Thought I would start a new thread for the mandatory reconsideration for DLA.
i have been waiting since 18th of July for a decision on my sons reconsideration. Still a long wait as they are saying 25 weeks. Anyone else have any updates of where they are at or how long yours have taken altogether?

Dd's one took well over a year.
It crossed the earlier end date so they automatically renewed for a year at that point.

Kc1999x · 04/10/2024 14:51

My son was already receiving hrc, renewal was jan 2025, I did a COC for HRM. They extended his award till 2032 but no mobility, so I’ve made the reconsideration on the HRM, I will be taking it to tribunal because all the evidence I sent shows he qualified under SMI. It’s just so long winded, I remember when MRs were the quickest

They are currently quoting 25 weeks for MR. Its ridiculous. The letter we received said 11 weeks, that changed within the same week we received the letter.

Sent of November 2023. Declined may 18. Mandatory reconsideration Jun 10. And still waiting. Called lots of times. Different excuses.
I didn't send any evidence first time. As my son masks at school and is always holding his temper in. I had a senco letter I didn't send as she focused on the positive and I felt that dwp would use it against me. It's horrific at home.
Example of senco. " he as lots of friends"
Truth!! But you didn't mention that iv been pulled to one side about him grabbing another child by throat for taking is sticker, punched another. ( this is norm at home).
I think it's going to be no again. I'm burnt out He swears none stop. Verbally abuses me and his sister. Violent outbursts. It was school who said adhd/asd but we get no support from school. Iv upped my anxiety medication myself to cope but it made me very ill.
Because he hides his true self at school it's impossible to get the support we need.

So confused rang said decision made. Couldn't tell me but said shouldn't say this but good days are coming?. I took this to mean I'd been awarded on both and to a good level.
Nope!!!!. Decision maker was cruel.didnt award no mobility . Low care!!!.
I went mad on phone and said that's crazy. How from the Citizens Advice form plus evidence did they come to low rate and nothing. 28 pounds .

I got a call half an hour later saying , evidence was not read. As it wasn't that a new decision would be made.
I'm so annoyed as what they going to do now take away the 28 pounds care. ???
That is what I think as at school he masks. And there to positive. Even though he needs help with zips, buttons. He don't ask
