I am waiting for the hospital to phone back

I don't know what to do

She was just packing up in Maths and it gradually went black

PlumBumMum · 12/03/2010 12:56

Katymac are you going to go to the hospital today?
I can't remember from your last thread, did they think it was viral?

stressed2007 · 12/03/2010 12:58

If the hospital has not got back to you please call again - I would have thought she should be seen very quickly.

Katymac · 12/03/2010 13:03

They said they would get back to me in an hour to 1.5 hrs

I reckon it's about 2 hrs now - but it is lunchtime so maybe I'm being a pain

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 12/03/2010 13:06

Jackstini · 12/03/2010 13:08

I think you have every right to be a pain Katy - I would call them.
Was following your previous thread & hoping this would not get worse how is dd bearing up?

Katymac · 12/03/2010 13:09

DD is fine - a bit mimbly but really OK - that is why I am not climbing the walls/screaming from the highest building

PlumBumMum · 12/03/2010 13:10

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT BEING A PAIN, ring them back and keep ringing them

Rhubarb · 12/03/2010 13:12

Your dd cannot see. This needs to be assessed asap. It is an emergency. Call them.

Hassled · 12/03/2010 13:13

Katy - will be thinking of you. 2 hours is too long to wait for a call back - keep at them.

wannaBe · 12/03/2010 13:14

The loss of colour had me thinking that it could be a retinal issue, often things like this can be brought on by viral infections, but I'm aware that op's dd has had tests and scans etc - has she had her eye pressure checked?

I have a friend who lost his sight in a similar way although he didn't have the build-up, he was just doing homework one day and his world went black. It was a retinal disfunction that had been brought on by a virus thought to have been contracted in a swimming pool.

Tbh I think that your dd needs to be seen at a dedicated eye hospital such as moorfields. With the greatest respect to local hospitals, most of their eye departments spend their time looking at cateracts and old ladies' glaucoma, and are completely baffled with complicated eye problems.

I'd be down there at the hospital in the waiting room glaring at them.

But then this sort of thing would scare the shit out of me.

Bucharest · 12/03/2010 13:21

Goodness how scary.
Hope everything is OK Katymac....
