drawing in and I won’t be able to work the Friday shift anymore, please sort it for me. On both occasions, by the Grace and Love of God, on 1 job someone asked to change days with me (to Sunday) and the other job, out of the blue I got a phone call offering me a job which I had applied for months before. He always helps us, so long as we fix our eyes on Jesus when the tempest rages about us, we shall be safe.

As Christians sometimes we face the trial of patience, whereby we have to wait for the Lord, this is where our faith is tested, and deepens.

Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you

But their house has been left to them desolate, they didn’t follow Jesus, their man made laws were nailed to the cross and the light of Sabbath was again made prominent. Serving God is simple, His yoke is not burdensome

This was in answer to @Justmerach post of yesterday-

I am thinking alone these lines. Judaic modern laws now must have some exceptions for people on the Sabbath., We must explore these. There are so many changes to society and conditions that might cause a person leading them to have exception. Like my allergy I need to clean my bed everyday.. This allergy came later with modernity probbably and didn't exist in Biblical times.

Also from your post above

@PraiseHim , given your view of Judaism, why did you post on the Jewish Mumsnetters board on 25/1 this-

Hello Friends,
I just wanted to say hello to you all. I’m a Christian Sabbath Keeper.
We share the same one, true, living God.
May the God of all peace and grace bless you abundantly on His hallowed Sabbath 🀍

I would be fascinated to know why you thought that was appropriate, given your clear disdain.

@PraiseHim my post was to you. I was asking why you felt it OK to go on the Jewish Mumsnetters board and post

when you said on this board about Judaism

their house has been left to them desolate, they didn’t follow Jesus, their man made laws were nailed to the cross

and

so that’s all the stuff the Jewish added to His law (which made it a chore, our God created Sabbath so we could delight in Him)

I ask because I found it disingenuous that you would do this and am interested in why you would, on the same day you posted the above on this board.

What is the issue with saying hello to fellow believers in the God of Heaven?

I didn’t nail the ordinances of men to the cross, God of heaven did, and He left their house desolate, not I

Jesus is from the line of Judah

But you are not, are you. You are not Jewish and you were pulled up for posting content inappropriate for that board (it could be interpreted as proselytising IMO) I hold to my view that to go on to Jewish MNetters while, on the same day, disparaging their beliefs elsewhere is not OK.

Pulled up ? Somebody said perhaps I shouldn’t be posting on the Jewish Board, that’s one persons view. I’m sure there are plenty of Jewish heritage who are open to being friendly to fellow brethren. Do you not think it’s for the individual to decide rather than you?

Their Old Testament is my Old Testament too. Scripture is the word of God. Maybe you should go direct to Him if you have issue with it

Isaiah 41:10

We are all doing our best and I was told at our once a month we could represent and clean up the God as well. I was thrilled if I could turn and up clean for free gladly. Unfortunetly with my conditions sometimes I cannot go the stairs at later date. I don't like the dark and female and a lot going to me so sometimes was waiting to the light. Foxes would run out.As the days grew longer I sometimes with held going down stairs for the light.

Also, I have conditions and from the knees sometimes cannot be standing long. There are additional challenges and sometimes I say look all this can to tomorrow done and set aside. The only thing will prevent me from going is death is as well and who know that one.

We all but doing but our best as well so should be. I have not a long timer but the board only a few pages on. A new name older ones are scrolled looking to help you know a zeal on the number and job. I think many struggle to see a picture of others and me just as coming to mind I was going. Hardly quoting anyone. I intended noone but it has certainly for me to me to uncover about modern Judaism updates to add rules of health and safety on Sabbath. I encounter health conditions and more things how many yawns its boaring to me But health and God knows the rest. We try our best.

I used to pay a private cleaner to come and clean my flat and now even my own the cleaning is a chore. My aim still is to prepare my living quarters for the day of rest of mind but Monday is there to. I say no wheelchair in mine just yet. Just on Friday I was in hospital having an MRI Spinal scan 51 years old issues affecting the bone on scan. That is my one. Trying our best. Should hear within the month. Told to up my vitamin and so many pills milk this one that. So at times cannot get it all done. There are exceptions on the Sabbath and I will never that play that game of listing out my illnesses to get out of my duties. I have responsbilites and I love to my duty. We are to showcase God and the beauty of work at hand.

