Have they been to the specialists here in the UK? Has your nephew been told, or are his parents not telling him the prognosis?

Is there anything anyone can do?

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 07/09/2008 10:22

yes they have been too specialists here. he got the best uk specialists and i think they were in touch with a specialist from paris last time he had cancer as the form he had was so rare. none of his doctors has seen it before. we all thought that he had beat it but its come back!

nephew doesnt know sil doesnt want him to know incase he gives up and refuses treatment. thats why she doesnt want anyone out side immediate family knowing just how bad it is. she doesnt want it getting back to nephew.

his doctors here have said that all they can do is slow it down.

sil is hoping that specialist abroad will b able to give her more hope.

i have so much going through my head right now and then start feeling guilty because all i should be worried about is nephew.

but im concerned for dh. he has already told me that he is not going to cope with this. he pays the morgate and we have no insurance against him losing his job. he falls apart we could lose the house. his company only has bereavement leave when it concern immediate family so any leave will be unpaid and i dont want him to feel he has to go back if he cant cope. so i need to find myself a job that will cover the morgate.

i am worried about mil. she is still not over losing her husband. i dont think she will handle this well at all.

i am worried about my niece. she is only 7 she is too young to understand all of this never mind deal with it.

and obviously most of all im devasted for poor nephew! how can a nine year old boy deal with this

How dreadful

Not to sound clinical about this-but can you use the time now to prepare your family for this?

Might be an idea to look into some kind of mortgage payment protection or loss of earnings insurance?

My thoughts and prayers are with you all, will be praying for a miracle x

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/09/2008 10:30

God that is so sad and awful ... will think of your nephew and send positive vibes his way. I can understand a little of what you must be going through as my own brother had a rare cancer at the age of 10 and died - if I can be of any help,do say.

ForeverOptimistic · 07/09/2008 10:30

I am so sorry.
