Ds1 wsn't great yesterday. h ewa sindoors all day anyway as a punishment for cutting big holes in his school torusers. He was bedded by 7pm, complaining of not feeling good, and had a very stuffy nose.
I ent him to school, he is in the bath now. He says he feels sick and dizzy, has got a snotty nose (but not running) feels very hot and shivery and says his wrists are sore.

took dd to the gp this morning and she has a nasty throat infection so shes on anti biotics 4 times a day
she really wants to be at school ,bless her missing her school xmas lunch today

DD1 (11) is at home today with sore throat, headache and a really painful wrist. I thought the wrist was unconnected until I saw this thread.
She is supposed to be playing violin in the school concert tomorrow but will now join the disappointed alongside DD3 who is also at home with the vomiting bug and is missing her school play today
I am hoping DD2 will manage to avoid being infected by either of her sisters but fear it is too much to ask.

I think ds1 migt have this - he's 2.5 yrs and has had a high temp since yesterday afternoon, I sent him to cm today bad mum, its my second day back since a yr of mat leave - he can't/won't/doesn't have words to tell me how he feels but how long can high temps last for? I'm just keeping him dosed up at the moment but wondering when I should start to worry

mrsmaidamess · 16/12/2008 19:42

dd13 has been ill since Saturday, temp, dizzy, throbbing headache, cough, snots .

16 children were off sick from my infants school yesterday. Its the same every year at this time.

They should shut the schools a week earlier, give us all a break.

My DD is off pre-school with tonsilitis and several of her close friends are off with similar 'bugs', she has also kindly passed it on to me in the form of a chest infection . There seems to be loads of horrid fluey bugs going around at the moment

Well I shall be facing a disciplinary at work, becasue there is no way Ds1 can go in to school tomorrow. he went in today - bad mum I made him, and came home at 3.30 wnet straight to bed and slept for an hour. Ate no tea, he had calpol, ibuprofen and sudafed and is away back to bed. he had a temp earlier of 40, but its down to 38 now

There is definately something going round where we live.
I thought my dd was coming down with it this morning but she really wanted to go to school today and when I picked her up her eyes were all red and tonight shes getting worse.

Flu is nasty and makes you feel awful.

compo · 16/12/2008 19:48

have you got anyone who could stay home with him, grandparents etc?

saltiresaysSANTA · 17/12/2008 14:10

compo- no my mum is 7 hours away and MIL is 8.
He went into school this morning, he wanted to go. I called when I got home at 1.30, to see how he was and got told "oh well he has been down to the office a couple of times todya wanting us to phone you, but we sent him back because we think he looked ok".
This is not the first time one of my children ahs been ill and told to go back to class.
he is home now and tucked up in bed