I bid you peace. I did not wish yet to wait for the reply of the source of the law but from a mother and a teacher who is of that faith come on. I tried the Google search last night and the laptop was almost sleeping on awake lucky it never broke. Now I saw an ad online with gaming with Jews I wished if I could as part of interfaith dialogue asked in email and called no as Christian as said in the world not safe anyone to them this time of world. Well I accepted for are to know who I am. Just to join in games. Now I didn't to put the whole post on this board for some are in fear of attack and been attacked. Now I will it out and if they reply to my question about source Journal name verse I have posted if they quote them directly.

So additions to health and safety to Judiac

My rector Jesus was about healling on Sabbath if you need to promote healing it is ok. Didn't seem so clear cut about safety but I will keep on doing what I can from my heart. Btw, I have autism as well and part like rituals movements and numbers all these things and a routine, All these and the simiplest and a good laugh sometimes.

Wishing everyone well

Justmerach · 28/01/2025 00:28

Did you know some Jewish religious evidence can come with a code and numbers and oral tradition..Who wants to repeat a question to be told by some top asking a repeating question and butting your nose into our business. We must try and enact patience. You know many Jewish parents do not let their children use phones or the laptops. All not their published sometimes and times of attacks who to say.

I wanted to study religion at University it turned out later.I was 22 when I entered university after really see 14 beset by challenges of illness and autism. After attending hospital specialised 21 came back time out bingo passion to study religion came to me and deep desire to learn as much as much as I can..

Of to uni I went at 22 with mostly coming and forwards to home. I studied a mixture of religions. Christanity my passion, I also studied Judaism. At times I did modules on Islam. I also read the Bhagavad Gita. More elements Buddism and Hinduism. I was also baptised Roman Catholic as well. All these things I studied. I was majoring in Media Communications to try and use broadcasting to highlight God. Did a stint at the God channel. My lecturers so media presenters now so gifted in the text studies book on Women and Judaism numerous books one the after the other. Lectuerer Hindu with such a peaceful heart. So many religions it only that I was serving who has always been behind me. I attend now an Anglican church as a non demontional. The Holy Spirit will attend any church that worships God appropriately.

Now we only ask questions but try and it peacefully. I always say no sacroreligious titles try and avoid as sometimes the titles can so unsettling to me my body can vibrate and noises and so not a good to me. Simple simple and aim to treat well.

You cannot stop anyone on the internet but a kind to kind you know what the Bible says but sometimes thing can seem so dissenting you have no idea.

So if someone posts the source to safety changes I will return to simply leave the links you know been getting on I must rest now.

Justmerach · 28/01/2025 18:17

Hopefully someone else can sticth this up good about Judiac law.
This here enough references to food safety and rest modern day laws.
can just use the find.
https://shulchanaruchharav.com/halacha/chapter-1-the-obligation-to-guard-ones-health-and-physical-safety/

Also then references to

Poskim are Jewish legal scholars who apply halakha, or Jewish law, to cases where previous authorities are unclear. The word "poskim" is the plural of the word "posek".

What do poskim do?

Determine how to apply halakha to cases where there is no clear precedent
Provide guidance on how to make halachic decisions
Explain how Torah principles apply to everyday life
What is halakha?
The Jewish religious laws that come from the written and Oral Torah

Often translated as "Jewish law", but it can also mean "the way to behave" or "the way of walking"

If my back was ok would stich it up

Now I am not going to spend more time on this and must move on. Certainly internet can take a lot of our time.

I am not going to any verses chapters but general books and it is true all of it.

I have just got of the phone and freshly in mind as we speaking me to Rabbi 6 today my answers was given to me. We didn't have much time.

It came down to it which is it from we agreed. Health and Safety from the Rabbi.6 There are exceptions it is needs to be.

Judiasm 10 Commandments it is based rules. Then also different sources none taking away from anothers but there is Rabbinic journals that formed and also the Talmud and no scriptures is given. It is a mix that make this new exception for it exists.. Look in the post and the open the link yourselves.

That is our answer if your life is at risk and safety on the Sabbath you may indeed do what you to save your life in Judaism.

The spirit of the law

Now Christanity which I love dressed as a Catholic. I sense some people are not aware of any exceptions to the Commandment of rest.

We exchanged emails with the Rabbi 6. I do not wish to use it as I have my answer.

Peace
